Beautiful Views of Cumberland Island-Riverfront

Cozy, private house overlooking the salt marshes of The Crooked River. Screened porch with direct views of Cumberland Island and Ceylon Wildlife Management Area. Directly located between Amelia Island, FL and St. Simons Island, Ga. You’re only a short ride to beautiful beaches, Cumberland Island Visitors Center and great shopping and restaurants. Less than a 45-minute drive to JAX airport. Long term rental available.
The downstairs master features a queen bed with full private bathroom. Upstairs the first sleeping area features a full bed while the second area features 2 twin beds. A full bath separates the areas. A sleeper sofa is available in the living room. A public boat launch is less than a 1000' from the house and offers public fishing and ability to launch any size watercraft. The Ceylon WMA is just minutes away and offers outstanding Whitetail Deer, Turkey and wild boar hunting during the respective seasons.

Great Marsh-side Retreat

This was a perfect base for us to explore the surrounding waterways and Cumberland Island by boat, with easy access to the boat ramp just down the street. The home was perfect - comfortable, clean, and well-appointed, with an amazing view of the marsh. We enjoyed our visit and hope to be back again sometime!

Cute place!

The house is cute and decorated nicely. The house was very clean. I had asked prior to arrival if there was a grill, and there was, but the propane tank was empty. When I reached out to the renter about it (and another thing I noticed), they skipped right over the propane tank and never responded to me, but did reply about my other concern. Overall great place, super cute property and nice views! Booking, check in, and checkout (leave sheets on bed, start towels, that’s it!!!) was a breeze.

We are a local family with long ties to this area. We have a commercial Blueberry farm about 20 miles north that takes up a majority of our time. We have 2 boys that also live in this area. We enjoy boating on the Crooked River every chance we get and spend at least 2 weekends a month on one of its many perfect sandbars.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

My grandfather built this house in the late 80s. He enjoyed the river and was a guide on Cumberland Island for many years. He would give walking tours of the Island and cherished it like it was his own. His nick name was "Fat" although he wasn't really a portly fellow, it goes back to his childhood and a child actor named Fatty Arbuckle, to which it said he resembled.

This property is perfect for the family looking to reconnect and enjoy some much need salt therapy. It's private enough to disconnect but close enough to the world to enjoy the many benefits of the "Georgia Keys". The steady sea breeze will make sitting on the porch wonderful and the view ain't bad either.
