Waterfront retreat on quiet cove - Sleeps 20

Landlords in the area BEWARE of this guest. We dispute and disagree with what they are claiming. Their first name on the review and their name on their profile also do not match, which is not ok and they should not be allowed to hide behind a false first name or “nickname.” I am alarmed that VRBO allows this and we have reported it. As for the review, we did not hear from the guest until the second day of their stay when they reached out about the pool being dirty. We immediately responded, apologized and contacted the pool maintenance company to come that day, of course! I apologized and aside from a few questions about the tv and remotes (which we had extra batteries in the garage) I asked the guest how everything else was and he responded “GOING WELL.” He THANKED me for my help! We can see the pool pretty clearly from our back patio security camera and I have multiple photos of the pool being blue and their family jumping in the pool since the first day and appeared to have a great time in the pool throughout the stay. Even the pool maintenance company said the pool was not that dirty, but of course we took it seriously and had them come out. They used the pool the ENTIRE stay. Because he said the stay was “going well”, I was shocked to receive multiple very long text messages immediately after they left (nothing was sent through VRBO). This person threatened to leave a bad review and implied we “fix it” before they posted their review. They have ZERO photos of the “dirty” house (which had been cleaned 3 days before, and is thoroughly cleaned and mopped, every week, of course!!) We take cleanliness seriously. They took ZERO photos of bugs inside or outside. The home is by the woods and on the lake- we have pest control come every 3 weeks!!! We stay on top of this as much as humanly possible. The only photo he sent me was a photo of a stained mattress protector, under the sheet, from one of the trundle beds. That was their only proof of anything dirty. A mattress protector. This was a far reach and blatant attempt to look for something dirty to send to me as proof of their "terrible" stay. **They** did however leave our home with blood stained towels, confetti all over the bed and floors, and took or threw away a handful of large shampoo containers that were full that we provide and keep stocked for guests. I have photos of all of this but unfortunately, I cannot post to this thread but have reported. They purposefully made a mess and then accused us of being the dirty ones. It is so sad that people do this and he looked for any little thing to accuse us of, complain about, once gone of course, and he will do this again wherever they travel, I am certain. Our home has had over 25 guests stay and we have had almost ALL 5 star reviews. We take cleanliness and hospitality very seriously spend a lot of time and money to have it properly cleaned and maintained each week. We do our best! As you can see from the other reviews on the rental platforms. We are very surprised and upset that this review is allowed because of all the inconsistencies.
