Chicago City Stay
We loved this beautiful apartment. It was clean, well equipped, and had the most amazing view. The location was central and walkable to many coffee shops and bars. It was secure and for additional cost offered a nice parking spot that was easy to access. The challenge was putting the security deposit down on line ( which is a double deposit since a security deposit was also charged on the VRBO site) It kept kicking me back to the original screen and sending a new security code to resubmit. I messaged the manager, but after a few days of no response I contacted VRBO directly who said my card was charged three times, but would be credited once we checked out as long as there were no damages. Vrbo assured me we were good to go. I still got no check in directions directly from the manager so was feeling skeptical. Once we arrived to the building they didn’t have record of my stay because it showed I hadn’t completed the deposit part of the registration. It requires some phone calls and 20 ish minutes to clear that up. From that point on I began to get communication for check in and out etc from the property in a timely manner. Not sure what the on line glitch was due to, but having used VRBO around the world and having our own property listed on VRBO I’ve not experienced such a complicated and unsure check in procedure. Also the Wi-Fi info, trash info etc we’re not provided on line or in the apartment. We had to message the manager each time. A great stay, a great apartment and building, but clearer communication would have been appreciated and made things easier and smoother.
