My family had a wonderful three week stay- We have been coming to the island for over thirty years- and staying at the Eel point/Dionis area was such a treat. The location was easily accessible to not only the nearby beach, but also Town, Madaket, Cisco, and mid-island (grocery store/airport etc) We were close to it all.
The house itself was very comfortable with a rustic earthy feeling- it sits right in the Nantucket land bank preserve, which allowed for unobstructed views of the ocean and moors. You could climb atop to the widows walk for the 360 degree view, which was spectacular. You do get a fair share of wildlife- deers, bunnies, insects, spiders, crickets, birds, an occasional field mouse- which coming from the city enhanced the stay even more. It was perfectly situated for sunsets in the evening on the deck.
The inside of the house had a rustic french country feel with white stucco walls, dark wood beams, and oil paintings in every room- which was lovely, warm, and welcoming. The beds were comfortable, and there was a good amount of natural light in the day.
If I could make any suggestions it would be to update the kitchenware- making sure there were complete sets of forks, glassware, and perhaps providing a lobster pot. But the house had most everything we needed. Great laundry room, bikes for the beach, a nice beach umbrella.
We would stay here again, without question--and the memories of this family trip to ACK will go down as a very special one, thanks to this house.
