Kicking Horse Gem-Best Views on the Mountain

270 degree views of the mountains! One of the few true ski in/ski out chalets at the base of the ski hill. Outdoor hot tub, wood burning stove, Dream Chef's kitchen with 12 foot island, 2 sinks with garborators. Double fridges, 36 Gas professional cooktop. High end Miele appliances. Radiant Infloor heating throughout the house. Warm on feet and no dry air! 5 bedrooms that sleeps 19 people BUT with the set up have 14 adults can each have their own bed. Rec room with pool table and huge bootroom.

It is a two story with the main level having 3 bedrooms and a full bathroom. Also the entry leads into a huge boot room with 12 cubbies, boot warmers for 6 pairs of boots, wall to hold skis and poles and a tuning table (bring your own tuning supplies). The upstairs has a powder room half way up and the second level has 2 master bedrooms with their own ensuites. Once upstairs you could spend the entire weekend up there as the kitchen, dining area and living room in also on this level. Perfect for older couples or grandparents who don't want to navigate the stairs.

The side door to the right when facing the chalet is the access door with a code lock.

In an area of exclusive ski chalets. All unique and quite nice. Quiet street with very little traffic if any at all. Walking trails all around the chalet.

Room for 4 cars. Overflow parking at the village and gondola is a 6 minute walk.

We have the best internet in Kicking Horse!! Starlink satellite internet with download speeds of 150mbps. 90% of the chalet's up here have Telus which is maxed out at 15mbps. We couldn't watch a video with this speed and impossible to work for us.

Amazing Property!

Such a cool property inside, there's so much unique space to gather as a larger group or individually between the kitchen, the nook off of the end, or the basement game room. Architecturally, one of the coolest houses our group has stayed in. We had 13 adults on this trip and I'd say that's about the maximum number that can be slept comfortably with some of the bedrooms being on the smaller side. When we return to Kicking Horse for a future trip, we'd love to stay here again.

Friend and Family ski trip from Philadelphia to Kicking Horse!

Our group absolutely loved our stay at the Kicking Horse Lodge Gem! The property was as advertised and the ski in/out location was amazing! Having the gear room to store our equipment at the end of the day was invaluable and the hot tub overlooking the mountain was the perfect end to each day! Brent and Mary were great to work with and answered all of our questions in short order. I would stay here again without hesitation!

Large Group Stay

We had a lovely stay at this property - it was perfect for a large group of skiers but still was great for those who didn't want to ski as well! The kitchen was great and expansive- there was one minor issue with the oven but the hosts were swift to help us out with the problem. We had a cook and assistant with us as well and they loved the large island to work on. One thing we found so cool about the area was the proximity to the mountain and the network of trails around that you could visit.

Incredible

This house was PERFECT for our trip. We came with a group of 12 guys that just wanted to shred Kicking Horse, and this house was PERFECT in every way. From the entry of the house being a ski locker room, the pool room for us to play games, the huge living room with vaulted ceilings, and the multiple beds for us all to choose from, WOW! The location was also incredible. We could ski right down to the lift, and also could ski straight to the front door of the house after the day, talk about SKI IN SKI OUT!!! Will stay here again!

Impressive Views and Cozy

Our group of 6 loved our two nights at Kicking Horse Lodge Gem. After being in hotels around Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise it was a perfect two nights of relaxation and coziness. We loved the fire pit and the hot tub and enjoying all the comforts of the home.

A slice of heaven in Golden

We met some close friends and their families halfway (we are from Vernon, they are from Calgary) and this was the perfect spot to spend some quality time! Such a great location to endless exploration in nature, including a wonderful playground the kids enjoyed. It was spacious and had everything we needed. We will definitely be coming back!

A very pleasant stay in a lovely location

We were 4 adults and a baby. We stayed in the autumn shoulder period where the resort is open Friday to Monday. Our stay was very pleasant, and it is a really nice chalet. The beds were cozy and comfortable - everybody slept well. We had lots of room to sprawl. Proximity to the resort was great and we enjoyed walking around the various cloisters of homes. Golden is close by, about 10 minutes by car.

Most Amazing Place

Family Fun!

We had the best time for some family fun at this Kicking Horse lodge!! We had a big group with all ages of children in tow! There was plenty of space for playing (inside and outside) while also having plenty of space for comfortable sleeping. The lodge is a part of a resort community that has many amenities!! The home had all we needed (and then some) to make sure we felt at home the entire time!! We enjoyed the board games, the fire pit, the pool table, and the hot tub! We had a blast and would recommend this accommodation without reservation!

Great property

This is a large rental with lots of comfortable beds. Has a big kitchen, living room and dining area. Tons of space, has a pool table and would be excellent if you are a ski family. A big boot room for all your gear.

A gorgeous property in a fantastic location, perfect for family

I booked Mary's property for a large family group, and it was amazing! The property is large, gorgeous, and well laid out for a large group. In particular, the living area and bedrooms are nicely separate, so it's easy for the early risers to enjoy themselves without disturbing anyone who is sleeping. The views are stunning, and the location (less than five minutes on foot from the centre of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, and just 15 mins by car from Golden) was ideal for our group. I hope I'll get to come back! My mom, an experienced traveller, said that Mary's place is the most beautiful place she's ever stayed! Best of all, Mary is an exceptionally responsive host. Before we arrived, we had to make some changes to our guest list, and Mary made everything super easy. We also visited in the midst of some serious wildfires, and Mary provided us with regular updates about the situation. Our stay wasn't significantly impacted, but we knew that Mary was watching out for us.

Perfect!

Mary’s & Brent’s place is amazing! They were proactive in making sure our stay was perfect! And, it was! Their place was clean and very neat. In fact, they had a wee gift basket to welcome us into their home! They recommended places for us to see and things to do. The view is spectacular! We would highly recommend Mary’s & Brent’s place.

A Real Gem

Making a booking online from thousands of kilometers away can be worrying, but Kicking Horse Lodge Gem turned out to be everything we were hoping for. We were a party of six people across three generations, ranging in age from 4 to 70. The Lodge was comfortable, sparkling clean and very well appointed, with everything we could wish to have on hand, including the most beautiful Christmas Tree, such was the timing of our stay. Anyone who has ever travelled with children will know the importance of a well-equipped kitchen and laundry. We need not have worried on this score. The boot room was huge and well laid out. The playroom was very well patronised by our group. Living areas were spacious and nicely furnished. Many thanks to our hosts, Mary and Brent. We loved Kicking Horse Lodge and all it had to offer.

Family Ski Holiday

Well appointed space for our 8 adults and 5 children. Beds and bedding were very comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook big meals. The mud room entry was great for keeping the clothing and ski clutter confined!! The hot tub was a nice extra but the broken step was a bit of a hazard for children getting in and out. Owner said it’s being fixed asap. Not really a ski in ski out location but certainly close enough to walk to the lifts. Overall a great accommodation!

Golf Trip in Golden

Great cabin for hosting 10+ adults. We had 14 men on our trip and were able to sleep everyone comfortably (shared 2 beds). Property is in great shape with recent landscape renovations, a large hot tub and pool table are nice additions. The only downside is the main front door is labeled as "emergency use only" which is a minor inconvenience and was not detailed clearly in listing. Required to use alternative side door on lower level.

Great spot for skiing and hanging with family

The property is well maintained and super convenient to get to the lifts and to get from the slopes pretty much back. The living space is excellent and we hosted some friends on Friday night with lots of room to spare. Hosts were very responsive - we left a jacket and found after we checked out. Lot of room, beds comfortable, mud room was perfect for wet gear. Would definitely choose this if going again with a large group for summer or winter fun.

BEST SKI HOUSE EVER!

As parents of three boys who were all ski racers at one point, we take a lot of trips and rent a lot of ski houses. This house at Kicking Horse Resort in Golden, BC is HANDS DOWN then best house we have ever rented. Why? #1 – amazing views. The great room has views on both Kicking Horse Resort, as well as the amazing mountains across the Columbia River Valley. Stunning. #2 – fantastic hot tub with amazing views. The hot tub is covered (but open on all sides) so when we were all in the hot tub and it was snowing, it was magical. #3 – great kitchen and dining area. The modern, clean kitchen is well stocked with both cookware, dishes, utensils and glassware. Even the knives were sharp (almost unheard of in rentals). As the cook in the family, this was a pleasant surprise. #4 – nicely appointed bedrooms. Mattresses and linens are top notch. The bathrobes hanging on the bathroom doors were a great touch. #5 – Ski & boot room is the perfect place to gear up and de-boot at the end of the day. Oh yeah, it is a ski-house. Let’s talk skiing/boarding…. #6 – Ski out/Ski in. In the morning, walk across the street and gear up. It is an easy cruise down to the gondola to get first tracks. At the end of the day, take a few turns ‘skier’s left’ to end up on Bail Out. If the streets are snow covered (which they were for us) simply ski back to the house. (How sweet is that?) #7 – Owners. We were caught up in the “Great Air Cancellation” of Christmas 2022 and missed the first three days of our stay. The owners were as accommodating as they could be. In addition, we had a plumbing problem on New Year’s Eve and the owners were able to get a plumber out that same night. Just super nice folks. If you are looking for a great house at a great resort (Kicking Horse is a great resort), this is the house you’ve been looking for.

We've thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. Robes and slippers to walk out to the hot tub, yoga mat and foam roller to ease muscles after a day on the hill, charging stations for electronics, computer monitor to connect your laptop and a work desk with a view, new smart TV's with built in Netflix, Apple TV, Prime, etc apps
