Peaceful Weekend Getaway

This home was perfect for a weekend getaway for two. The setting was quiet and peaceful. The home was very nice, extremely clean, and well maintained. The bed was so comfortable. We loved the rain head shower. The hot tub was a big perk. We hiked and went to the casino during our stay and the location was ideal right between downtown Bryson and Cherokee. Would definitely recommend and we plan to return!

The perfect size...

The home was the perfect size for my husband and I. We really loved the design! The location was great, as it was just secluded enough, but also not difficult to get to nearby towns. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Perfect Getaway

This property was a perfect getaway for a long weekend with easy access to Bryson City and Cherokee. Home is secluded but close to all the area attractions. Very comfortable bedding and perfect size for a couple or small family.

Clean, fully stocked and super convenient!

We’ve taken several trips to the the Cherokee and Bryson City area over the years and this was bar far one of our best rentals. The house was just as advertised, perfectly stocked with everything you could need and easy to get to.

Amazing cabin! True to description. Clean, comfy, with all the amenities. Easy trip to both Cherokee and Bryson City. My twins want us to make this our home they loved it so much.

Amazing Weekend Getaway

If you are looking for an awesome little getaway spot this is it!! This place is unbelievably clean, private surroundings, and close to Bryson City and Cherokee. King size bed in the master has the best mattress for a great restful sleep. The hosts are easy to work with and very responsive to questions. We will definitely stay here again and also consider their other properties through Rustic Rest Cabins!!

Exceptional Home

Can I just say I absolutely loved the rain shower! My favorite part was the sleeping loft (bunk bed). This place was exceptionally clean and we loved the layout of the home and enjoyed the fire pit and brand new hot tub. Highly recommend!

Short vacation

Wouldn’t have changed absolutely NOTHING about the home! Only thing that was disappointing was we had to leave a day early due to being self employed. One of the BEST properties we have ever stayed in loved it!!

Quick weekend getaway

Unit was very nice & clean. Wanted to use the hot tub but it read cleaning solution was over due to be changed by 80 days. Other than constant dog barking at lower neighbor out front, we enjoyed our stay! Thank you.

Perfect Getaway

A perfect modern cabin in the hills of North Carolina. We really enjoyed our time here. The cabin had almost everything we needed to relax and stay in. The Christmas decorations were a fun touch, and the hot tub was just what we were looking for during a cold week. The area was quiet, and it felt private. The only things we noticed are there were not any tools for the grill (grill brush) and no oven-safe deep dish. Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a mountain getaway that still feels like home.

Smoky mountain retreat

Peaceful beautiful and comfortable cabin in the mountains minutes from Cherokee and the smoky mountain national park. I was very happy in my choice of locations on the quieter North Carolina side. Enjoyed exploring the quiet Cataloochee and Deep Creek areas of the park and all of the Cherokee cultural sites. I have to admit the mountain road that the cabin is on intimidated me at first until I got used to it. I would not have wanted to arrive for the first time at night. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Brian and Sarah’s cabin in the mountains.

Great Little Mountain Getaway

We traveled to this area of the mountains for a week of fun and adventure. This home provided the perfect location between Cherokee and Bryson City. It’s central location was convenient to these towns, as well as several other mountain towns. It’s also located in a quiet community and is nestled into the hillside. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, and grill. The home was neat and outfitted with everything we needed. We greatly appreciated the area guide provided by the hosts and utilized these tips to plan some of our adventures adventures. We were blessed by snow on a day trip through the Great Smoky Mountains and got to see one of the elk herds near the Oconaluftee Visitor Center. We visited the Road to Nowhere, Mingo Falls and Soco Falls. We spent a little time at the casino in Cherokee but more so enjoyed walking along the Oconaluftee River Trail in town. Even on a rainy day, we had the best time checking out some of the shops in Bryson City and nearby Dillsboro and Sylva. We experienced two minor issues during our stay, which could not be resolved despite communication with the hosts. The gas fireplace didn’t work, and we also did not have any Wi-Fi for the week. The host tried to troubleshot the Wi-Fi with us remotely, but we ended up needing to use our cell phone as a hotspot. That said, reception is notoriously spotty in western NC, and we didn’t travel to the area to watch TV. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in the NC mountains.

My kind of escape

The property was definitely beautiful, not much of an area for a pup to go to bathroom besides on a steep hill so keep that in mind if you bring yours with, at one point we went to a local area down the mountain for our Great Dane to go potty. Other people were not respectful of the property and left there dog poop behind which ended up being walked in (not the property owners fault, just arrogant dog owners). Perfect size for a smaller family, the heaters/propane fire place worked amazingly and kept the place so snuggy! Our kid enjoyed climbing up and down the ladder to the bunk beds, it became the highlight of the trip! Be mindful if you like the privacy of curtains in a place, the master bedroom back window, bunk bed windows and large side living room window are not covered, this became inconvenient for me as I had a new baby which meant feeding the baby/expressing without feeling like I was totally covered (I’m sure no one can see, but it’s the thought of having windows not covered, left me uneasy), while others may enjoy it being you’re on a mountain side with nature all around to look out at. We wouldn’t use the hot tub especially at night due to its location, just not ideal but I’m sure during the day when wildlife isn’t so present, it’s beautiful. Definitely be mindful of when they say you may need 4wd, it’s gravel roads the whole way up/down, it’s no joke! The property owners were amazing with communication and being sure we enjoyed our time! We will be back for sure!

My name is Brian Whitener. My wife Sarah and I love the Smoky Mountains of Western NC! I also enjoy photography, biking, woodworking, and spending time with my lovely wife Sarah. Our passion is to see people experience a place of rest and rejuvenation from their busy everyday lives. My wife and I believe our cabin, this area, and the naturally beautiful surroundings of Bryson City NC provide such a place to reconnect with family and friends! We are excited to share the cabin with you and we know you will find it most relaxing! We also really enjoy assisting all of our guests experience the most fulfilling time possible while here. There are so many hiking trails, waterfalls, and things to do it can become overwhelming! Once you have booked with us and have reviewed our Area Information Page please feel free to ask us any questions about any of the excursions listed!

Another benefit of booking with us is the experience and level of control we have over our property. My wife Sarah and I manage the property ourselves and therefore control cleaning products that are used in the home. Our goal is to have as chemical free environment as possible. We proudly use Mrs. Meyers products, hydrogen peroxide based(bleach free) bathroom cleaner, paraben free naturally derived body wash, and 100% natural essential oils for our cabin’s signature scent. The hot tub is chlorine free; we use Bromine, a safer way to sanitize the spa.
