Adorable, historic 1870’s Farmhouse on two acres. “So cute!” (Said the last guest). Enjoy the peace and quiet of country living. Yet close to all the activities the St. Joseph River community has to offer. Nestled between Buchanan & Berrien Springs, enjoy Fernwood Nature Center, River Saint Joe’s dining, wineries incl. Domaine Berrien Cellars around the corner, farmers’ markets, biking & hiking trails, boating, kayaking, bird watching, bicycling. Floating down the river. Snow skiing or snowmobiling.The St. Joe River Miami Marina boat launch is just 7 mins away! For Beaching, it’s just a short drive to the Lake Michigan beaches. The Farm is private yet accessible! Fully equipped kitchen for the most discerning gourmet chef. Oven, dishwasher, cook top, a gas & charcoal grill, 2 different coffee makers, Kerrig, and drip, and large side deck off the kitchen facing beautiful, large green space for entertaining. Outdoor fire pit for enjoying stories around the camp fire. Hammock to relax in. Enjoy sitting on the front porch in your comfy rocker enjoying the sunset, or relax on the covered, back porch while grilling. If inclement weather, the covered porch is a blessing. A perfect place for a romantic getaway for just two with the primary bedroom on the first level. Or enjoy a group outing as we sleep 12 comfortably with one first floor bedroom & five upstairs bedrooms. TV on wheels to move where you want it! Ask about our rates for hosting a special event such as a small wedding, party or family reunion. We have a tent available for rent and can arrange all the details with you! Handicap accessible with ramp and first floor bedroom/bathroom. Enjoy the St. Joe River for fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, or hiking. Canoe and kayak rentals on the Dowagiac River or St. Joseph River. There are two nature preserves within miles and two boat launches at your finger tips. Check out Stover U-pick Fruit Farm or Kugel Fruit Market. Visit the many tasting rooms and wineries in Southwest Michigan’s Wine Country! Enjoy the warm Summer sunshine, Wonderful fall foliage and many winter sports activities or just relax on the Farm! This is a nature lover’s paradise. Dogs welcome. Games for the dogs or kids. Very kind, very clean and you would not know that it’s pet friendly which I’m grateful for as I have allergies. Lovely historic home with lots of rooms and a beautiful view.

It was a cute little house and when I first pulled up and went inside I thought there is a lot of potential here. However, the house is in need of little repairs, coffee maker doesn't really work, and is quite an odd layout with a bathroom and bedroom without proper doors. The kitchen is hot (no AC there) and is moderately stocked (I've seen worse but also seen better). Overall, I'd say the "little things" were lacking that help guests overlook the minor inconveniences. Not enough TP or paper towels, only 2 dish washing pods for 5 nights and 11 people, handsoap nearly gone in bathrooms, and overall felt the owner was a little chintzy (not even any laundry detergent). Definitely potential but the host needs to up her game in the little things to overcome the downsides of the property. Bottom line is we were not uncomfortable per se, but we won't be staying here again.

Overall, this place is not worth the amount of money they charge. They lock certain bedrooms and just give you the rooms they want to.We ended up with ones with shower curtains for the doorways. The upstairs bathroom also had a shower curtain and not a door.. When recalled, they didn't offer to come and fix anything.They just offered to give us a refund and we were kind of stuck staying there the first night because we had nowhere else to go.

We booked from July 31-August 4th for my graduation from Andrews University with my Phd. We invited family to come and wanted to stay in a place together. We had 3 children, which I did not think counted the same as Adults, so I was also surprised by her question. The next thing I saw was that she charged me 150/per person extra to cover this. They put a blow-up mattress on the floor that was deflated. When I told her that we only had 6 with 3 kids, she said, "That is your mistake, and basically, she was not going to do anything about it." The host was quite rude and told me to look at the glass half full, and that it's too bad.I then tried to contact her about a few other things:There was also not enough toilet paper or paper towels in the house. There were also a lot of flies all over the house and it smelled funny. In addition to the smell of the house, the upstairs bathroom seal on the toilet was not closed, and there was a sewer smell in the bathroom that was coming in through the adjacent bedroom. The coffee maker was gross when we got there, still had old coffee grinds. We went to the store to get toilet paper and several fly traps, a fly swatter, and spray to make the house smell better. This house is also not good for the elderly. Be aware that the stairs are not up to code, and lots of slip rugs for falling. We made the best of it, but we're still upset about the host's reaction and the overcharge for the stay.

Child Friendly

Great place to stay with small children. There was a fun bunk bed for our toddler and they provided baby gates so that our baby couldn’t climb up the stairs. We had a great visit with family.

Memories Made

Enjoyed a nice relaxing time with family and celebrating Thanksgiving. The house was awesome, and it reminded us of our farmhouse in Virginia. The big table allowed us to have a wonderful meal. We will defiantly use this house again when we visit.

Had a great day… My wife loved the charm of the farmhouse features and we had a great family bonfire on a cool November night 👍 Lots of games and everything you need.

Nice farm home in quite surroundings

This is a very nice old farm house. The inside has been re done and was very nice. We stayed 2 nights to attend the NIU at Notre Dame football game. Very short drive to South Bend. Most of our time was spent outside enjoying the fire pit. Every room had a window air conditioner and an oscillating fan which made for a comfortable temperature. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and accessories which was very helpful. More than most VRBO's we have stayed. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed staying at the farm!

We all loved the Farm! We had adults and children totaling 12 people and we all had space to roam. The Farm was clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. The beds were comfy, the towels were fluffy and the kitchen was well stocked. We all enjoyed making s’mores and talking around the campfire at night.We enjoyed being out in the country and star watching. It was a great stay.

Even more lovely than expected.

Immaculate. Comfortable beds and sofas. Beautiful artwork and furnishings. Enjoyable outdoor spaces. Terrific selection of kitchenware. Note: high toilet in accessible bathroom. Few dressers.
