Another great vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were moved to Beach Castle as our original booking at Outrigger became unavailable after scheduled. RVA was great, even though I was upset with what happened. Beach Castle was a nice condo building, it was clean and comfortable. The beach chairs and umbrellas were great along with the grill. We had a leak in the guest shower and it was fixed as soon as we reported it.

There was plenty of room for the 6 of us. We loved having turtles and a variety of exotic birds to watch from our screened in porch. The location of this condo made it so convenient to run back and grab anything we forgot when we were playing at the beach. Loved the split bedroom layout. It was a quiet and restful environment. Just what we needed.

Reviewer Comments: I can not give this a 5 star as both of the shower have mold around where there is caulking, the fan that was provided was extremely dirty, the sliding door was near impossible to open, the location was amazing the staff were as well. just needs a little extra deep cleaning. Like that there are chairs and umbrellas provided starting at 9 am.

It was right at the entrance to the beach. Very quite. Had a nice screened in porch and sliding glass door to the outside. There were 3 TVs, but one only got streaming shows. Everything in the unit was in great condition. We loved it and would return. As we arrived, we ran into the folks who had rented it the week before and they told us that they loved it.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed here before, in this unit as well as other units. Always a good experience, so didn't hesitate to book again. This time Unit 1 was in need of an update and a thorough cleaning. It's a great setting,with a beautiful view of the Gulf, so if it's cleaned and maintained, it would be really nice...just a little disappointed this trip. Property manager was friendly, but we didn't really want to spend our week having the unit worked on.

Great Location

This was my first time renting at Beach Castle. It was cleaned and well presented. My only criticism is that the place had an odor. The master bath had a strong odor as well. I did informed housekeeping when we checked out. Hopefully they’ll take care of before the next guests. You can’t beat the location and the quiet beach. I don’t think I’ll be returning because I think the price it’s to high.

Returning family guest, birthday trip.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit was not clean at all and had a dingy smell upon entering that didn’t go away. We had to purchase air freshener. Porch was so dirty (dead roaches as well) we couldn’t use it. Garbage disposal and many of the electrical outlets (master, kitchen, living room) did not work. Only one functioning lamp in the living room. Most of the kitchen items were dirty and/or need to replaced. You can’t beat the location and the kids enjoy the pool. We love this area and have stayed in other units here without a problem, but this unit, we will never rent again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have stayed in this unit a few times now and after this last visit, I will not be renting unit one. The pros: great proximity to the beach, very easy to walk to and from your room to the beach. The cons: as other reviewers have stated, this unit is dirty. It could use a very deep cleaning. I stayed here previously in September 2022 and I found live cockroaches. Same thing on this most recent trip- every single day we found either a dead cockroach, or a live cockroach. I think they were coming up through a hole in the base of the toilet where there should’ve been a screw (guest bathroom). We finally plugged the hole with toilet paper hoping for no more roaches. Also, in the guest bathroom, the shower and/or toilet smelled of sewer gas very badly. To the point that i could not sleep in the bedroom bc the smell kept me awake. For the amount of money spent (over $600 per night), these should not be problems to deal with.

The pans were in bad shape, the garbage can lid was broken, the laundry baskets were broken, and we had to do a lot of cleaning when we arrived. But my wife is a clean freak. An example was dirty placemats on the table. Sinks were not clean in the bathrooms or kitchen and one shower had mold in the corners. Other little annoying things, were the clock on the wall had a dead battery and mismatched wine glasses, plates, and coffee cups. We went and bought a cheese grater and wine opener and a few other utensils we just left there. A bigger issue for me was the pillowcases were too small for the pillows, so part of the pillow would stick out. A couple of hundred people probably have used the pillow, so that was unpleasant. For the price they charge per week, the place could use a little love. All that being said.... We are going again next year. We LOVE the location and life on Long Boat. The beach is very quiet and the location was peaceful. No large or loud parties anywhere close. Sean at the office was very helpful and friendly. We found a restaurant on the north end of the island. Mar Vista. It is a must-see awesome food and atmosphere. Salarnos Pizza was good too. Get the garlic knots. You will love the sunsets, they are beautiful and right out your door.

Unit could use some tlc but ultimately the beach access, walking distance to tennis, pickleball, restaurants, and sunsets outweigh the old grout, and tired linens and appliances. Chairs, beach towels, and umbrellas provided. Owners as well as management really seem to want your vacation to be great and that counts for a lot!

Hope the property management will upgrade the threadbare linens, beach equipment, safety features. They did come to correct cleaning issues at our request. The view and location of unit 1 are great but everything is broken, outdated, needs cleaning.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was very wonderful. The Condo and location were perfect! The pool and hot tub were an added bonus to the already amazing and picturesque Gulf side location. It was our first time and stay at Beach Castle. We would definitely come back in the future!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at this property for many years and at the Beach Castle for over 25 years or more. We love the place, but #1 needs an update: The curtains in the living area need to be replaced as the long blinds detach easily; a disposal would be nice, the living room couch has met its lifespan - you sink into the cushions; the ROKU remote needs to be replaced (had to use a paper clip to start it); replace the outside sliding screen on the sliding door -its old and needs replaced. Despite these concerns, we love the location and hope that the rates don't escalate too much in the future. We would love to return once again.
