Papa's Place

Welcome to Papa's Place!

Our comfortable 2 bedroom, 1 bath, lakefront house with a beautiful sunroom. The entire house is yours to feel at home in. It is just steps down to the private dock and grassy lawn. The wrap around patio has a gas BBQ grill and plenty of seating. The balcony overlooks the lake where you can read a book, throw your lines out, or watch the Hydroflites ski show just half block away- which is also where the public boat launch is.

Across the road is a public park with a large playground, and a couple blocks north is the public swim beach. The downtown area has antique stores, restaurants, bars, pubs and more, as well as a grocery store to get yourself stocked for your stay.

There are plenty of fun places to boat to for lunch or a drink. Some of our favorite are Red's Grill and Bar (really good pizza), Pokegama Lakeside Cantina for upscale Mexican, or Gilligan's for a lively atmosphere. And they all have live music pretty often too! Our favorite is probably Phills Bar and Grill. A very casual place with a surprisingly amazing menu.

We do not take dogs for allergy reasons, but there are local boarding kennels for your furry family members. Including Cozy Critter Kennel.

We truly hope you enjoy Papa's Place in Chetek as much as we do.

This cabin is amazing. There were three of us here for an ice fishing weekend. The place had everything we needed. And when I say it is right on the water, I mean it is right on the water. We had a great time. And we caught some really nice fish.

This is such a beautiful place to go and spend time. This was our second year in a row at papa’s place. Had another great time! We went out fishing 5 days for a couple of hours each day and caught 15-20 crappies every time. Also a few bass and a couple of perch. Went golfing and played pickleball. Enjoyed our time. Thank you Karen and Collin!

Wanted to get away from the big city for a few days and this was the absolute perfect place. The Townsfolk are very friendly and the property is right on the water. The view could not be more perfect. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for some peace.

This was an excellent place to stay to work remotely and to visit with family who live in the area. Who wouldn’t enjoy a beautiful lake view from their “office” window. Very quiet neighborhood with everything needed for my stay very close at hand.

We are avid outdoorsmen with a big emphasis on bass fishing. We both have been fishing, camping, hiking, and exploring since childhood and have had a dream of owning a place on a lake for many years. The pieces finally fell into place and then we found this unique house. Having years of landlord experience behind us, we wanted to pivot into hosting. It has been really fun getting everything set up for our future guests, and look forward to sharing our lakefront retreat with you and yours.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

Papa's Place is unique in the way that it is tucked into shoreline with great views and space, but only minutes away from all the activity that Chetek offers. The house is 850 sq. ft., but feels open and roomy. The boat launch is in walking distance, so getting set up is easy. Downtown is a few minutes drive, and there are multiple restaurants to choose from. Chetek is charming! Come check us out.

この宿泊施設の特徴

The location is fantastic! Centrally located between downtown, the public boat launch, a swim beach, and a public park. Not to forget the lake is right outside our window! You are right in the mix of all that Chetek offers.
