Family friendly, comfortable, well equipped. 3 bedrooms, 1.king, 1 Queen, 2 twin beds plus bunk beds, plus a Bunkie/cabin, sleeps 3. great cottage on Three Mile Lake in Muskoka. Located between Bracebridge and Port Carling, Large 800 square foot gated deck. Owned. loved and enjoyed by the same family for 40+ years.

WEEKLY (7) DAY SAT TO SAT CHECK IN/OUT CONTACT OWNER, ROSEMARY TO DISCUSS IF ANY OTHER ARRANGEMENTS ARE NEEDED.
Our 1100 sq ft cottage is located on 3 Mile Lake (approximately 2 to 2.5 hours from Toronto) in the heart of Muskoka, close to the village of Windermere, and Towns of Port Carling, Bracebridge and Huntsville.

The cottage is in a private, well treed setting with a south/ east exposure, amazing view right down the lake in two directions from a large, 800 square ft. outside deck, which is gated on two sides so children and pets can be safely contained and you don't have to worry that they can wander off.

The comfortable interior of the cottage has had ongoing updates with a kitchen, carpet, and freshly decorated bathroom with a new tile floor.
The living room has had a complete makeover, it features updated furnished, main living room with a large 47'flat screen TV with a media player, loaded with content for all ages and tastes plus a beverage bar and bar fridge.

An attached room has another sitting area with access to the deck plus a large dining area for family meals or maybe a dinner for two? games corner, lots of cottage games.

The 144 sq ft A frame, cozy sleep cabin/bunkie is close to the cottage and is a great hit with the younger set. Their own place to hang out! or even for the young at heart. Three twin beds.

For the golfer there are several golf clubs close by. The two closest to the cottage are Windermere Golf club also Diamond in the Ruff over 30 golf courses in the Muskoka area. The closest Tennis courts are in Windermere.

Shopping, restaurants and attractions in Port Carling, Bracebridge and Huntsville. More detailed information will be provided about things to do and see if you decide to visit Heaven in Muskoka.

3 mile lake is a spring fed, calm lake, very safe and excellent for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and boating. 3 Mile Lake has a reputation in the area for it's great fishing.

Main cottage 3 bedrooms, bedroom 1 (king) bedroom 2 (queen) Bedroom 3, (2 twin beds and a bunk bed)
The sleep cabin has 3 twin. 2nd Sitting room has 2 futons for occasional, overnight visitors or a nap in the afternoon.

One bathroom in main cottage, three piece with tub. Outdoor, enclosed cedar shower/spa with hot and cold water. This is accessed by a stairway off the main deck. It is great having a shower while watching the ducks or boats go by at the same time.Where else can you do that?

Amenities
The Kitchen is completely renovated. Well equipped with Fridge, stove and built in over the stove microwave, and generously equipped with pots and pans, dishes, glasses and cooking utensils, coffee and tea pots .Lots of cupboards and pot drawers filled with utensils, bowls, wok, serving dishes etc.

A Beverage bar at the end of the living room next to the kitchen is equipped with Bar fridge, assorted glasses, and cupboards below to store beverage cases. A fresh water crock on counter.
Water available from a fresh water well. Water good to drink.

If you bring dogs they need to be contained on our cottage property, incuding the dock, to keep the neighbours from being bothered. Pick up the poo.

Perfect family cottage week

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Domik family's cottage. Everything we needed was there and Rosemary provided all info required for a smooth arrival and stay. The cottage is in a great location, with friendly neighbours and a beautiful dock and huge deck. Cooking inside or out is very easy with a full kitchen and gas bbq. We loved every minute with our teenagers and two dogs.

Great place!

This cottage is sitting on the shore of beautiful Three Mile Lake. Cottage has everything you need ! So comfy, has a sharm! We had great time there, kayaking and hiking ( open few great places for hiking by the owner's booklet) Definitely we will come back!!

Great place for sun or rain

Beautiful hikes with great viewpoints or forest atmospheres can be reached in < 30 min drive. We enjoyed the walks at Torrance Barrens, Huckleberry Point, and Hardy Lake Trail (don’t forget the bug spray!!!). The hazelwood trail in Port Carling was less interesting

Wonderful week

My family and I loved the cozy comfy cottage and all it offered. The kitchen supplies are plentiful and offer you everything you need. Rosemary is very helpful with any questions you might have but most information is already supplied on site. But the star of the show is definitely the outdoors. The view from the deck is gorgeous and the never ending dock is fantastic.we spent hours every day on it fishing and swimming. We hope to be back!

Great vacation spot!

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here despite the couple of rainy days we had. The large floating dock was awesome and had one of the nicest ladders into the water that we have seen. The large deck on the cottage was an added bonus too with lots of room for bbqing, eating, kids playing, and various sitting spaces for reading or sitting enjoying the view of the lake. The kitchen also was one of the better stocked ones we have seen for pots and pans, utensils, appliances, etc. The outside shower was a unique experience which brought a few laughs throughout our week. The cottage owner/hostess, Rosemary, was wonderful to correspond with and always so prompt in her replies and most helpful. Thank you to the Durnik’s for sharing this great vacation spot!

Up the hill down the hill

The cottage was comfortable enough though somewhat dated. The outdoor space was definitely shining star of the location. I was surprised and disappointed that there was no Wi-Fi. there were enough beds to sleep 11 and only one bathroom with no indoor shower. The only TV available was pre-recorded shows and movies on hard drive. The terrain around the cottage is a bit tough to navigate for small children and elderly people. I expected more for the price I paid.

Outstanding location

The cottage was comfortable, clean and had anything you could think of that you needed and didn't have. It was spacious with good air flow with ceiling fans and sliding doors and plenty of windows. Deck area is enclosed and spacious so dogs and children can move around safely. The dock has plenty of space and sunny and shady spots. Our family had the best week here - Rosemary was so helpful and kind when we had an inquiry. Her son even cleaned out a spot at the lake for our 2 year old granddaughter to get in and out of the water more easily. The BBQ is fantastic and the owners had multiple extra propane tanks if you ran out. Great tables for eating in or outside and the hosts even set up the pack and play and booster seat for our granddaughter prior to our arrival! You are close to Port Carling and Bracebridge if you need anything at all. We will go back for sure! We LOVED it here!

Great location - super view

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage which was well stocked and clean with plenty of outdoor space to relax in and various boats and oars. There are 4 adult life jackets provided as stated which I didn’t realise so we took turns going out on the lake as we were short one which worked out fine. The shower below deck is literally forest bathing and was lovely. There are ceiling and tabletop fans in all the rooms which did get a little hot but the shaded decking and jetty areas were very comfortable to sit in. As described, the 4th bedroom is a little bunkie separate to the house with 3 single beds in it which was okay but might not suit everyone. There is no internet access or Netflix which (after sending a few msgs home via the car) were not missed. We had fun with the board games provided and curled up with one of the many books also provided. Rosemary is a super helpful host who responded immediately. Thank you Rosemary and family for the use of your cottage.

Nice family lake house

All was good during our week's stay at this home on 3 mile lake. Quiet neighborhood, great lake views. We caught a couple of fish off of the pier, but better fishing can be accessed by boat. Owners were very nice and accommodating. Recommended.

Very comfortable stay with a well-equipped cottage!

This cottage provided a great place for my family to play, swim, boat, and relax! Who needs wifi when this cottage has all the movies you could ever want to watch! Board games too many to mention! You know we had a good time when we were all sad to leave. Muskoka…a piece of heaven.

Amazing week on Three Mile Lake

We such an amazing time at Rosemary's cottage on Three Mile Lake. The cottage was spacious, clean and well-equipped. We loved spending time on the huge deck, and loved that it was gated for safety. The dock was perfect for the kids to jump from into the lake. We also enjoyed a campfire and all of the various watercraft. Rosemary was very helpful when we had questions and always answered very quickly. We hope to return again someday!!

Calming Fun

I was totally impressed with how well the kitchen was equipped and organized. The deck and the view of looking down the lake was beautiful and the stars at night where spectacular. I liked the outdoor shower but others didn't like the bugs and spiders. Might consider cleaning that aspect up. Other than that I say would certainly like to rent again.

Summer Vacation on 3 Mile

My family had a great vacation at this property. The owner was very responsive and the cottage was clean. We enjoyed fires by the lake (firewood provided), canoe rides, sun rises, unlimited movies for rainy days, the owners recommendation to a local waterfall and swimming area. Thanks again for having us!

Amazing Muskoka !

We had the most wonderful week at Rosemary's Cottage. It couldn't have been better. Beautiful waterfront view and swimming. Amazing large balcony overlooking waterfront and comfortable cottage with well equipped kitchen and endless games and movies for the children.

Heavenly stay at Heaven in Muskoka

We just returned from Heaven in Muskoka and our stay was perfect. We were 4 adults and 6 children. There was more than enough space for everyone. No one felt they were stumbling on others. The cottage is quaint and well appointed. The kitchen had all the supplies we forgot to bring - spices, aluminum foil, dishes, Tupperware, etc. All the appliances were in great condition. Both living room spaces were great. We had a few rainy/game days. There were lots of games provided too! Although the kids chose not to sleep in the bunkie they enjoyed hanging out there as their “kids only” space. There were lots of fans in the cottage. We brought a few of our own (which came in handy as we had some extremely hot days). The outside of the property was picture perfect. The dock has visible wear but was perfect for use. Some floaties/flutter boards/pool noodles were available however we brought lots of our own as well. The area close to the dock is rocky! Bring acquasocks if you can! About 5 feet out from the dock is beautiful deep water. The water was so warm and so beautiful. The fire pit was perfect. Stumps and chairs around for seating! Port Carling, Bala and Bracebridge are very close by for groceries and (of course) ice cream! Communication with owner Rosemary was excellent! She answered all our questions and made sure everything was just perfect!

A wonderful family cottage

We just got home from staying at this cottage for a week. We were having family together to relax and enjoy each other's company. We couldn't have picked a better place! Rosemary was very helpful with any questions that we had. The cottage had everything one could want and the beds were excellent. When gathered at the waterfront or on the deck, we felt like there was a lot of room for all. This area is beautiful, but the view from the deck is top notch! I could not get enough of the view whether with my coffee at sunrise or in the evening with a drink. There was a full moon this week and the reflection in the water provided an excellent brightness to look out over the lake at night. We all enjoyed our stay and wished it was for a longer duration. We hope to stay here again.

Exactly what a cottage should be

If you are getting away for a week with a family there this is the perfect cottage for you to rent. All the decor and amenities that are available make for the perfect holiday time. From the dock area with boats and shallow swimming, the many games and movies, well stocked kitchen and comfortable sleeping arrangements. This cottage has everything you would need. We had a fantastic time!

Perfect cottage week!

We arrived to the cottage to find a clean, well maintained and spacious cottage for our multi generational family of 7. Even though this is an older cottage, there have been many updates that made our stay very comfortable: well equipped kitchen with modern cupboards and counter tops, newer fridge, stove and microwave, coffee maker and a nice a stone tile floor, large dining table in a dining/den area, new mattresses on the beds in 3 good sized bedrooms. The large outside deck was secure and gave the 3 kids lots of room to play safely with all the toys and kiddie cars provided by the owner while we grilled dinners on a large, new BBQ. We ate lunch and supper on the deck on a large deck table and there were several deck chairs along the deck to sit in while the cooks prepared meals. The grounds were terraced with wide steps to allow easy safe access to the waterfront. Our kids were in the water all day as the adults all had lots of deck chairs to sit in close to the water action. Highlights of our week were an easy and reasonable fishing boat rental from Muskoka Shore Cottages just down the road, a tubing afternoon courtesy of the friendly neighbour and a trip to a waterfall short distance away. The directions were well laid out in th cottage manual which was a comprehensive guide provided by the owner to cover any situation imaginable including phone numbers to reach the owner in case of an emergency. And we had perfect weather...sunshine everyday with no mosquitoes!!!! It was a wonderful week.

Heaven in Muskoka Family Vacation

Great communication with owner, via text and email made for a great vacation. Rosemary went out of her way to accommodate our stay. From niceties to sleeping provisions for our six month old baby. This cottage has every necessity you would need for a great vacation. Peaceful lake front cottage, with nice neighbors on either side. The only thing missing was a time machine to make our stay a lot longer as there are lots of things and events and exploring and relaxing to do in the area, that a week just isn't enough time. We mainly relaxed and enjoyed time with our family. Highlights: Mesmorizing scenery Large deck and Bbq Fully stocked kitchen Great private outdoor shower. Waterfront dock and great swimming spot. Moon lit water front fire pit. Thanks again Rosemary for a great vacation!

Great family holiday

Thank you to Rosemary for opening her family cottage for us. We stayed for 2 weeks with our children of ages 8,6, and 3. Lots of fishing (LOTS) and swimming and campfires and sitting on the porch watching the waves roll in. Over the long weekend the lake was quite busy with boaters and jet skiers but the rest of the time the lake was very calm and lots of time for us to get out on our rowboat that we brought. We also enjoyed lots of what the Muskoka region has to offer including some of the local beaches on the big lakes and even the waterpark at Clevelands House in Minnett. The cottage was packed with games for us to play as a family and some great old nostalgic disney movies on VHS. Yes VHS.

Past its prime

For a similar price our family has rented many cottages over the years in Muskoka and our overall review for this property is poor. We could list the many things that could be improved but in an attempt for some balance I'll mention 3 things good and 3 things bad about this rental. Good: - nice BBQ - large fenced in deck - lots of dry fire wood. Bad: - it seems the cottage was carpeted many many years ago and cluttered with so many things we could never firmly establish where all the mice running around inside at night were coming from - there is what seems to be a larger animal living in the ceiling - there is little to no sun on the dock in the afternoon.

Great Cottage for Families with Young Children

My family had a great time at this cottage in August. It is well suited for a family with young children (we have 3 children under the age of 5) since: a) there is access to shallow water; b) the cottage is on gently sloping land (rather than on a steep drop like many other Muskoka cottages); and c) there were some toys for the children at the cottage. My favourite part of the cottage was the “rock dock”. It is a very nice place to sit or lie down and relax by the water. I also loved the fact that the cottage has two large outdoor speakers connected to a stereo that made it possible for us to play music outside. We spent a lot of time in the evenings watching movies and tv shows using the harddrive. There were hundreds, if not thousands, of movies to choose from, most of which were recent. I should comment on the swimming area since the owner’s description of the cottage does not provide a lot of information about this. The entrance to the water area is almost beach like in that it starts out extremely shallow and gradually gets deeper, and that the bottom of the lake is sandy (there were no weeds in the swimming area). A large rock separates the shallow area from slightly deeper water. This rock is almost as high as the surface of the water, and was useful in keeping our young children out of the deeper water. On the deeper side of the rock, the water is about 3-3.5 feet deep. On this deeper side, the bottom of the lake is a little bit rocky (still weed free) but I did not mind the rocks as they were easy to walk on. As a whole, it was a very nice place to swim. The cottage itself was clean, comfortable and well stocked. One thing it is missing is an indoor shower (there is an indoor bath). The only shower is an outdoor (but private) shower located under the deck. Some people will like the outdoor shower, as there is something nice about taking a shower outside with a lake view. However, it may not be for everyone. For those who would prefer to not shower outside, they could instead take a bath.

I have owned this cottage since 1973 when my children were youngsters. I am a widow now with a daughter, son and 5 grandchildren. Our favourite place in the world is our cottage "Heaven in Muskoka". The family gather there as much as we can and have made many happy memories together. I hope I can share this cottage experience with my guests.

It is a perfect cottage to enjoy a Muskoka holiday in. We strive to make you feel at home and provide everything we can think of to make it trouble free. As a host I am available to answer any of your questions. I am available on my cell phone, the quickest by texting.
I like hearing from my guests. I keep my cell phone with me to respond asap.

A great location. Quiet, friendly neighbours, Comfortable and easy to feel at home there. The deck, the dock, the Lake and the views are fabulous. I never get tired of it all or wish for something else. We are close to Windermere, Port Carling, Bracebridge and Huntsville.....right in the middle of cottage country. The lake is mid size, and calm. We don't have the bigger boats, so it is a safe lake to use kayaks, canoes, rowboats as well as smaller motorized boats. We have a marina, Northland Recreation, located on the corner of Cowan Park Road (also our cottage road) to launch a boat if you bring one to the lake. Super convenient. I believe they rent sea doos and pontoon boats too. We are very close to two excellent golf courses, Windermere Golf club and Diamond in the Ruff also many others..

Closest grocery, 'Foodland, and liquor/beer stores, in Port Carling, next is Bracebridge which has many stores, M&M's two large grocery stores, shops on main street (Manitoba st) We have a GEM of a farm store (Taylor farms) 5 minutes from the cottage. They sell just about any food item, that you might need. Local baked goods (Chelsea buns, butter tarts pies-Yummy) dairy products, ice cream, veggies, fresh fruit. They have strawberry fields where you can pick your own in season. We eat buckets of strawberries when in season. Freezers full of meats. Fruit or meat pies and prepared meals. You won't go hungry.

2 peddle cars on the deck for the little kids to peddle about while the adults relax with a beverage or a snack.

On a clear night you can see millions of stars. The cottage faces S/E so the moon appears from that direction and shines a large swath of moonlight aimed right at our dock. So nice when you have a fire in the pit while roasting marshmallows.
