Here are a few things that I really liked:1. Beachfront - you walk a few steps and you’re in the water! No houses or streets between you and the beach. Great views of the gulf, especially from the 3rd floor condo.2. Spacious - we comfortably had 7 people.3. Quality - this may sound strange but I was really happy with the quality of towels. If someone has nice towels and linens then they take everything seriously. Everything was very nice!4. Proximity - we were only 9 minutes from the boat dock where we went on a fishing charter boat. Tons of souvenir shops and tasty restaurants nearby.5. Communication - the hosts were super fast to respond and helpful with advice.A few interesting notes:It took us 44 minutes to get to the airport.We stopped at a Walmart in Corpus Christi on our way from the airport to buy our food for the week. There was plenty of refrigerator space as there are 2 full refrigerators.They have a ton of fun board and card games in the house.The pickleball and tennis courts look new.The beach gear was great: chairs, boogie boards, etc.

This location was excellent for our family. The condo had everything from puzzles and games to beach gear. Everyone from age 2 to 65 was comfortable. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen had anything you would need. The bar area and extra fridge was handy for drinks and storing food supplies and drinks for our group. It was a short walk to the beach and also near the pool. We can’t wait for our next visit to ‘CaraCara’ to enjoy the TastyWaves.

Never been to a beach

My sister-in-law is 67 and has never been to the beach so this was a surprise. She said she will never forget it. It made her life so much happier. Stephanie, the owner was always just a phone call away and very helpful.

Cara Cara Island Reteat

We had an excellent stay at this property. We are all (4) 65+ and stairs were not a problem. Awesome patio and sun porch with great views and sunshine. Very comfortable beds. Spacious living room, kitchen and dining room. Well equipped. Definitely want to stay here again!

Everything about our stay was wonderful. Property was clean was large enough for my family of 6. Kitchen, dining room and living. Book with detailed instructions was very helpful. Great view and easy access to beach. Will use again in the future!

Family Vacay

We came to Port A for a big Family vacay and had our parents up on the 3rd floor and they never left except to actually go home. Loved being above the dunes and watching everything.

Great experience

You can tell the owner put a lot of thought and caring in all the extras they provided such as games, robes , kuerig, beach/ pool toys etc. The beds are very comfortable. The view of ocean great.

Perfect spot with a view

You can’t beat this view and just short walk across the boardwalk to the beach. Stephanie was quick to respond to any questions and the condo was very relaxing. It had everything we needed and was very quiet. We enjoyed watching and listening to the waves roll in.

Family vacation

We loved this place. It’s was a perfect location to the beach and to town. The condo was beautiful and clean. The property manager answered me right away when I text her. We didn’t have to bring a lot of stuff. Condo had everything. My 3 year didn’t want to love. We will be back soon. If you looking for a spot that is a minute or two walk to the beach this is the condo for you.. love the place and location..

A Little About Us: Stephanie was raised in Reno, Nevada, where she learned to love hiking, birding, climbing, and outdoor adventures. Prior to moving to Texas, Steph lived in Boulder, Colorado, where she conducted scientific experiments as part of BP's response to the Deepwater Horizon blowout in the Gulf of Mexico. She then lived in Berkeley, California, where she obtained her law degree. Bryan was born at the Ft. Riley army base. Prior to moving to Texas for law school, Bryan lived in Wisconsin, Michigan, Chicago, New York, Germany, and Atlanta, where Bryan wore many hats, including line-cook, musician, organ courier, and middle-school teacher. Bryan loves deep dives into history and is an avid reader. Bryan and Steph currently live in Austin and hope to start a family. In the meantime, they've raised 2 cats--Kitty Whompus and Kitty Carson--who stay at home while Bryan and Steph continue chasing new adventures. We hope you enjoy your time at our mountain and beach homes as much as we do!
