Extremely funky cool house built into the boulders with actual boulders inside the home. Please find us on air bee and bee we are leaving this platform.
2 bedrooms 1.5 bathrooms Historic home one of the original funky yet cool private pool and jacuzzi sits on a seasonal stream lots of wildlife. Base of Black Mountain abundant trail system right from the house for hiking or biking. Walk to the bars and restaurants in less than 10 minutes. this is my personal home, so I do live in it when it is not rented you will find a lot of personal touches and artwork from around the world. I worked for National Geographic and have been a big collector of interesting art. This house is down a dirt road. It is country living at its best. I do have a guest house on the property, but it is far enough away that you still have total privacy. When my home is rented for long periods of time, I love to travel and I also go to our log cabin in Colorado, which is also listed on the Rental platform. I am a super host on the website. I have been a host since 2016. I take pride in my homes. It is a constant work in progress. I am continuing to improve it every year.

Fun & Funky Retreat

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the unique features and privacy of this home! It was well appointed, clean, comfortable and close to restaurants and shops in Cave Creek and Carefree. We would definitely stay there again. Lori was a wonderful host!

Great getaway spot!

The property is in a peaceful area just outside of Cave Creek. Really close to all the things that Cave Creek has to offer. We enjoyed nice calm afternoons, watching the wildlife from the pool area. From the property we were able to hear coyotes at night and packs of Havelinas, jackrabbits and road runners during the day. The bedrooms are all comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay..

Just what we needed

My Wife and I had a fantastic stay at Lori’s property! This location is great for anyone wanting to feel like they’ve stumbled into a hidden country gem, while only being minutes out of Scottsdale. We enjoyed catching the sun set every night in the hot tub, and the sun rises relaxing in the hammock. Lori and her dog were always ready to answer questions, and gave us daily Suggestions on things we might do. We’d love to come back!

Great Property Manager, Neat Area

Our stay had some issues come up, but we got everything resolved by working with the property manager. When everything is in working order it’d be a great little area to hang out and relax. Lots of interesting wildlife to watch as well.

Great stay but...

We enjoyed our stay but found out too many things that weren't disclosed until we checked in. Some were a problem and some were not but might be for some people. Central air not working and the electrical issues were the biggest disappointments. The owner was very nice and accommodating. the house has nice amenities, is inviting, and enjoyable. Wish we had been told of the specifics before we booked so we could manage our expectations.

Unique Getaway

Honestly, everything was great. The property was unique and it was in a beautiful location. However, the air conditioning was out and it's one of the hottest times of the year so it was extremely hot at night. Also the power kept turning on and off which was a problem because we had food and drinks in the fridge and ice in the freezer. Also, when the power went out it was impossible to get in contact with Lori to see what what could be done to fix it. Also, I understand with the location in the mountains/desert there will be bugs around but I saw a few spiders on the inside so it might be time for a bug spray. Overall, things were okay. Lori was very nice. It would have definitely been better with A.C. and reliable power. Would stay here again if these things were fixed. :)

Paradise!

Lori is an incredible host. She makes you feel welcome and at home. Her home and the grounds surrounding it are paradise. I cannot express how fantastic our stay was.

Wonderful stay and perfect location

Myself and two friends stayed a few days at this fun, eclectic home. The location is perfect, the host absolutely wonderful and house a Mecca close to everything Cave Creek has to offer. It was difficult to decide whether to hang out and relax by the pool or venture out to enjoy the local entertainment, we did both while time flew by. Excellent home to congregate, have cocktails and enjoy good company. Definitely will be back frequently!

Loved it so much we spent a couple of days without leaving to be a tourist

Great private location with nearby hiking trails, unique shopping and dining and within an hour drive of many other outdoor activities like boat tours, paddling. Lori's outdoor patio, BBQ, Pool, Hot tub, dining area boasts nice views and very well maintained--we enjoyed cooking there more than dining out. Inside is decorated in an abundance of western charm and artifacts--very comfortable and fun, We look forward to returning again. We were a little apprehensive of having an owner so close on the property but it was a non issue and when we had a need for something--it was attended to with a smile and also some good suggestions about the area.

Great place!

We really enjoyed our short stay. The property is a bit funky in a charming way. The backyard with southern exposure, beautiful views, grill, lots of comfortable seating and hot tub was the highlight. The place is not handicap or elderly friendly due to the many interior steps. About a three-minute drive to downtown Cave Creek. Lori was very easy to work with. Would definitely stay again!

Southwestern Eclectic Hideaway

Our stay here was just as we expected it to be and then some! Every inch of the generous abode was totally decorated with southwestern/cowboy flair, which was reflected in the owner's genuine personality. An occasional meeting over coffee or a glass of wine was always entertaining but unobtrusive. Our February stay made it too cool to use the pool, but the new jaccuzzi was great for awesome star-viewing in the evenings. Our 25 lb. mini labradoodle loved the desert environment which treated us to coyote sightings, roadrunners, and javelinas. Near great hiking trails, Cave Creek bars and entertainment, and a short drive to Spring Training games. Nice, friendly quiet neighbors.
