September Notice: The Manualoha oceanfront pool adjacent to our building will be closed September 14–25, 2026 for pool improvements and installation of a new perimeter fence. The main Poipu Kai resort pool and hot tub will remain open, as will the pool at the Poipu Beach Athletic Club.

Welcome to Honu He'e Nalu, The Surfing Turtle!

This is our family's personal vacation home, and we pour a lot of love into it. We were married on Shipwreck Beach and have been bringing our kids to Poipu for years. It holds a very special place in our hearts. We want you to feel that the moment you walk in.

Step into your own beachfront sanctuary in the heart of Poipu, Kauai. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame sweeping, unobstructed ocean and mountain views, your backdrop from the moment you wake up. Just a 2.5-minute walk from the front door, Brennecke's Beach awaits for boogie boarding, where you can watch the honu literally surfing in the waves alongside you. Poipu Beach, one of Kauai's best snorkeling spots, is just another 2 minutes down the sand.

At sunset, the views from Poipu Beach are absolutely spectacular, whether you're watching from the sand or from your own private lanai. As the sun goes down, the honu swim ashore to sleep for the night, and monk seals can frequently be spotted snoozing in the sun on the beach. It's one of those magical Kauai moments guests never forget.

Relax in our beautifully remodeled, light-filled boho-luxury interior with mini-split AC in all rooms to keep you perfectly cool. Two resort-style pools are steps away, including the exclusive Manualoha oceanfront pool, along with a hot tub, waterfall wading pool, and tennis and pickleball courts. The Poipu Beach Athletic Club, just a short drive away, offers a restaurant, bar, pool, and full fitness equipment.

We also love helping our guests make the most of their time on the island, from local restaurant picks to hidden gems we've discovered over years of family trips here.

We're an Airbnb Superhost and Guest Favorite. We take great care of our guests and our home. Summer dates are still available. We'd love to host you!

Sleeping Arrangements: The condo has two bedrooms, each with a king bed, comfortably sleeping up to 4 guests. If you have 4 guests and two of them would prefer not to share a bed, the living area sofa is available for sleeping and we do provide bedding for it, however please note it is not a pull-out sofa bed. If you would prefer an inflatable mattress as a third sleeping option instead, just let us know in advance and we'll have it ready. For a 5th guest, the sofa is a comfortable option with bedding provided, or we can set up an inflatable mattress, just reach out before your stay. A 6th guest will require an inflatable mattress, which we will have ready for your arrival, just let us know in advance.

Spring Break

My family and I loved our trip to Kauai! Our stay was amazing and there was plenty of room for the four of us. The location was great and walkable to the nicest beaches on the south shore. The property managers were awesome with recommendations and always responded promptly. We hope to visit again :)

Incomparable stay. Great hosts.

Jeff & Kimberly’s home was unlike any VRBO we’ve stayed in. The home was immaculate, location unbeatable, quiet neighborhood, and easy communication with the 2 of them. It was ann easy stay with our 2 young kids. The extra amenities provided in the home made the stay extra comfortable and easy. This was one of our favorite homes we’ve ever stayed in!

Ocean view and walk to the beach!

Jeff and Kimberly were great hosts, very easy to communicate with, answered all of my questions promptly. The condo was great, with an ocean view and plenty of space for our family of four. We walked to the beach. We played tennis on the property. We swam at the pool. We ate dinner on the balcony looking at the ocean. We slept to the sound of waves breaking. Great vacation, great location. Easy walk or drive to the Starbucks was a plus! Highly recommend!

Amazing Poipu Location!

Jeff & Kimberly were wonderful and hospitable hosts! We really appreciated their excellent communication leading up to our trip and during our stay. They also provided a full list of recommendations that were very helpful. The condo is awesome! It has an awesome main living room, with full length windows and a patio to enjoy the stunning beach views! It is in an extremely convenient location, immediately adjacent to the pool and in walking distance to Brennecke's Beach and Poipu Beach. Thank you, Jeff & Kimberly! We hope to return soon!

Loved this property!!! The location can't be beat and the views are spectacular. We spent the majority of our time on the upstairs lanai. The layout was perfect for two couples. Jeff & Kimberly were amazing hosts - very proactive and responsive to any questions we had before and during our trip. As there is only one true master bedroom, we did a mid-week switch and they recommended a mid-week cleaning which we took advantage of and very much appreciated! The cleaning lady was great and even left us a giant avocado from her garden to enjoy - which was amazing!!!! We're already trying to figure out when we can come back!!!

great location, great hosts

We stayed here during Winter Break in Feb 2023. The location was great. Weather was rainy while we were there and this location allowed us to make the best of the weather. Even when staying inside, the view was fantastic. When the weather cleared, it was a quick walk down to the beach. We could see the closest pool from the condo, so we could also see when chairs/tables were available, and we could easily pop down. The condo had everything we needed (including coffee grinder and necessities). Plenty of towels for beach, showers, cleaning off at the door, etc. Chairs and umbrellas too. 2.5 bathrooms helps make it very comfortable for everyone. There is also a business to rent snorkel gear right on the walk to the beach (and great snorkeling right there). Sea turtles were resting on the beach throughout our entire visit (more overnight, but also a few during the day). A few seals as well. Only issues we had were minor and were from the complex, not the owners. (only one working BBQ that was being used, we ended up using the oven instead). Close pool was unexpectedly locked for a day, but another pool was available. The owners are very responsive and answered questions right away. We would happily return here on a future visit to Poipu.

One of the best spots in Poipu

Manualoha 106 has to be one of the nicest places in to stay in Poipu Kai area. The unit probably has the very best view in the area. You are up high with direct view of Brennecke's beach with nicely landscaped common land in the foreground. The unit was recently remodeled with tasteful clean decor, brand new kitchen and new furniture. We cooked/grilled on three of our nights and were thrilled to have an extensive array of appliances, cookware, spices and staples already supplied. There is a clean brand-new extra large grill right outside the unit. We hosted some a few CEO clients and they were jealous of how nice are unit was. Coffee was supplied as was a top notch grinder and brew system. (Good coffee is critical to a good vacation.) You are right next to a quiet and nicely kept pool. There is tennis and pickleball adjacent to that. It's a short walk to the Hyatt, to the beach, to Puka Dog and Brennecke's Grill. You can park right in front of the unit. the unit comes with chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards. Jeff and Kimberly are wonderful hosts. Communication was easy, responsive and frequent. They provided many nice unexpected touches to the visit. I would highly recommend--you don't need to look any further.

Honest review of a great location

This unit has a perfect location. Unobstructed view, steps to the ocean, walking distance to restaurants. It needs some updating. When we stayed in February 2023 it was not very clean. Reviews all gave it 5 stars for cleanliness. Paul's Place in Princeville where we stayed prior to Turtle was a 5 star. I am not sure how this unit got the same credentials First impression: outdoor stairs were covered with bird poop and dead bugs. The master bedroom has a view. The other looks on the parking lot. Beds are very comfortable The decor is dated. Tub is stained, shower door in master coated with soap film, toothpaste spatters on the cabinets. The stairs to the main floor are carpeted. At the foot of the stairs along the molding were piles of dead insects. (Not roaches). The banister was sticky. There was a plastic highchair in the living area. There is a sun screen for the ocean facing window. It was open when we arrived and the room was very hot. The A/C is not effective under these circumstances. Close the sun shade in the AM before leaving to keep it cool. The kitchen is well appointed and everything works well. We found dirty knives in the knife holder, fridge door was grubby. The upstairs windows had lots of finger and nose prints present. We contacted the owners who were very responsive. A woman came and cleaned after 2 days. We were refunded our cleaning fee and got a restaurant gift certificate. We would prefer honest reviews and a clean space.

A perfect beach getaway

The Surfing Turtle is a beautiful home and truly made our beach vacation exceptional! We especially appreciated having A/C at night — while it does cool off naturally, the added comfort was a nice touch. The house was thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed for a full day at the beach — chairs, umbrellas, toys, and more. It made heading out so easy and enjoyable! The location is perfect — just a short, easy walk to great restaurants and shopping. Jeff and Kimberly were incredibly kind and responsive throughout our stay, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this gem of a spot — we’d love to return!

Great family stay

Our teenagers love body boarding at Brennecke's, and we couldn't have asked for a better spot. We all loved the condo layout, the beautiful view, the close proximity to the pool and beach, 2.5 bathrooms, remodeled kitchen, super helpful owners and nice touches such as plenty of coffee, creamers, condiments and spices :) When our kids were little, we would have preferred the 1st floor , but now that they are grown, the layout of Manualoha #106 was perfect. We will definitely be back!

My wife Kimberly and I fell in love with Kauai and the Poipu area years ago. We were actually married on Shipwreck Beach, and over the years Poipu has become our family's favorite place in the world. Honu He'e Nalu - The Surfing Turtle is our personal vacation home, and we take great pride in sharing it with guests. We know Poipu and Kauai well, and we genuinely love helping our guests discover the best the island has to offer, from the perfect snorkel spots to our favorite local restaurants. We have always dreamed of having a vacation home in Poipu where we have been traveling to with our kids for years. We purchased at Manualoha to have a place for our family to continue to make memories in for many years. We purchased our home specifically because it is beachfront to Brennecke's Beach where our kids love to go boogie boarding, it has the most amazing ocean/mountain/sunset views, it is walking distance to so many wonderful places (one of our favorites are the hikes along the ocean cliffs on the other side of the Grand Hyatt), and has wonderful amenities such as the oceanfront pool next to it and the tennis center. We want to share our home and the Poipu experience with guests and hope they fall in love with Kauai and Poipu as we have.
