Welcome to The Beachcomber, the front house to The Hut, and part of the The Freaky Tiki.

The Beachcomber is a completely rebuilt Spanish style home, in the historic Heart of Lubbock neighborhood. I redesigned this home from bare bones to be amazingly comfortable and enjoyable with every amenity you expect. The brand-new HVAC system will keep you cool or warm with the easy-to-use Nest thermostat, new plumbing, and Ring alarm system and outdoor camera will give you piece of mind during your stay.

The TVs are connected through the high-speed Wi-Fi and are Smart TV's, so that you can watch your favorite Netflix show, Hulu, ESPN+, Disney+, etc... local channels are also available.

The kitchen features Talavera tile and butcher-block countertops, as well as brand new stainless steel appliances. You will also find all the cooking utensils, pots, pans, blender, mixer, crockpot, cookie sheets, plates, bowls, cups, and flatware you need to cook a full meal. Plus, a coffee bar setup!

The bedrooms feature high end mattresses that regularly receive compliments from my guests, plus cozy bedding, and room darkening curtains. Each bed has nightstands with USB lamps to charge your devices easily. You will find hangers and storage space to put your items away and feel like you are at home.

The living room has a sofa with a queen size pullout bed for extra guests.

The bathroom has totally been renovated with a beautiful Talavera tile shower, and is filled with soft, plush towels, and all the bathroom amenities you will need, including a hair dryer.

The backyard is a tropical paradise with a courtyard, firepit, and the Tiki Tavern for guests to relax in the open air and have a drink or two! There is a gas grill, multiple seating areas, and lounge chairs to soak up the sun. Cornhole boards, Darts, Horseshoes and Putting Green to enjoy…or have some friendly competition!

There is a washer and dryer as well as laundry detergent, along with an iron and ironing board for guests to use.

Parking is available on the side of the house.

I can't say enough positive things about The Beachcomber - and Beverly. I just wish we'd had a little more time to stay there! Lubbock was a quick roadtrip layover on our (me, daughter and granddaughter) way to Austin, but we'll definitely spend more time next time. Great neighborhood, great property - and great host! Absolutely whole-heartedly recommend The Beachcomber!

This place was so beautiful and wish I had stayed there a week at least ! So beautifully designed and the backyard with all the games and Tiki bar was just an amazing touch . We had all we needed and more there for the stay ; if in Lubbock again I will definitely be staying here again ; beautiful home and Great location !

Great location within walking distance to Texas Tech. House was filled with great amenities and well equipped. The backyard was FANTASTIC with so many entertaining things to do. Would highly recommend.

The host welcomed us at the home and gave a tour of the property. The were simple things provided like shampoo, conditioner, soap, sheets, cooking utensils which made our stay easier. The home was everything advertised and was such a charming place. We enjoyed purslane would absolutely stay in again

Highly recommend! Exceeded our expectations. Beverly was so very welcoming. We were in town for our daughter’s graduation from Texas Tech and Beverly put up red & black “congratulation's grad” signs and decorations and even brought our daughter some beautifully decorated cookies to celebrate with. The extra care was much appreciated, and our stay was wonderful. Book this place!

The Beachcomber had everything we needed for our weekend! Beverly is a great communicator and I was able to contact her with any questions with a quick response. The house was clean and more than enough space for my family of five. We will be back!

This property is absolutely fabulous! The commitment to theme is outstanding. Our hostess is so thoughtful with every touch including island themed soaps, glasses and even garbage bags. She includes so many items in her kitchen and bath that are often forgotten. We had an incredible stay and will return!

We had a really lovely stay at the Beachcomber! The house was wonderful…very clean, thoughtfully stocked, and full of amenities that made it feel comfortable and easy to settle into right away. The decor is super cute and you can tell a lot of care has gone into creating a fun, welcoming space.The only downside was the backyard situation. Based on the listing, we expected it to be private, but it is actually a shared space. While the area itself is nicely set up, it was frequently in use by others during our stay, which took away from the sense of privacy and our ability to enjoy/use the backyard. It would be really helpful if the listing clearly stated that the backyard is shared and/or not a private space so future guests can plan accordingly.

Wedding weekend

What a FUN house to stay in for a weeding weekend. The backyard was a great place to hang out and play games. House was very clean and cozy. Great location for us getting around Lubbock. We only booked for one night but I wish we had booked for 3 nights. Would stay here again.

We had a wonderful experience staying at the Beachcomber. The property was spotlessly clean, decorated island style, and fully stocked with everything we needed for a home away from home stay. We were visiting our son at Tech and he only asked for home cooked meals. This house had all the kitchen essentials for us to make his favorite meal. The outdoor tiki space out back was fun and festive with lawn games, tv, and fire pit. Beverly was friendly, communicative and genuinely invested in making our stay enjoyable. She responded quickly to questions. She also provided great recommendations to local restaurants. Check in and check out was easy.This house truly felt like home away from home and we look forward to returning. Thank you again Beverly for your hospitality.

My name is Beverly Davis. I live in Lubbock, Texas with my husband, Tony, and daughter, Allison. As a mother, I saw the need for comfortable and inviting student accommodations. Every parent’s greatest joy is knowing that their child feels at home, even while away.
I have always had passion for kids, having worked as a Lifeguard, Summer Camp Counselor, and Pre-School Assistant. For over 20 years and running, I have worked for the local ABC and CBS News Stations, just 3 miles from one of my greatest passions - 21 Raider Alley.
After seeing the need for student housing in 2004, I decided to invest in Texas Tech rental homes. This gave me an opportunity to work with kids while solving every parent’s problem: offering affordable, secure and comfortable accommodations for their children - all while building a great investment for my own daughter!
After buying my first rental on 21st Street, I quickly realized what a great block it was and continued purchasing homes on the block over the next several years. In 2017, I began my mission to provide a home away from home for people traveling to Lubbock for work, pleasure or to visit their children. I decided to turn two of my homes into Airbnbs, and thus, The Bung and The Copacabana were born.
