If you've been needing a peaceful, private getaway for your next vacation, look no further than this incredible, wooded hillside home. You'll be three miles southwest of Angel Fire Resort and ski mountain which boasts 80+ ski trails in the winter and zip-lining chairlift rides in the summer. Tee off at Angel Fire Golf Course, and enjoy an 18-hole, par-72 course surrounded by the majestic southern Rocky Mountains. The Country Club has an array of amenities, such as its indoor swimming pool, fitness room, dining and bar area, and full-service golf shop - all at 8,600 feet elevation with views of Wheeler Peak, the tallest peak in New Mexico.

Walk through the front door right into your calm, inviting, and incredibly spacious living and dining area with vaulted pine ceilings. Here, comfortable furnishings surround the home's wood-burning fireplace, the perfect space to unwind. You'll have a lovely view of the vaulted ceiling overhead in the loft area, coupled with a desk area and a cozy bed. Ideal for large families, you'll be glad to know there is a crib, Pack-N-Play, and plenty of games for your kiddos to enjoy. Warm up by the fireplace and listen to the crackle of the wood burning, then head up to your bedroom and doze off into dreamland. The upstairs primary suite features a private balcony, an office workspace with a desk, monitor, keyboard, and mouse for remote work, and a double sofa bed for extra sleeping space. Outside, a lovely deck allows you to view the sunset and wildlife, and bask in the natural beauty in the distance - watch the stars in awe!

Home away from home

Our first time in Angel Fire and we’ll certainly be back! The home had all amenities we could have wished for and was super cozy with a great view, fully equipped kitchen, and an upstairs loft our daughter turned into her reading nook. Just out the door was tons of wildlife, from many local bird species to several large bucks on the Cougar Trail a short walk from the home. Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) were very happy!

Lovely Family Getaway

This home is a perfect getaway for our young family. We have been here twice now and absolutely love it. The open kitchen/living/loft area is a great, comfortable space to be together as a family but it also has comfortable separate rooms for when we want to be apart. The master suite is especially nice, with its own tv, office area and bath. The views and surroundings are amazing! The blinds have been replaced and automated on the main window wall since we last came. This was a huge upgrade. We really enjoy getting away from everything here and will keep coming back, if we can!

Lovely place

I would absolutely come back to this house I love the area and the home. Perfect for children. Stocked with toys. And beautiful views. Great neighborhood. Manager was always easy to ask questions. I wish there was an outdoor fire pit for marshmallows.. but the indoor fire was cute too.

Great nature get a way

We gathered here with family and friends for a long weekend getaway. It was a lovely home to gather in and watch the winter snow. It was fun watching the mule deer and elk herd pass through the yard. If you come in winter, be prepared to shovel snow.

Great location

Nice cabin in a great location. Beautiful scenery, lots of deer! Cabin had everything we needed. They keep plenty of spices for cooking! We brought our own but it was a nice surprise.

Wonderful stay!

Our large family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hopski House. The large open dining and living area accommodated our large gatherings well and the wrap-around porch gave us both open seating with a view of mountains and a sheltered option so sit out and enjoy the summer rain. The master bedroom was spacious and included both a work space and a cozy entertainment area. Our main reason for the 4 (rather than the 5) involved its cleanliness upon our arrival. But we will certainly think of coming back here again!

Excellent Family Home

We really enjoyed our stay. The deck was lovely. Lots of wildlife. Our group had ages 4-74 and we were all comfortable and happy. Lots of kids toys. Very well equipped kitchen. We stayed in June and were very comfortable without A/C.

Grand Time!!

The home was lovely and very comfortable! In a beautiful spot. The grandkids played so much outside and had an amazing time. Brought elderly parents with walkers and it was very easy to accommodate their needs after we got them up the stairs. (No handicap ramp) They were able to move about the house fairly easily and out onto the spacious covered porch and sit comfortably to watch and laugh at the great grandchildren. It was an amazing stay!! Fishing, swimming, and hiking very near! Would stay again and again!’n

Summer Family Vacation 2023

Very nice home, very comfortable for my family! The only thing that would have made it better would have been hummingbird feeders! There were flying about looking! I would have gladly filled them! We saw elk, deer, turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, and chipmunks from the deck. This thrilled my grandchildren! Thank you for allowing us to use your home!

Great Angel Fire house

Great house and location. I do have a few suggestions for the owner. 1. Bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen were very clean, living area had some dirt and "dust bunnies". 2. Get decent TV service (Directv or Dish) not everyone wants to wants Nexflix or other streaming services. Roku (sound was really bad) was in guest mode so i could not even add the streaming services I wanted and subscribe to. (Directv streaming) I know people do not come there to watch TV but it would be nice to have better options. 3. Balcony needs and umbrella, I saw this on a prior review. 4. Few larger baking sheets for a pizza. Overall great location and house, I would rent again. I also own a vacation rental in Kemah, TX and I appreciate it when people make suggestions on how to make it better.

Make Ready Issues

When we arrived, we could not open the blinds to enjoy the gorgeous views because the shade cords on several windows were broken & the metal shade between the glass on one of the patio doors does not operate well. However, when I contacted the property manager, she got someone out to the house the next day to remove three blinds completely which worked okay for us. By now, they may have been replaced. Moving the little table in front of the window ourselves to try to open the blinds, we found lots of debris which we swept up. Several light bulbs in the table lamp & in the house were out. Property manager told us where they were so my husband went about changing light bulbs! House needs a thorough cleaning: ceiling fans, piano top, & large beams. The beautiful windows are extremely dirty! Time for a fall cleaning!! Then we found a dirty towel hanging on the back of the primary bathroom door. Kitchen is pretty well equipped with nice appliances. We did have to scrape out the cast iron skillet to use it! The refrigerator had about 3 small dents in it & the wall where the trash can goes is really scraped badly & in need of paint. Beds we used (primary & downstairs queen) were comfortable. We sleep in different rooms do to our restlessness, but we slept well. If this were my home I would change the reclining couch in front of the TV as the other couch does not let one relax. We are VRBO landlords. My clients expect excellence. We would consider it again next year, tho.

Great location

Great location! We chose this place for my husband and me for our vacation, 6 days. We would give this property 5 stars if we did not find a few issues. When we arrived, we found a number of issues: - There were empty plastic bottles and broken glass bottles outside - ⁠The pans and pots were greasy - ⁠Three of the window blinds on the front window had a broken cord and could not be opened. - We chose this location for our retreat because the listing said the wood-burning fireplace and mountain-view home. We travel a lot and have the big experience with wood-burning fireplaces. We had the first problem in our life ever. The fireplace doesn't start with a closed door. According to Vacasa' requirements the door must be shut when the fireplace in use. But after the door is shut, the flame is choked and fire is killed almost immediately. Just huge smoke and no flame. It is impossible to use it this way. Either the rules have to be updated or the fireplace needs reworking. Probably its inlet is kind of closed or pretty small. Our concern is that we spent 6 nights fighting the fireplace instead of enjoying it. And we got no help, just some odd suggestions. The service guy never arrived. Future guests, be careful when visiting this house. The private road has a sharp metal stick. Unfortunately we got a problem, on the way to Angels Fire ski resort the rear wheel of our truck got cut by a sharp metal stick, which sits on a side of the driveway where it merges the road. It is not seen when you drive down the driveway. Probably it used to be a post but now it is just a leftover. It cut the side of the tire and the tire is not repairable anymore. It is the edge of the private driveway where it merges Santo Domingo Trail. As the tire was cut it lost all the pressure almost immediately. And we stopped around the corner. There were several neighbours passing by and offering help while we were changing the wheel. One of the neighbours even came down by feet and we had a nice talk about repair shops around.
