Great Tahoe cabin, large family areas, well-appointed kitchen, nicely decorated and very clean. I would rank it a 5 except the fridge stopped working and we had to manage with coolers and a small downstairs fridge. These things happen. The hot-tub was a bonus and very nice.

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We're so glad you enjoyed the cabin's spacious gathering areas, well-appointed kitchen, décor, cleanliness, and the hot tub. We sincerely apologize for the refrigerator issue during your stay. While unexpected appliance failures can happen, we understand the inconvenience of having to rely on coolers and the downstairs refrigerator, and we're sorry it impacted your experience. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we worked through the issue. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a seamless five-star stay next time!

The Rustic Retreat was very clean and in good condition. It was the perfect size for 2 families of four. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and the abundant towels and linens. There were even sleds in the garage for the kids to play with. We liked this home a lot and would book it again without hesitation.

Great house

We had a great time here. We had some minor issues (wifi was down and the dishwasher wasn’t working) but we understand that these issues couldn’t be fixed immediately because this was during a crazy snow storm.

Magical stay in Truckee

This house was perfect for two families with four kids ages 2-7. We particularly loved the two car garage (no snow piling up on our cars), almost completely flat driveway, hot tub, a fireplace that turned on with a switch, a massive kitchen, large reclining couch, and easy access to Tahoe Donner ski resort. The driveway was plowed every morning so we didn’t have to worry about getting snowed in, even though there was a big storm while we were there. Will definitely stay here again!

The house is gorgeous and well stocked. My big complaint is there are only enough passes to pool for six while it sleeps ten. It made it stressful, who could go and who couldn’t. Especially since we were celebrating both of my adult children’s birthdays.

Thank you for your 5-star rating, Susan! We’re glad you found the house gorgeous and well stocked. We appreciate your feedback about the pool passes and understand how that could have been stressful during your celebration. The HOA has just recently restricted guest access to the amenities with a maximum of six at ant time. We hope to welcome you back for another stay soon!

Awesome stay!

Our stay at Ski View Chalet at Tahoe Donner was exceptional! The house was spotless, extremely well stocked and very comfortable. We had a smaller group, so everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom, and the downstairs family room was a hit with the 2 kids. The location, backing up to the Tahoe Donner golf course, was fantastic for winter snow play. The management company was very good, great communication and very easy to work with. When we return to Truckee we will most definitely plan to stay at the Ski View Chalet!

Home was perfect for our annual family vacation ;)

Ski View Chalet was perfect for our 3-generation family getaway! Each family had their own private space (bedroom and bathrooms), and the kitchen/living area was perfect for gathering and meal planning. The kitchen was well stocked, and the house was clean and well located on the 3rd green of the golf course - we loved to practice putting every night after dinner. Someone used the hot tub almost every night; especially the 9 year old. We plan to go again sometime -Thank you!

A serene getaway!

I had such a lovely, relaxing stay at this beautiful getaway in Truckee. The home is surrounded by stunning natural beauty—with peaceful views of tall trees and the nearby golf course right outside the windows. It feels tucked away and serene, yet it's just a short drive to downtown Truckee, where shops and restaurants are easily accessible. The home itself has such a comforting, cozy vibe—it truly felt like a home away from home. Every space was thoughtfully set up for rest and relaxation, making it easy to unwind. Whether you're sipping coffee on the deck, watching the breeze move through the trees, or exploring the town, it's the perfect spot to recharge. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat that still keeps you close to everything! Anytime is the best time!

1st reservation cancelled within 1 week of date - double booking by VRBO luckily found another place

The property was fabulous, spacious and comfortable. Prop mgr (Tahoe Estates) great to work with. Accommodating and easy to work with. Disappointed with VRBO for error with 1st booking. Vacations had already been scheduled could have been disastrous.

Family getaway

This home was absolutely perfect for my family. The teens LOVED having their own space in the bonus room to watch TV and play games. The home is very well maintained, and the kitchen well stocked with high quality cookware and utensils. The beds were very comfortable. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. Great property!

This house is perfect for multiple families. There is enough room for everyone! Multiple decks are nice for enjoying early mornings or evenings. The hot tub was so relaxing! The only issue we ran into is that there are no beach towels at the house. That should have been told to us prior to arrival so that we could have brought some. We will look forward to staying at this property again.
