Downtown, Fiserv Forum, Wis. Ctr, Lakefront, Summerfest, Zoo, Med College, breweries within 5 mi. Big backyard w/patio, fire pit & gas grill. No smoking, no pets, no more than 8 ppl allowed onsite. Don’t try to throw a party here, you will be asked to leave. Free onsite parking. Garage available upon request.

This house was absolutely wonderful for our family. Close to downtown as well as so many attractions, it felt like we were ten minutes from everything. Our kids were asking when we could come back before we left.

Great stay

Hawley House was perfect for our family of 5 to stay for a long weekend. Comfy beds, vintage decor, and plenty of space. Appreciated the easy check-in and pizza recommendation.

A great place to stay! It was exactly what we needed, and the amenities provided were very thoughtful. Very easy check-in process, and no crazy check-out requirements. Most everything was very clean - the only reason that I gave 4 stars for cleanliness was because there was old dried food under the coffee table in the living room, which my toddler found. We would definitely stay agian!

Rental was VERY CLEAN & well stocked! There were extra towels (YEAH) & left cell #s if needed to reach out (easier than using VRBO app when actually traveling). Host was thoughtful in making sure there was basic conveniences like plastic wrap, tissues, coffee & extra blankets. House had games to play and space for our family to hang out. Located close to downtown & freeway.One bathroom is alittle tight, but that is just what the little old house is. Very comfortable and decorated like a home.

Fabulous Mid Century Getaway

We had an excellent time here! The listing was accurate, they provided more than what we needed, linens and towels were hotel grade as well! We came down to shop and see Christmas lights and this was a cozy stay afterwords. Host was responsive and listing was even better than expected. Would recommend to any friends looking to stay in Milwaukee!

Great location. Clean, safe home

Excellent spot if you are visiting the city of Milwaukee. Easy access to downtown. The spot was quiet, safe and clean. The hostess is kind and responsive. I’m thankful I found this property, and I would totally stay here again. It was a great experience and a good value.

At home on Hawley Rd.

We found the house welcoming and comfortable. The decor was pleasant. The only downside was that we could not arrive until 3:00 pm and needed to be out by 10:00 am (without making a special request for more time or paying more). For a family in two cars coming from out of town, this timing (especially getting everyone out that early on Saturday morning) was not prefferred.

One day Concert

Everything was great as the online description said. Dawn, let us check in a little bit early because we were limited for time for our concert on Saturday. Only thing we didn’t like was Sunday morning at 8:30AM, we were in the driveway playing basketball and the weird lady next door came over and told us to stop because they were trying to sleep. If we’re ever in the Milwaukee area again I’ll definitely stay here. Thank you Dawn!

THE HOUSE HAD SOME BEAUTIFUL TOUCHES THAT MADE IT FEEL MORE LIKE HOME. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO COOK A MEAL AND PLENTY OF DISHES, SO YOU REALLY DO NOT NEED TO BRING ANYTHING BUT YOUR FOOD! OWNER WAS FRIENDLY WITH GREAT COMMUNICATION SKILLS! EVERYTHING WAS VERY CLEAN AND WELCOMING. THE KING SIDE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE! THE CLEANING FEE MAY SEEM A BIT HIGH, BUT REMEMBER, THIS IS NOT A HOTEL BUT A HOME THAT NEEDS TO BE CLEANED WITH THREE BEDROOMS AND A BATH PLUS THE REST OF THE HOUSE! YOU CAN TELL THE OWNER TAKES EXCELLENT CARE OF THIS PROPERTY WITH NO CORNERS CUT. WE VERY MUCH ENJOYED OUR STAY AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY!

Wouldn’t recommend staying at this property

The house overall was descent. Left it cleaner than it was upon arrival. But the owner of the property was extremely rude. There was some minor damage to two of the doors. Just some scratches that needed minor paint touch up. Took responsibility for it and offered to pay to fix it obviously. It was so minor and the owners response was “I contemplated not charging you” and because I must have missed picking up a pile of my service dogs #2 outside she charged me 150$. After I already paid a standard property cleanup. don’t stay here

It's unfortunate when guests are dishonest and do not take responsibility for their actions. I have never had less than a 5 star review on Vrbo or Airbnb. Our house rules clearly state to inform us if accidents happen so we can take care of issues before our next guests arrive. All guests deserve an outstanding experience. Matt chose not to tell us and when asked about the damage when our cleaning crew informed us, said he didn't know what happened and thought his drunk grandpa caused the damage. When I showed him pictures of the damage and his dog entering the home, he confessed that his "service" dog (which wasn't listed on the reservation) may have done it and agreed to pay for the damage. Knowing he was dishonest and was worried he would leave a dishonest review, I considered not charging him. But then, when we were mowing the lawn, we found multiple (at least 7) piles of dog feces (he was there for 5 days) I decided to charge him for the damage to cover materials, time to repair (sanding off the paint he used to try to cover up the damage), repainting, and running ozone machines to try to remove the paint smell before our next guests arrived. I had to take time off of my day job to take care of his mess. Lastly, Matt brought in an extra guest for two nights, (I overlooked that trying to be a gracious host) and he did not leave the house cleaner than when they arrived. That is a complete and utter lie. Our kitchen was disgusting when they left. Vrbo has been informed and has a copy of the conversation with Matt.

Excellent property

The house was well kept and well stocked and very comfortable. We had everything we needed and more. Comfortable bedding, lovely towels, all dishes and cookware to eat in. Little amenities were an extra pleasure… enough toilet paper! (Yes, we’ve stayed in many VRBO’s where we’ve had to request more or go shopping for it ourselves!) Kleenex, soap, shampoo, USB ports, games… we used it all and it was very appreciated! Thank you to the owner for such thoughtfulness. We would love to stay here again next time we visit family in Milwaukee.

Great place!

This home was perfect for our family! Great location, easy access to get anywhere you need around Milwaukee. Just minutes from Wisconsin Lutheran, and grocery stores & restaurants nearby. Dawn was so easy to work with, communication was great, answered all our questions. This is my first time to use VRBO & she definitely boost my confidence that I will do it again, and hopefully her home will be available again.

My husband John and I live about 20 minutes from Hawley House with our two teenage children. I am a Milwaukee native and run a vintage furniture and decor (Mid Century Modern) reselling business as a hobby.
We are available as needed. We will not be on the property during your stay unless it is an extended stay of more than 2 days. We may need access to basement through the back door for stays longer than 2 days. We will always give you advance notice.

Hawley House MKE sits on the border of Wauwatosa, Story Hill, and Milwaukee. Directly across the street is the historic Calvary Cemetery and Memorial Park that offers beautiful grounds and walking paths. The house faces East and you can enjoy the stunning sunrise out the front picture window, or gorgeous sunsets on the rear three season sunroom. Many great restaurants and pubs are within walking distance.

Hawley House is centrally located to everything in Milwaukee. Milwaukee is a very assessible city- major traffic jams are rare and you can get "anywhere" within 15 minutes.

Welcome to Hawley House! Here’s a few tips to make your stay easy and comfortable.

Feel free to adjust the thermostat to your liking. The thermostat is programmable… you can adjust the temp for days/times. Please adhere to max 72 degrees for heat and minimum 69 degrees for A/C/cooling. Please lock the front and back door and lower the blinds before you leave for any length of time. Outdoor quiet time is 12am -5am.

The queen room seems to be the warmest of all the rooms. If you get too warm, open the back window.

There are extra blankets and pillows in each closet. The extra blankets and pillows for the twin room are in the trunks at the foot of the bed.

The roll away bed, folding cot, and pack n' play are in the king room closet.

The TV in the living room has an Amazon prime firestick and digital antenna for local stations.

The TV in the queen room is a Roku smart TV and also has an antenna for local stations.

The TV in the king room has an antenna for local stations and Roku streaming stick.

The water from the faucet is very good (at least in my opinion). I’ve always liked the quality of Milwaukee’s water compared to other areas. Use for drinking and cooking without worry.

You’ll find over-the-counter medicines and first aid kit in the medicine cabinet.

Cleaning supplies are under the kitchen sink and in the hallway closet should you need them. We do not have a washer and dryer available for guest use. There is a laundromat (Blue Mound Coin Laundry) about two blocks away on 61st and Blue Mound Rd.

Games are stored in the front hall closet.
