Be prepared
We booked and paid for our stay 1 year in advance for a 3 week stay. We have been coming here for the last 6 years. It used to be wonderful and charming.
The property was sold and changed to a new owner who decided to renovate. One day before our arrival from Pennsylvania, we were notified that our accommodations would not be available. Upon arrival we were given a smaller room. I asked for a refund for the difference between what we rented and what we given and I was told absolutely not. We were told that we were lucky to have a place to stay.
The new room was newly renovated but lacked many things. There was no table and chairs to eat off. No dresser. No couch. No smoke detector. The bathroom was very nice but no curtain in the shower. There was a vent fan cover but no fan. They tried to make things right by taking items leftover from the old rooms. The thinking is to make the room look beautiful but not practical. The small deck at our front door was in disrepair. Also, our room key unlocked three other units. The property manager is located in Columbia, SA. The owner just happened to be there and we delt with her, who is very condescending. Basically, the place is in total chaos due to renovation and severely mismanaged. Be cautious, be very cautious.
