We are located in the middle of local wineries and convenient to both Historical Lampasas and San Saba. With its dark sky designation, it’s a stargazer’s paradise – a magical way to end your evenings. We can provide private chef's services onsite (dinner for six, $300), and the nearby Artemis Lodge (now open) is available for group events, weddings, retreats and corporate escapes.

Perfect Vacation

This place is an absolute jewel! The owners are incredibly nice, friendly & welcoming. The cottage is clean & beautiful with everything you need. We were happy making our “stay” our destination. Lush lawn, refreshing pool & inviting hot tub all to yourself with a beautiful view and occasional exotic deer spotting. The stock pond to fish was an added bonus. And the private tour of the ranch, which included visits with the rhino and giraffes, sealed the deal - this was a perfect vacation!

Great Stay!

Our extended family of 6 ranging from 10 to 75 stayed at the Cottage and all had a wonderful time. Ty is a great host and he and his wife gave us a tour of the property which is absolutely amazing! We were able to feed the giraffes and TANK! My daughter said feeding princess the giraffe was the best experience she had during our week long adventure in Texas! Only wish we would have stayed longer! Thanks Ty for a wonderful time.

Best weekend getaway

From check in to check out, everything was amazing. The pool was a hit of course. The safari tour in the morning was stellar with Koutney. Feeding the giraffes and seeing tank the rhino was an experience up close n out of this world. My wife had the best birthday ever. The stunning views sunrise and sunset leave you in awe. Definitely will be coming back. Thank you for everything.

Amazing Adventure!

We can’t thank Ty and Chef Kourt enough for all they did to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Meeting Tank and the giraffes was such a memorable experience! Touring and learning about the ranch from Ty was so awesome! We requested a menu from Chef Kourt for our Kentucky Derby themed evening and it did not disappoint. From mint juleps, pulled pork sandwiches, buttermilk and hatch chile grits, to a beautiful sunset to cap off the evening, we were wowed every step of the way! This is a stay we will never forget!

An unforgettable experience

What an absolutely incredible experience! We stayed for 3 days at the Artemis Ranch at the Vista Cottage. When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner, Ty, himself! He went out of his way to give us such an unforgettable experience in every way possible.During our stay, we got a tour of the ranch, seeing all kinds of beautiful wildlife and scenery - the waterfalls were awe inspiring - while learning so much about the animals, the ranch, and even Ty himself! After the tour, we got to stop by and feed Tank the rhino and some giraffes.Words (and even pictures) cannot express how amazing of a time we had here. If you stay here, please do yourself a favor and book 3 nights to truly get the full experience. It's beyond worth it!

Breathtaking

An incredible property for our family vacation

Artemis Ranch and Retreat is an absolutely incredible property. It’s truly like being on safari without going to Africa. Our hosts, Ty and Leslie, were so helpful and accommodating throughout our week visiting their property. Our grandchildren were in awe of the animals, from Tank- the rhino to the sweet giraffes, including a new baby, to the zebras and wildebeests, and so many more. The Vista Cottage and the lodge are beautiful properties. Chef Kourtney prepared a delicious picnic lunch for us on the patio at the lodge one day- the views were phenomenal. She also prepared a steak dinner for us one evening and served it at the cottage- again, absolutely delicious. Our last morning, the guys enjoyed shooting sporting clays. There are two wineries nearby with amazing views and fantastic wines. This was such a memorable time. Highly recommend!!

Amazing Ranch and Cottage in TX Hill Country near Lampasas

Our recent stay in The Vista Cottage on the beautiful Artemis Ranch was incredible! Not only was the cottage - with its pool, hot tub, grille and fire pit outside - perfect for our stay, but the cherry on top was a safari tour led by the ranch owner, Ty, of his amazing ranch filled with exotic animals. We were even able to feed the giraffes and the rhinoceros! We couldn't have felt more welcomed!A huge thank you to the Owners, Ty and Leslie, and to Kaili, the Property Manager.

PEACEFUL

QUIET, WITH NATURE SOUNDS AND THE BUBBLING OF OUR POOL, STARGAZING FROM OUR HOT TUB. AMAZING SCENERY FROM OUR HILLTOP COTTAGE. Wonderful safari cabin!!!!

Me and my family recently stayed in the cottage for three nights and had the best time. The cottage was very modern and clean. We loved the private pool and hot tub. The property is just beautiful and full of free roaming safari animals! The kids (and adults!) loved seeing the animals roaming around. We hiked around and drove around to see them. Ty, the owner, was the nicest man and host and checked in on us. He and another employee took us on a tour to see the animals. We got to feed the rhino and the giraffes and it was all included in out stay. I can't say enough good things about this place and our stay! You definitely should stay here. Zero issues. We will definitely be coming back.

Above and beyond!

This is a wonderful place. The house seems new, and it’s beautiful inside. The exotic animals were all so healthy, and easy to see roaming around. Feeding the 4 giraffes was a lot of fun, and the Grevy zebras were especially unusual for us . If I could, I’d give this place and its very friendly owner 10 stars!

A perfect family weekend

We spent 3 lovely days over Labor Day weekend at the Artemis Ranch cabin. The cabin is well equipped and our grandson enjoyed the beautiful pool. Ty is a very gracious host. Sneak away to the wild

We were looking for a peaceful escape and this fit the bill. Everything was as described. It’s a bit of a hike through the property to get to the cabin but that’s definitely part of the charm. Saw several animals, enjoyed the pool, and found everything to be relaxing and comfortable. Definitely recommend and will stay again.

An Amazing Experience!

Wow, what a place!!!

We spent a few days visiting friends in Lampasas and chose Artemis Ranch as our home away from home. This is the most amazing place with comfortable lodging and amazing views!! From the sunsets, to the hot tub and pool, from walks around this beautiful ranch to the many cool exotics we encountered, I simply can’t say enough good things about this property!! An amazing getaway not too far out of town!

We absolutely loved our stay here! It was very rural and quiet with all the amenities of home and more! The sunsets were spectacular while relaxing in the hillside pool. You will also see exotic wildlife throughout the property. They kids loved going down to the stocked pond and catching fish off of the dock. I don’t have one bad thing to say about this place and we will definitely be back. Thanks Ty for opening up your ranch and allowing others to enjoy it!

Most Unique Stay

I was looking for a rental that was unique and our cabin stay at Artemis Ranch was our best stay in Texas! From the moment you drive in, you’re transported to an African safari. The ranch is massive. We took a 2 hour tour and got to see many exotic animals roaming around free. My boys were in awe of the zebras, the rino and the giraffes, who they got to feed. The cabin was equipped with everything you need including a pool, hot tub and fire pit for snores. My personal favorite was the many little personal touches to make your stay feel special like snacks for the kids and breakfast items. We received VIP hospitality from Ty and Bill which elevated our stay. My sons want to go back for summer break since we didn’t have time to fish. If you’re looking for a unique experience full of excitement, stay here. You’ll have a hard time deciding which activity to do because there is so much and they are all so much fun!

Amazing Eco Ranch experience.

Immaculate property. Massive ranch. Too many exotic game to count! Used pit and free mesquite for amazing grilled steaks at the end of the day. Jacuzzi was perfectly clean and relaxing. The pool has a sunbathing end. Nicely lit. Balcony overlooks pool and hill country. The owner Ty came round multiple times to make sure we were enjoying our stay and one day took us on a 2.5 hour atv tour. Yes the ranch is that big.

Amazing Property

Let me start this by saying, I was heading to Lampassas for a family wedding and was looking for somehting a bit more than what the local hotels had to offer. Safe to say, objective completed. I cannot say enough about Ty, Leslie and their team/property. I hate to write a review this well because I know all of the ATX crew will eventually see this and make it impossible for me visit again. If you're looking for the ability to drive 5min to a Starbucks, do not come here. If you are looking for a 2mi drive on a dirt road from the main road to an amazing cabin in the middle of an 3700ac ranch/game-preserve with the best night sky you have seen with pool and hot tub, this is your place. The owners, Ty & Leslie, and their entire team were nothing less than the most hospitable hosts one could ask for. Upon arrivial, driving back to the cabin, I saw at least 5 different African game species, but that was just the tip of the iceberg. Later on in my stay, Ty & Leslie were kind enough to take our small family group on a tour of the property to see nearly 30 species of game and 2.5mi of the Colorado River. My wife and I are both from West Texas. We lived out of State for about 25 years but returned to our Texas roots. We love hosting guests and sharing our beautiful ranch. Trying to create a special place is what excites us. We have just opened our world-class lodge featuring 11 guest rooms, a beautiful library, great room, chef's kitchen, wine cellar and spectacular patio and views - unrivaled in the surrounding area. We hope that our guests can appreciate and enjoy Artemis Ranch and the endangered animals that live here.

The ranch was the perfect place to create a world class resort. It was in major need of care and investment - putting things back to their natural state. We have cleared over a million invasive junipers (cedar) and have reseeded hundreds of acres with natural grass/plant seeds. We currently have 27 species of exotic animals that roam the ranch. The ranch has over 100 caves (sorry, for safety only professionals can go in most of them), 2.5 miles of riverfront, a major wetwater creek, numerous ponds, ridges, gullies, rills and gorges. You'll experience thousands of beautiful live, red or post oaks.

There are so many unique things about the ranch. It is one of the darkest places in Texas with night skies so dark and beautiful that you feel like you can touch the stars. And if you can't then it is probably due to the full moon that you can almost pluck from the sky. The sunsets are gorgeous and make for perfect outdoor grilling over a mesquite fire, and yes we will provide you with an ample set of mesquite. Great steaks are available at the local butcher shop. Unlike the concrete jungle of the city, the evenings and mornings are very pleasant even on the hottest day. We have 2.5 miles of riverfront, 27 species of exotic animals, hiking, biking, fishing and exploring. If you are looking for a beautiful, serene setting where you can enjoy nature and spend time with close friends and family, then this is the place. And to top it off you have your own private pool and hot tub complete with lights and bluetooth music connected through your phone. The ranch borders Colorado Bend park on the South and West, and near 2 great wineries. You can visit the Bend for live music, take a short trip to San Saba or just enjoy the ranch.
