Waterfront Gallatin River access w/fire pit - Historic Fly Fishing Cabin
This charming, over 100 year old cabin sits along the banks of the Gallatin River, making it the perfect fly fishing spot! With a seating area overlooking the water, the views don't get much better than this! Make sure to watch for rafters as they go by as this is a popular white-water rafting area.
As you enter the cabin, you'll find a cozy open-concept living/dining/kitchen area, complete with a beautiful decorative fireplace and lovely rustic cabin decor. The bathroom has everything you need for your stay, including a vintage claw-foot tub! From the living area, you enter the loft by way of a log ladder that leads to a comfy, cozy bedroom space with a full-sized bed. Have a peaceful night's rest as you listen to the comforting sounds of the river.
Originally a dude ranch, Karst Camp was established in 1901 by Pete Karst. It was the gateway to Yellowstone National Park for early tourists. The camp, known as Karst Stage Stop Inn, saw up to 600 tourists per summer with 25 guests cabins. In 1937, Pete built a towrope for skiers, which has since vanished, as well as a bar and brothel for local miners. Visitors can imagine the rugged conditions both residents and tourists must have had to endure to appreciate Yellowstone Country 100 years ago.
In the summer, you are just minutes from exceptional fly fishing, river rafting, golfing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, ziplining and more. Plus, the West entrance of Yellowstone National Park is only about 45 minutes away while following the historic HWY 191 along the scenic Gallatin River. Don't miss the free concerts, farmer's markets, and weekly special events throughout the summer!
