The home was very comfortable and a great location for our group. Owner was extremely responsive to questions and kind enough to extend our check-out time. Given the guests had to make beds with provided sheets, I would have expected cleaner mattress protectors, pillows, and comforters. All of the above needed an upgrade.

Perfect House For Us

Everything was as described in the listing, the house was clean and had everything we needed. We had a lot of windy days and rough surf with double red flags on the beach so the pool got a lot of use. The location in Nags Head meant we never had to drive far. If you're headed down, I can't recommend the Dolphin watch (the magnet is on the fridge) and the night-time bioluminescence kayak tour.

Great Stay!

We can’t say enough great things about our stay! Mike is a wonderful host and the house was just perfect. The location couldn’t be better with access to beach, restaurant, market, pier etc all within a 1 minute walk. Thank you for everything!!

Great location. Great host. Could be cleaner

This house is located in a great location, just across the street from Jeanette’s pier and right beside Whalebone Park, perfect for kids. Great host and easy to work with. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the house was disappointing. It was also interesting the only cups in the house were either coffee cups or wine glasses, neither of which are suitable for children.

Not peach , but sweet !

Everything was wonderful…. However we were delayed at airport. Didn’t get there till midnight, was looking for a peachy colored house… as on Vrbo app. But it was blue 😂

Girls Trip - August 2024

Where do I even start about our trip. From the moment we walked in the door, you were in Paradise. The house was perfect. The location, well you could not ask for a better location. The beach is right across the street and the sound view from the upper deck is amazing. The most beautiful sunsets. The pool was amazing, and our girls loved it especially coming home from the beach and washing off and then spending time in the pool. The host was amazing. The few very small questions that I had, the immediately responded. You are in walking distance of the shops. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Wonderful Experience! Will Be Back Next Year!

We are thoroughly pleased with this home, location and Owner! We stayed for 2 weeks which included the first week with some family for our beach wedding and the second week, just us for our honeymoon. The home was not too big and not too small, just right. At first we thought that the 3 levels would seclude people, but the space and layout worked out perfectly. The pool was a good size (watch out for the sharp drop off about 5 or 6 steps in!), plenty of chairs to lounge around on, nice porch swing on the back lower deck to enjoy beautiful Sound sunsets in the evenings. The Owner is right that you could potentially park your car and not move it again until you are ready to leave. The location is great! We happen to love Sam & Omie's, so knew that it would be a good spot for us to begin with. The Pier is a wonderful addition and we walked to it a few times during our stay. The Beach Access is so close that you dont feel it is a chore to walk there from the house. Especially if using the beach buggy that is provided. We only encountered one hiccup while there and that was when the dryer couldnt be turned on due to a stripped Start Knob. I emailed the Owner that evening and he had someone at the house the very next day to fix it. He was also very apologetic for the misshap. Never have we encounted Owners that are this quick to make sure that we were satisfied and comfortable. The Owners could be reached at any time, day or night for any reason, if needed. Luckily, we did not need to bother them because we had everything that we needed! Our favorite places to eat are at Sam & Omies and Blue Moon. We tried the Blue Moon on the suggestion of the Owners and thought it was some of the best food on the island that we have ever had. We will certainly go back there each year for a meal or two! We plan on booking this property each summer for our vacations for many years to come. Thank you to the Owners for allowing us to use your space. We enjoyed ourselves very much in your lovely home!

Highly recommend

Of all the places we have stayed, OBX Life 2 has the most comfortable beds and living room furniture. More than that, the location is perfect, and the views of the sound and the ocean are relaxing.

Pure Bliss

We’ve stayed here many times over the years but this was our first with children. It was a pure bliss week and magical! The house is as always, clean, well stocked, roomy, ideal location, and decorated to perfection! We love this property and cannot wait to come back next summer!

Good location

The house was clean & it is in a very convenient location. We loved being able to walk to Sam and Omies. The pool was great & 2 outdoor showers with warm water were nice as well.

Great Vacation get away

We just got home today. We had a great stay. Mike is great to work with, I couldn’t find our linens and he was so quick to respond to my message and help me locate them. The house was spaced out nicely to where you aren’t on top of each other. The yard space was perfect for my French bulldog. The kids really enjoyed the pool after coming back from the beach each day. The park within walking distance was a great bonus as well. Google maps had me alittle worried about the distance to the beach, but not a issue at all, from the house to my feet touching the sand was maybe 2 mins. Can’t wait to book with Mike again!

Great family rental near the beach

Really nice spot right across the street from the beach and Jennette's pier. The kids loved the bunk beds room, and although one of the beds was fairly squeaky, mostly everyone slept well. Being right next to the playground is really nice for families with little kids.

Overall Review

Property is not in great repair and needs some attention. Hot water did not work in master bathroom or kitchen. Faucet in kitchen was not working properly. There were no glasses in the property other than wine glasses. Property did not appear that clean. The property is okay but is not as good as it looks online.

Nice location.

House is well maintained and cared for. Location is wonderful. First time staying in Nags Head, typically go to Avon. It was nice to be able to walk the area rather than drive all the time.

Very accommodating

Excellent location!

We have been traveling to this area of the Outer Banks for many years and this was, by far, our best experience. The house was perfect for our stay-my husband and I, our adult daughter and my Dad. There is a nice pool, a dog run right off the first floor bedroom which offered a safe place to let our dog out. The location was awesome, we could walk to the beach and to Jeanette’s Pier. The view from the decks were very nice. Most of all the property manager, Mike was great! He was very responsive and made our travel experience easy. Highly recommend this property and will be going back hopefully again soon!

You saved our summer!

From my family to yours, thank you so much for such an incredible accommodation. You literally saved our summer! We visited with another family (6 people in total) and the house was perfect for our families. The location was so incredibly convenient (quiet strip across from the beach) and the house afforded a lot of charm - I can tell how much warmth and love you put into the place. The back deck and pool area for were perfect for early evening cocktails and appetizers. Mike - thanks again for being so responsive - we will definitely come back!

Mike and Renee Olson. They met in OBX during our college summer breaks 1987 - 1993. Mike was an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard for Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head Ocean Rescue. Renee worked at Capt'n Franks and Birthday Suits. They have two children Meganne and Max. They enjoy the Outer Banks and know it very well. They thought this house would be perfect because it's not too big and is the perfect size for one or two families. The price is very reasonable for all you get.

When we decided to purchase our second rental home the perfect location was a priority to us. Having everything you need close by and not have to fight traffic is important so you can settle in fast and start enjoying your vacation. Restaurants, beach, shopping, fishing, are all in walking an from the house. Also, having the longest and first cement pier with an aquarium across the street is EXCITING!

The sunsets views overlooking the sound are incredible you must have your camera ready from the back deck! Walking out 1000' on Jennette's pier and watching the Porpoises play! So close to restaurants, shopping, and of course the beach.
