The Happy Hour Cottage is a newly renovated 1600 SF, 2 bedroom/1 bath unit. Located within walking distance to downtown, the marina, several parks, and Lake Dora. Enjoy the quaint neighborhoods, dining, shopping, or attend one of the year round festivities. Relax and enjoy the nostalgia of yesteryear while exploring downtown or relaxing in the courtyard with a glass of wine around the firepit.

Fast visit

I enjoyed the house and back deck, very lovely. Though unsure of how to operate a smart tv.

Excellent, clean and neat

Extremely clean rental. Roomy and in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Would have preferred place closer to town, but that's a personal matter. Nothing was available. Certainly would recommend this rental!

Beware! Owner filed false damage claim and will not communicate

My company travels for work and we use VRBO for our housing needs. We have a 5-star rated vacation rental business at our Texas home base location, and we also have a 5-star guest rating on VRBO. I would like to begin this review of the house by saying it was very charming, clean and in a beautiful area. The move in instructions were clear. The problem we encountered was with the owner. When we checked out, we private messaged the owner with some minor problems we noticed and wanted to suggest to her that she might want to address the issues for the next guests. We had issues with the spin cycle on the washer, the dryer was not drying the clothes, the bath tub was draining slowly, and the deadbolt was hard to turn to lock the door. This was not a complaint to the owner, just feedback on how to improve her guests' experience. In return, we received no direct communication from the owner. Then she filed a claim through our travel insurance that we had damaged the home with gouged floors and cabinets (we don't wear shoes in the house and we did not cook in the kitchen) and a stained curtain, which we never touched. We reached out repeatedly to the owner to clear up this matter, but she would not respond to our messages. In closing, it was a very nice and cute house but a terrible owner who is filing false damage claims on guests.

Hello Pamela, Unfortunately this is a dishonest review. You did try to blackmail us twice threatening to leave a bad review if we collected on the damage from the security deposit, which we had to in order to pay for repairs. You also had people impersonating you in communications on your account and you had additional guests that were not on the reservations. You also damaged the property. When we came to check on the property after you left we could not even open the door as the lock had been forced so hard it was stuck. Furniture was shoved all around in different rooms and there were gouges in the floor. You also broke off a door stop and gouged the bathroom cabinets. There was also a weird brown substance on many tables and the curtains. We were able to clean the substance off the hard surfaces but it did not come off the curtains. The insurance company VRBO uses agreed to reimburse us after they saw all the pictures of the damages. Honestly, it looked as if there was some sort of heavy drinking going on in the house. In regards to my responsibilities as an owner, I have the same properties listed on AIRBNB with almost 350 5 star reviews. I am new to this platform which is why it is not listed here.

Tastefully decorated with a shared outdoor patio this duplex cottage is great for a family or friend getaway and is within easy walking distance of downtown. Happy Hour has a firepit, outdoor dining area, charcoal grill and fun patio with cornhole and a giant connect 4 board. Listen for the owls that begin hooting at dusk!
