The location is excellent, and the property is as advertised, although a bit dated. Games are plentiful, but well used. For example, the SNL Saturday Night Live Trivial Pursuit game is nearly 20 years old! The volleyball net in the backyard is in tatters, and many of the beach chairs are rusty. The view of one neighbor’s backyard is spectacular while the other is terrible. That’s completely beyond the control of the owner, however.

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We're glad you enjoyed the excellent location and found the property to be as advertised. We appreciate your feedback regarding the condition of the games, volleyball net, and beach chairs. We will relay your comments to the homeowner and suggest updating some of the games and replacing items that have seen better days. Thank you again for helping us identify areas for improvement, and we hope to welcome you back to the Outer Banks!

We had a wonderful stay at The Sandbox! It is a very well-thought out home with lots of ceiling fans (indoors and out) and an outdoor retractable awning near the pool. The location is easily walkable to both the beach and Target. The home is bright and welcoming and the ocean views are lovely. We all enjoyed the pool and hot tub, too. One suggestion might be to add a large door mat inside the lower level doors. The tiles get slippery with washed-off feet. The reality company was awesome! We had a few maintenance issues and their response was quick and appreciated. It was a great vacation!

Nice House

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House was nice! It was clean and over a good fit for our family vacation. It was different to us that there was no cleaning supplies at the house. The outside shower was not working and neither was the outside pool lights. The coffee pot was also chipped. We didnt use the yard, just the pool area. We apricate the beach chairs and cart although they were not in the best condition. The pool was great! its not very deep so it was great for my youngest. We do wish there would have been a pool float or pool toys. We liked that there was kids cups and dishes. The kids room was a great fit for our three kids. House is in a great location. It is a difficult walk to the beach with no sidewalk. There are lots of games and books at the house for rainy days.

We're grateful to hear that the home was clean, a great fit for your family, and that you enjoyed the pool, convenient location, and thoughtful touches like the kids' dishes, games, books, beach chairs, and cart. It's wonderful to know the kids' room worked so well for your family and that the shallow pool was perfect for your youngest. We also appreciate your feedback. We're sorry to hear about the issues you encountered with the outdoor shower, pool lights, and chipped coffee pot. Our team will make sure these items are addressed. We also appreciate your comments regarding the condition of the beach equipment and the lack of pool toys. While we don't advertise pool floats since they can be easily damaged or left behind by previous guests, we understand how they can add to a family vacation and appreciate you sharing your suggestion. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us. We value your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you and your family back for another stay in the future!

Very Nice House!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was very clean and tastefully decorated. The pool area was nice, but weeds and brush needs to be cleaned up. The main thing that I didn't like is there was no cabinet space for groceries and it needs a complete set of assorted knives including steak knives.

Absolutely beautiful, gorgeous house with everything that you would need. Definitely will rent again

We got into the house Friday and unfortunately, Saturday night when we went to go out to eat I fractured my rest and we had to leave this beautiful home with all these amenities Monday morning. Beyond that is everything you would want it to be in a lot of privacy in this house. Neighbors were great. We just wish that we could have spent the entire week at the house 8 AM instead of two full days. If you are looking for a semi oceanfront house, this place is perfect!

Conveniently Located Rental

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at The Sandbox, conveniently located in walking distance to the beach. I would NOT recommend this property to anyone who has dogs due to the high volume of sandspurs in the backyard, making it unusable. Other than that, The Sandbox was the perfect home base for my family.
VrboOwnerからの返信 (投稿日 : 2024 年 2 月 7 日)
Thank you for your review and for bringing this to our attention, as we understand the concern for pets. We agree, The Sandbox is located in a central area with something for everyone! The owner is on a sandspur treatment plan to rectify this issue. Sandspurs are native to the Outer Banks and although we cannot fully prevent any issues caused by them, we do our best to prevent this from impeding on our guests stay.

Great house for a family

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was exactly what we were looking for when we booked in OBX. Management was helpful when we arrived a little earlier than our original scheduled check in time and was able to get us in about an hour early. The house, pool, and hot tub were all clean. The beach access was only a very short walk and was very doable with our children. There were a lot of spurs in the back yard, so just make sure you wear shoes. Overall, we had a great stay and would book this home again.

Great house and great time!

Nice house. Clean! Had a great stay here! Family enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Something for everyone! Had some nightly card games too!! Not too far from the beach access. We usually have farmdogs rental set our canopy up etc so not as much to haul anyway! Only mention was the upper screened porch door was missing the screen. Wasnt too big of a deal, and I did send a message at end of week so hopefully they have it fixed now! Lift was a lifesaver, definitely a plus for luggage and groceries! Awful Arthurs, Black Pelican and Jolly Rodgers restaurant very close, and a few other great restaurants! Pier is close, walking distance. Foodlion, Target and Belk very near too! Overall great stay! Thanks!

Family Trip Heaven

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is very nice and about one block from the public beach access. It was a beautiful house, but the only thing is for being a pet friendly house, the yard was absolutely not pet friendly. The pool/ patio are was great. The yard on the other hand was pretty bad. The grass and weeds are out of control and the sand spurs are horrible. There’s a nice volleyball net in the yard, but cannot use it due to the condition of the yard area. Overall, that did not ruin our trip, and I would absolutely stay here again if the yard was taken care of. Hope to see you next year house!

The Sandbox

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home is located within a great distance to everything including the beach, shopping and restaurants. For the most part, the home was very clean with the exception of the outside shower area. Also, if you are planning to use the backyard for your dog, please note the yard is full of "sticky weeds" which would not be good for your dogs paws. We enjoyed our stay
