Welcome to Van Whalen! This quintessential antique Nantucket home with modern updates is the perfect jumping off point to explore all that the Island has to offer. One block from Main Street, and a ten minute walk from the ferry, our home convenient to everything in Town and an easy drive to other Island features. This home built circa 1790 is well appointed with historic details, art by local artists, and modern touches to enjoy the best of the old and new on Nantucket. Perfect for entertaining, the home boasts an open kitchen/seating/dining area, with a well-appointed kitchen as well as an adorable manicured garden with dining table. The master bedroom has its own upstairs porch to enjoy morning coffee and evening drinks. Perfect for up to eight people, with three bedrooms plus a pullout queen couch in its own separate room, two full bathrooms and one half bath.

Off street parking for one car. Outdoor shower and charcoal grill for summer dinners outside!

Great Family Getaway

We rented this house for a week for the whole family - my wife and four kids. The house was clean and has lots of charm. It's about a 10-minute walk to the grocery store and to all of the shopping and other activities in town. We made this walk daily and it was no big deal. Although we ate out a lot, we did cook in a couple of nights, including using the outdoor grill. Everything was really easy. We love the house and would stay again!

Charming house

Centrally located and great rental!

Amelia's house is the perfect property for a Nantucket stay. Close to downtown, plenty of space, and a gorgeous patio area, the house has everything you could ask for.

Girls Trip to Nantucket

The property was super clean and comfortable! The stairs could be a challenge (due to the age of the house). The bathrooms were great for 3 of us but would have been uncomfortable for a larger group. There are basically no bathrooms downstairs as the toilet room on the first floor is smaller than an airplane restroom. I would stay at this house again with the number of people we had on our trip. The property manager was great! I had planned on using the washer and dryer but it was not in working order while we were there.

Loved our stay

Loved this sweet, pretty and classic cottage on a beautiful street. It is an easy walk to town (we had 3 kids) but the street itself is quiet. There was plenty of space for our family of 5. We didn’t cook during our stay but the kitchen had everything you could need as well.

A really nice place in great location

Beautiful house and perfectly equipped, although the classic old stairs might intimidate some. An actual parking space and nice yard. Close to heart of town but quiet street.

16 Pleasant was a beautiful home and a great location to walk to town, many restaurants and several different beaches easily. It was very easy to reach Amelia with questions and we appreciated being able to leave our luggage when arriving on island before check in. Perfect family house for our vacation.
