Spearfish canyon, with it's great trout fishing and unique waterfalls and hiking, can be accessed in just a short 15 minute drive. Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Custer State Park, Sylvan Lake, Black Elk Peak and more are also just a 1 hour drive down beautiful highway 385.
