Excellent place to stay for a little getaway. Extremely unique property but checked all the boxes for a great stay. The history of the building was such a fun piece of information and the decor lined up great with it.

Had a wonderful weekend in Centerville visiting friends and attending a wedding. The location of this VRBO was exceptional for our needs. As previous residents of Centreville, we always admired the Captain’s Quarters as wonderful historic buildings. Finally got to experience staying in one. The old growth pine floors have a wonderful patina and the perfect faint creak. As advertised the stairways are steep and narrow and historic. Just took our time and caution managing them. The owners have thoughtfully placed handholds to help. Crew’s Quarters on the ground level have a great brick floor and game room vibe. The upper floor is complete with a comfortable bed and full bath. Overall a great stay. Responsive host, location close to town,

It was the coolest historical home ever! Well-appointed in every facet. Enjoyed the balcony and the comfortable Kracken's lair for our downtime. Very cozy bedroom. We visited Tilghman Island, St. Michaels, Preston, Kent Island Yacht Club for the Concours d'elegance and Harris Crab House. Highly recommend!

The property is tiny but lovely. Perfect for two people, maybe 3 in a pinch. The interior of the home is really well done, and the setting, on the edge of a river, is beautiful.

It's a beautiful property and I'm so happy that I booked and stayed at this property -- it was just as attractive as the photos depicted. However, I'm glad that the hosts warned about the accessibility issue which was an issue. The stairs are extremely tight and even with very sturdy hand grips and treads -- very precarious. I'm in my late fifties and blind in one eye plus some balance issues and I had a hard time with the stairs. Entry to the house is on the middle floor and the full bath is on the upper level and a half bath is on the lower level -- so any time you needed to use the bathroom, you had to navigate the stairs. The other issue I had was communication with the host which wasn't great. I think the last messages exchanged were Friday before my Sunday check-in. I messaged that I would arrive between 3:00 - 3:30 but I didn't receive a code to open the door or instructions for how to pull into the driveway which is not obvious -- had to get out and walk it before I could figure out where to go. I didn't know how to get in and it happened that the next door neighbor had the code and let me in but if she hadn't been home, I would have simply been stuck locked out. I didn't have another way to contact the host -- communication had seemed okay up until that point but this was a real problem.

Never stayed at the property because we didn’t receive the access information until 8 hours after the posted check in time. Emails and phone calls by myself and VRBO went unanswered
