Paradise Found

Enjoyed our stay in the condo and it is a great location. Coffee on the lanai watching the whales was a highlight each morning. The owner was very responsive and easy to deal with. Will definitely consider staying here again on our next Maui visit.

Perfect Oceanfront Stay in Maui – Highly Recommend!

5-Star Review:We had an incredible stay at this Maui rental and can’t recommend it enough!The unit was spotless, well-maintained, and looked exactly like the photos. Being oceanfront was a dream—perfect for cocktail hours while watching the waves and enjoying sunsets in mid/late December just within view. The patio’s orientation kept it cool, as it never received direct sunlight, which was a huge plus.The unit stayed comfortable throughout our stay, and we didn’t need to use the AC. Two large fans were provided, and we used one in the bedroom to keep a nice airflow from the living room. TVs were available in both rooms, though we couldn’t figure out what made the bedroom TV “smart” since only cable seemed to work.The kitchen was well-stocked with appliances, plates, and other essentials. While we noticed the washing machine pods were missing upon arrival, the host promptly resolved this after quick communication, which we really appreciated.The location was unbeatable—within walking distance of coffee shops, stores, food trucks, and beachside bars. The resort itself was amazing with plenty of activities and spacious common areas, so it never felt crowded despite being lively.We had such a fantastic time here and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend!

Very convenient to everything

I did not realize it until we arrived but the condo is convenient for going to beaches, grocery shopping, restaurants and food trucks. Very nice to sit in the lanai overlooking the ocean. Condo is clean and well-equipped with beach chairs and snorkel gear.

Excellent location and property!

Maintenance issues

First 31/2 days of our 7 day stay we listened to a defective A/C unit, bearings were shot and fan blades warped. The condo was not inspected prior to being offered for rent to ensure everything was in good working order. Not enough supplies IE: toilet tissue, paper towels and washing pods for a 7 day stay. We purchased additional supplies and left them for the next tenant. I think issues are not the fault of the owner but on the property manager.The bed was comfortable and the views and grounds are wonderful.

Mauai Vacation Spot

The location was perfect! The view from the balcony was even better than the picture listed. The condo was nicely updated, clean, and was perfect for us. We appreciated the putters and golf balls in the condo. The resort was great and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The unit did not have central air but did have a window unit in the living room, ceiling fans, and a box fan for the bedroom which kept us cool and comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful Oceanfront Condo

My wife and I stayed 5 nights in March. Bev was an excellent host. She was very quick to respond to any questions. We had a few minor issues, we texted her and she showed up later that day to fix the items. The condo has all the supplies you need. The bed is very comfortable. There were beach chairs, an umbrella, cooler, and snorkel equipment. This third floor unit is directly on the ocean. We slept with the balcony door open and the sound of the waves was better than any sound machine! The Papakea resort is outstanding as we have stayed there several times before. I highly recommend the resort and this condo.

Beautiful Ocean View

The third floor lanai had a amazing view of the ocean. We spent a lot of time taking in the view. Whales were active and a couple of Monk seals were feeding right in front of us a couple of nights. Binoculars and beach gear were available for use. Kitchen was stocked with dishes and utensils, toaster and coffee makers. Cleanliness overall was good aside from the floors. I know with the beach, sand traffic it is difficult to keep up with. The air conditioner was very loud. We did not really need to use it. The Lani offered a nice breeze and the ceiling fans helped circulate air. Bed was comfortable. Location was great. We could walk to many food options, groceries and along the beach.

View of paradise

We had a lovely stay. The property is beautiful and well-kept. We loved that we could easily soak in the ocean every day. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook. Thank you so much for a wonderful and relaxing stay.

Great views at wonderful resort.

Property is ideally located on the shore with a perfect 3rd floor elevation. It had everything we needed for our comfortable & relaxing 8 night stay. From our balcony we saw colorful sunsets & (since I’m an astronomy buff) found Venus, Mercury, and Mars together in the twilight. Mercury is very hard to see so was quite a thing! We also witnessed a marriage proposal while sitting on our balcony & joined in applause with other onlookers. The resort was clean and the cute little birds & lizards properly stayed outside where they belonged. Loved the pools, putting greens, plentiful recliners on the grassy areas along the sea wall. Kitchen had everything we needed & the A/C, ceiling fans, & cool night breezes kept things comfortable even in July humidity & temps. Hope to return again some day. Highly recommended!

Super spot to visit Maiu

Great location and the unit was well furnished clean and functional. Kitchen nicely equipped. It’s a big development but this unit is right on the water. Third floor provided good view of ocean. Only issue was we did not realize there was a resort fee in addition to our Vrbo fee. But it was worth it since we got to play pickle ball. Shuffleboard and used the pool and spa.

We live in Northern California and have been fortunate to visit Maui with our family. During the winter months, we have enjoyed our time at Papakea Resort. In 2009 we discovered Papakea and loved the oceanfront location and the tropical grounds. In 2010 we were fortunate to find a wonderful oceanfront condo. We hope that you will enjoy our home-away-from home as much as we do.

Maui provides for outdoor activities such as golf, and snorkeling right off of the shore only minutes from the condo. We chose this property because it is on the water, there are great local restaurants within minutes walk, and you can walk across the road to a fantastic shopping market to get dinner then bbq by the pool watching the sunset.

Papakea Resort offers 2 very large swimming pools and hot tubs as well as 12 gas barbecues. There are 2 putting greens and lighted tennis courts that are provided free of charge. Tennis racquets and putters can be checked out at the front desk.. There is complimentary WiFi in the condo. The koi ponds are beautiful as well as the lush tropical foliage.
