Welcome to Cardinal’s Nest - a serene 1-acre retreat in North Raleigh with four bedrooms, two baths, game room, and a fenced mini dog run. Enjoy luxury linens, a fully equipped kitchen, gourmet coffee bar, smart TV, fiber optic Wi-Fi, and workspace. Listen to the babbling creek while you fall asleep (season-dependent), or explore nearby parks and trails. Minutes from shops, restaurants, RDU, WRAL Soccer Park, Wake Tech, Duke, WakeMed, and NC State. Owner-managed with quick, thoughtful communication.

Settle into your North Raleigh sanctuary: a spacious, stylish four-bedroom, two-bath home on a private acre of wooded land. Inside, find an open living area filled with natural light, luxe memory-foam mattresses with premium linens, and a fully stocked kitchen ready for family meals. Gather in the den for poker, board games, or movie nights, or relax on the deck with comfortable seating and a grill. Enjoy the fenced dog area and pet goodies such as beds and blankets. There are also lots of toys and baby gear (pack-n-play, high chair). The gourmet coffee station includes a pour-over setup, pods, French press, and drip as well as an espresso maker! You’ll have fiber optic high-speed Wi-Fi, central heat/AC, smart TVs, a small laundry closet, and thoughtfully designed décor throughout.

* Bed/bedroom layout: Three upstairs bedrooms, all with Queen beds. One downstairs bedroom off the game room with two single beds and two 10" mattress memory foam foldable cots (comfy enough for adults) that can be placed anywhere in the home.

Great location for our visit in Raleigh NC. The host was very responsive and the place was comfy for the 4 of us. Plenty of parking and in a little neighborhood.

Very Comfortable Home

We had a wonderful stay. The house was thoughtfully appointed and had everything that we needed. Location is great, easy access to highway and plenty of restaurants nearby.

Good location plenty of room

The house was good. Great location and nice neighborhood in Raleigh. Nice deck over looks the wooded lot and a very nice dining room table was great for our group. Host was very responsive!

Everything we Needed!!

This home away from home is just that. From the moment we walked through the door, there was a welcome feeling. Decor is beautiful and it is stocked with everything needed and more. Great communication from the host and seamless check in and out.

Very Cute Retreat

This home is gorgeous! Was very clean. Plenty of room for everyone!! We came down for a fitness meetup. We all enjoyed our stay!! Even got our workouts in in the living room <3 Owner was terrific! We would totally stay again!!

Cozy cardinals nest

So cozy! So clean! Barbara thought of everything when decorating and stocking this place. It shows in the extras that She really has her guests in mind. Soft throws, sheets and bedding in each bedroom. Black out curtains in the bedrooms, stocked kitchen that literally left us needing nothing, the deck swing, Bluetooth speakers, filled Brita water in fridge, really I could go on and on

Hello! My name is Barbara, and my little guy is Dante. We are a wildly happy solo duo. We obsess over all things space, science, and AI. We also love treasure hunting at thrift stores and antique stores, baking, and kitties! I am from NY, but lived for ten years in Seattle, seven in Spain, two in Denver, and have finally joined my family here in Raleigh (and we're here to stay)!

I professionally hosted (and cleaned) short-term rentals for 15 years and have always wanted to own one. In the Summer of 2022, Dante and I went on the search for THE perfect home to share with Raleigh-bound travelers and finally found The Cardinal's Nest. I am dedicated to making a good life for my son through this home while showing him the value of hard work mixed with love, kindness, and hospitality. We are honored to share it and hope that it touches our guests' hearts the same way it does ours.

Berkshire Downs is a quiet, peaceful, wooded neighborhood with old-growth trees and friendly neighbors. It's a great place for an evening stroll or jogs with the pup! You can also enjoy Horseshoe Farm or Durant Nature Preserve with a few minutes' drive.

The home is minutes from Triangle Town Center, which has numerous shops & restaurants. and WRAL Soccer Park. Also nearby are Wake Tech College, Downtown Raleigh, RDU, WakeMed & Duke Raleigh, Durham, NC State, Falls Lake, and Buffaloe Rd. Aquatic Center & tons of outdoor recreation!

Things to do in N raleigh:

1. Visit the North Carolina Museum of Art: This museum features a collection of over 40,000 works of art from various cultures and periods.

2. Explore Umstead State Park: This park offers over 5,500 acres of natural beauty and recreational activities such as hiking, fishing, and mountain biking.

3. Check out the North Raleigh Farmers Market: This farmers market offers locally grown produce, handmade crafts, and food trucks for guests to enjoy.

4. Visit the Neuse River Trail: This trail spans over 27 miles and is perfect for hiking, biking or even kayaking on the river.

5. Attend a concert at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek.

6. Shop at North Hills: A popular shopping destination with a variety of high-end shops, restaurants and entertainment options like movie theaters or bowling alleys.
