Owls Head Waterfront House

We had a lovely week. Really comfortable house overlooking the water. Great for kayaking at high tide, eating and relaxing on the shady deck, exploring Rockland and sleeping in the comfortable beds.We definitely would like to visit again!

We enjoyed a great week here in Owls Head. The house is just as advertised, with a fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable living room, and an awesome back porch, back yard, and view of the harbor. We definitely plan to return.

Perfect Home Base

This was our second year staying here, and we couldn’t be happier! The locations is quick and easy to anything you want to do in Rockland, and has a beautiful view out the back deck if all you want to do is relax with a couch made for napping.

Beautiful water front

We loved our week at this place. It was very spacious and comfortable; house was very clean and very wellStocked with everything we needed.Location was excellent , view from the house is amazing. Communication with the owner and care taker was very timely and helpful. We highly recommend this house.

We had a fabulous vacation here. This was our first trip to Maine. The house was clean, comfy, and had every amenity we needed as well as in the perfect location in Owl’s Head. Just a quick drive into Rockland, we enjoyed the Famous Lobster Festival our first weekend. We also met Bert who sells live lobsters daily across the street and ate a delicious lobster dinner. We also dined out at Ada’s, Orimo’s, and Claws in town. We took a day trip to Acadia, walked around Bar Harbor. We also visited two lighthouses and enjoyed nearby Crescent Beach. Our family of six made a lot of new memories!

The location couldn’t be beat. We went on this trip with our 10 year old and my husband’s mother and it was the perfect amount of space. Comfy couch for lounging inside, spacious dining table for indoors. Our favorite thing was the deck furniture (a large table with umbrella and an outdoor couch and chairs) to sit outside and watch the water. It was amazing to see the tide go in and out and my daughter had fun collecting sea glass at the little beach off the property and walking far out when the tide was low. Host was friendly and very communicative. Would recommend and come again!

A Slice of Heaven

This was our second year enjoying this gorgeous home at the head of the bay. With a spacious deck and lawn for, beautiful view, and well-appointed but minimal interior (so you have everything you need, but a sense of calm pervades), this has been our favorite place to gather as a family, let cousins play and find shells, rocks, and seaglass. We arrived to a spotless, airy, dream home, and soaked in the relaxing atmosphere all week. The location is just a few minutes from all that Owl’s Head and Rockland has to offer. It’s a coastal-Maine-lover’s dream!

Perfect Restful Stay. we didn't need to be anywhere else!!!

Great for relaxing, swimming, cooking, dinning together....close to everything on the mid coast. The light here is amazing, the place is spacious and inviting. it was a perfect week.

Perfect Mid-Coast Stay

This house is just an absolute perfect location for exploring the Rockland area. We stayed three weeks and the house never felt small or uncomfortable. The yard was wonderful for the kiddos, and we loved the couch and the views of the Rockland light. We would absolutely go back!

Beautiful home on the waters edge

We loved our stay! Right on the water and close enough to a hopping town. Highly recommend them and Jen was a great host. We'll be looking to book next year very soon.

New Favorite Place

This is our 2nd year renting at this beautiful location. We love everything about it-especially walking when the tide is out. It is peaceful and relaxing. And we can bring our lab who loves to swim. We will return again next year!

Stunning at every angle!

I’ve never stayed in a spot and felt more at home with the decor and surroundings than at Head of Bay. The view from every window is lovely - the water, the gardens, the woods…the beds were comfy, house super well stocked. Seriously, I could see myself living here. The shops, galleries and restaurants in town were perfect. Small town feel but not sleepy. Just lovely, lovely, lovely!

A week in Maine

This was our first trip to this part of the US and we certainly weren’t disappointed! Great and very well equipped house in a great location with easy access to local amenities and all that coastal Maine has to offer. Very much enjoyed the outdoor space and access to the shore. Would definitely recommend and hope to return some day soon!

Beautiful, relaxing stay in Owl's Head

We absolutely loved this house and it's incredible view, with access to a small pebbly beach. The house was great, with a well-equipped kitchen and fast wifi and a nice big table where the whole family could eat and play games comfortably. The property was well maintained, and Jennifer was really responsive to any issues that came up. We hope to be back soon!

Airy, clean, and modern with gorgeous ocean view

Airy, clean & modern with lovely vintage decor touches throughout. Beautiful ocean views. Some street noise can be heard but the peaceful and private, nicely landscaped back lawn, large deck, really nice deck furniture & ocean views more than make up for that. A gem we’d love to come back to next summer. 10/10

The view to the inlet was very nice - we enjoyed the large deck out back and collecting sea glass at low tide. We also brought our kayaks and went looking at the ospreys fishing on the other shore line across from the house. It was safe and pleasant kayaking.In the house we found quite a few things missing for making meals there. We had picked the house based on the large kitchen thinking it was well equipped for cooking.Some basic things we missed were:A Bread Cutting knifeSalad SpinnerGrill utensils - particularly the brush to glean the grillAlu foil and shrink wrap - make sure you bring it yourself.Containers w lid for food storageThere were no napkins or place mats - paper or fabric. Only one kitchen towel roll - bring your own.No bath towels or at least what was there were thin and small. There were lots of them though.We also found the proximity to the heavy traffic road a bit of a concern when bringing pets as the yard was not enclosed.All in all we had a wonderful time and visited Rockland several times the local light houses, the many galleries and book stores, Camden and to the south we went to Port Clyde and Spruce Head.So much beautiful scenery.We went to the Prime Restaurant which was top notch and can highly recommend to dine there. Just down the road from the house.

Great beach exploring

We had a great time exploring the beach at low tide. Playing catch with three little girls and a dog, lots of outdoor space for them to play. Beautiful clean house with everything you could need. The best place to walk the shore and collect sea glass! You even have ping pong in the basement. Close to many hiking areas, light houses, museums , antique shops, lots of activities and private shoreline. Very friendly and easy to reach. I would recommend this house for your vacation

Peaceful paradise

We have been staying in the mid coast Maine area for vacation over the last decade and our family agreed that this house in Owl’s Head was the best of all. Every detail has been considered for guests and the house is light-filled, immaculate and comfortable. The location is perfect- we saw so much wildlife, kayaked every day, and had fantastic meals just down the road in Rockland (Ada’s is our favorite). Jen is a very responsive and accommodating host. Can we give it 10 stars??

Peace & Quiet

Beautiful property and home that is very private. We brought our labs, which is always a bonus. They swam every day right in the backyard. The view is gorgeous and during low tide you can walk for at least 1/2 mile out to the ocean. House was clean and had everything we needed, many towels, beach chairs, kitchen was stocked, and grill and outside deck were awesome. Downtown Rockland is minutes away with shops and great restaurants. We absolutely loved it and plan on returning next summer!
