The village of Valle Crucis, with its famous Original Mast General Store and riverfront community park, is a short 6-mile drive away. Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Sugar Mountain Public Golf Club are 6 miles away. Appalachian Ski Mountain is about 12 miles away, and Beech Mountain Ski Resort is 14 miles away. The Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zip Line Park is less than 5 miles away. Grandfather Mountain and its popular Profile hiking trails are also about 5 miles away. The Alpine Wilderness Run outdoor roller coaster is less than 6 miles away. Tweetsie Railroad amusement park is less than 13 miles away. The Watauga River is less than 1/2 mile away. Owls Nest is a thoughtfully decorated four bedroom cabin with spaces indoors and out to enjoy a mountain getaway. The main floor living room, framed by a wall of windows with skylight above, has a leather sectional sofa situated for conversing in front of the gas log fireplace or enjoying the big screen tv. High vaulted tongue and groove ceilings and warm wood floors, flow into to the dining area, with an accommodating kitchen to the side. The kitchen is equipped with a high end sterling oxygenated water system - watch the air bubbles dissipate before your eyes in seconds, leaving crystal clear refreshing water. There is a gas grill and outdoor dining on the spacious main level deck with stairs leading down to a hot tub on the lower patio and a fire pit with seating. Upstairs features a game room with pool table and air hockey table in the loft.

The main floor master bedroom includes a king bed, writing desk, and luxurious master bathroom with a soaking tub and huge separate shower. The lower level features a king bedroom, a full bedroom with a private ensuite bathroom and an adorable kids room with two twin bunk beds and a fold out full size sofa bed.

Owls Nest has a unique infrared air system that purifies the air in every room, enjoy a breath of fresh air indoors and out. Additional amenities include wifi, paid programing and streaming on the TV's and a washer and dryer. There is central heating and air conditioning for year round comfort. Winter travelers are recommended to be prepared with 4 wheel drive vehicles.
