Relax and unwind at the Dancing Bear. Spend your time in the water with our canoe, kayaks and paddle boards, or enjoying the outdoors by the fire or out on the outdoor patio. Inside, you'll find a fully stocked kitchen, a living room and cozy bedrooms with smart TVs for your use.

Wonderful place for a relaxing time

Cory is a great host! The house had everything we needed and the yard was like a fairy garden! We loved the dock and spent lots of time fishing and sitting by the fire.

Great stay with everything we needed!

We stayed here with our 3 and 5 year olds and had a blast. Corey was a great host - easy, prompt instructions for getting in and getting around with recommendations for what to do in the area. Our kids loved playing on the big porches, in the water, on the dock, and roasting marshmallows at the awesome fire pit. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect lake front house

We enjoyed our stay, it was the perfect size for my husband and I and 2 teen daughters. Easy lake access, and great fire pit and hot tub! All in all a perfect spot to visit the lake.

Perfect getaway

Let’s just start by saying Corey the host Was spot on in a very timely manner to get back with you if you have an issue And to answer any and all questions. The property, the location the beautiful Lake view all perfect. Take nothing when you go except for yourself and your clothes. Everything you need is just a few miles from town plus Cory has everything in the house you could ever think of or need.. I would highly recommend this location and this host and this property to anyone married ,single or with a family. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back in the spring.

Mini Vacation

We spent 4 nights at this wonderful home. Enjoyed waking up with views of the lake each morning and the wonderful views. There were plenty of places to eat nearby. I do recommend Brothers Steak House. The host was super easy to work with. The house was very clean just as advertised. We will definitely stay again.

Great mountain getaway on the lake!

Wow, wow, wow, what a great place!! The views from the house/porch are wonderful. Then you walk out on the dock and it’s an even better view! Perfect fall foliage views. We enjoyed using the kayaks to cruise around on the lake. Our teenage son even fished from the kayaks a little bit while my dad fished from the dock. This cabin is very peaceful, very clean and easy to get too from the main roads! The cabin owner, Corey, communicates very well with you about any questions you may have about the house and area!! We enjoyed our fall trip to this beautiful lake house in the mountains!! We all want to come back in the summer to enjoy it all over again. Thanks again Corey for sharing your house!!

Perfect Lake Chatuge Getaway!

If you’re looking for a beautiful lakefront spot, with stunning views, privacy, and close proximity town, this home is the one! The house was cozy, immaculate, and provided everything we needed for a lovely girls’ trip. Great host too. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing Property and Location

Great location with mountain views and awesome house. Fishing off of the dock was very good and the downtown had plenty or restaurants. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing also. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect getaway!

We had the best time here and Corey was an amazing host! Pictures do not do this place justice at all. The small details they thought of to make our stay better went above and beyond any other rental I’ve booked. If you are looking for a relaxing stay with beautiful views and all of the comforts of home book it now! You’ve found the best one on the lake!

Paradise

The beautiful grounds overlooking the lake & mountains was idyllic The screened in front porch offset the cloudy & rainy days that we were there. The layout was thoroughly thought of for someone who couldn’t do many steps. It feels like home & the housekeeping crew did an amazing job, esp finding my husband’s wallet that was left behind. Corey was very helpful & communicative throughout. We will be back!

Wonderful family fun on the lake

We come up to the mountains every summer and love Lake Chatuge!! We found this wonderful cabin with all the bells and whistles to enjoy the lake life! We used the paddle boards, kayaks and floats everyday on the lake. We especially loved the later afternoon into evening time on the lake then jumped in the hot tub to relax while the fire heated up for s’mores and family laughs! There were life jackets for all sizes available and pumps for the floats. I did bring my electric one so it made it easier. No need to bring your own floats, all different kinds available for use! The house was fully stocked with paper goods as well and extra beach towels incase you didn’t bring them. TV’s in all the rooms . The area where the house is on the lake is not busy with boating traffic which is very nice ,10 minutes to Ingles which is great. Corey was quick to answer if we had a question and very attentive! If you’re looking for a property to fully enjoy the outdoors and lake this is the place for you!

Our vacation

Truly the best time. We loved everyday. Our grand children are already planning for next summer. They were swimming, kayaking , paddle boarding from sun up to sun down. This home is really special and so welcoming and was a perfect fit for us. Now, about our host Corey, he is the best! exactly what we were looking for

Arrived, took out shoes off, walked to the water, sat on the deck, sun-bathed, took the kayaks and paddle boards out, read in the patio and waterside ... used the hi tub, and grill, and fireplace and had a great time relaxing. Very responsive and accommodations host. Lover every part of it.

Beautiful lake view

If you are looking for a beautiful sunrise view over the lake, this is for you. It includes a lot of water toys like 2 kayaks and 2SUP. The hammock on the balcony is perfect for afternoon relaxing or if you prefer there is one in the yard. Plenty of outside seating as well as a fire pit. It is located close to hiking and mtn bike trails as well. We had a great trip with our pup.

Best girls trip!

We had a blast this Feb for girls trip! What a perfect cabin! Great kitchen to cook & had wonderful dinner at the nearby resort. We enjoyed the late evenings with a beautiful bonfire, and enjoyed the hot tub!

Wonderful

Hands down the best we have ever stayed at (and we’ve stayed at a lot). Everything from the inside of the house to the outside property exceeded our expectations! The town was laid back and super friendly! You can tell everyone who is a part of this rental (cleaners/ manager/ etc) take a lot of pride in ensuring their guests have the best experience- without going over the top cheesy about it! It truly felt like “home” for my family and I. Needless to say, we didn’t want to leave and will forever cherish our time spent here!

We are both retired

We loved our stay and will be back as soon as possible. Corey your the best. We would like to try in the summer and bring our grandchildren. This was a new experience for our new pup Silas he finally managed the stairs on our last day. We also saw a family of sweet deer playing along the water front. Perfect Getaway

Fantastic cabin with stunning sunrise views. Loved being on the water and the screened porch is the best! Comfy bed in the master. Property feels private and is furnished with anything you need. Corey us an excellent communicator. Love Dancing Bear!

Lovely Stay at Lake Chatuge

Our family of four & dog enjoyed our stay at Dancing Bear. The property is in a great location being right on the lake & a short drive to town. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch that has a lake view. We took full advantage of the dock, kayaks and SUPs. We rented a boat one day and explored the beautiful lake. This cottage is a great mountain lake escape!

On Golden Pond vibes

This was a great get away for my family. The Dancing Bear has the feel of a cottage hidden by a lake even with homes on either side. Unlike a lot of the places around it, Dancing Bear is set back in a wooded lot that gives it that 'hidden cottage' feel, but allows enough light in to not be gloomy. We had someone on the back porch constantly, when we weren't on the floating dock, or in the yard, or the hot tub. We had our pup with us and the road this is off of is a perfect one mile walk loop (that is relatively flat for being in the mountains) to walk him on. The two kayaks there are nicer and more comfortable than ours, so we left ours on the trailer and fished and explored off of them. We had a couple of fires and a lot of s'mores at the firepit which is right off of the water and so nice at night. Being a camping family, we were a little surprised that we didn't see the glow of more fires along the edge of the lake at night. Correspondence with Corey (the owner) was excellent! We had a minor issue, and he had his guy come take care of it quickly! Town is 10 minutes away either way you go on the road, so when we forgot something, Ingles was a quick and easy trip. That being said, most everything we needed was already there. I love staying at places where instead of feeling like a hotel with extra room, it feels like you are home-sitting for a friend. This is what our experience at The Dancing Bear felt like. Highly recommended! If we can swing it, we'll be back!
