LATEST REVIEW- The NEW Bamboo Porch is so amazing! There is road noise but sitting on the bamboo porch with the curtains and sunshine and a cup of Tea or Coffee is the best! This unique place has a style all its own! With each Guest in mind the Owner looks forward to providing a Great Stay! The home is old but Charming ;) and like our Grandparents and Seniors still super sweet! so please keep that in mind! Everything is clean and working order! Some previous reviews have tried to get free stays by giving false reviews so please keep that in mind. 6 New photos of outside Bamboo Fence, New Black FUTON Couch and NEW Bathroom Floor all added 1.1.2025! - Close to downtown and Riverside, Avondale and UF hospital is only a4 minute drive out. It's also close to shopping, activities, Festivals, Parks, the water and More! UF Travel Nurses and Doctors, Executives and similar this home will provide the cleanliness, and Privacy of having a whole home to yourself that you need after a long day and only 3 minutes from Downtown Jax UF Hospital. Take a short 8 minute drive to the RiverCity for live music or to Riverside for Riverfront picnics and naps! New ceiling fans, Smart screen TV, Tommy Bahama Furnishings in several rooms, USB outlets, printer, a selection of great books to read on the Sun Porch/Study, there are plenty of places in this home to sit back relax and enjoy!

A lot of stuff going on

Very cold not enough heaters the ac things in the rooms don’t work and the outlets in the rooms don’t work also the door was very hard to close.

DO NOT BOOK

My brother and I was stuck outside while it was cold trying to get into the house from 12am-3am. After calling her 20 times, I had to call a locksmith due to the code that I received was not the code to the lockbox. The locksmith even confirmed that the lockbox was no good after he even tried to unlock it. Once we got into the house there was trash all over the floor including dirty socks, empty jello cups, and a lot of dirt. The outlets in the rooms did not work as we had to plug up everything outside of our rooms in order to keep our phones charged. The a/c units wouldn’t turn on even when we plugged them up. Barely had any communication with the host. The listing definitely isn’t what it looks like in the pictures.

negative

i didn’t not like it could not get in from the outside. the lockbox would not open so i could receive the key. this really was a scam because i could not get in and didn’t stay also i called the host 15+ times with no response.

DO NO RENT

For multiple reasons, we did not feel safe staying in this house. First, multiple neighboring homes had bars on the windows, which indicates concerns for their homes. This house does not have that security feature. Additionally, there was some suspicious activity in the area. When we were trying to get into the home, the door would not open. After multiple calls and texts, we felt unsafe staying outside and unprotected for as long as it was taking to get into the home. The host never replied through the vrbo app and only got back to me when I texted them. By the time i had been contacted, I would have had to wait 30 minutes outside or in my untinted car, which was the only car on the street. Additionally, the curb appeal was off-putting-- home and lawn area was unkempt. At the front door was a stack of new and old mail, the lawn grass length was mid calf, there were two large trash bins overflowing on the sidewalk in front of the house with additional bags on the ground. This was in addition to two large trash bins in the lawn area, chip bags and other trash along the sidewalk, old frame leaning on the porch. Overall, the pictures posted on Vrbo are no longer accurate. I was misled when booking this property and was disappointed with the home when we arrived. The state of the home on the outside was unacceptable and not what I agreed to pay for. We never got into the house and ended up making other arrangements.

Small, listing not correct and dirty

Listing states there are 4 beds in 2 rooms, however upon arrival, there were only 2 beds (1in each room). The place was dirty and didn't look as if was cleaned, even though we pay for cleaning fees. There was patch work done with wood in random areas, walls, counter tops, and ceiling. The toilet leaked water all over the bathroom floor after one time of use and there were outlets that were loose and not secured to the wall with holes. The fence was not secured properly, looked like bungee cords were use, trash out front, and nails were sticking out of random places where it seemed something may have been "repaired". Also the front door did not latch all the way so it was hard to lock the door. Would not recommend staying, we thankfully only stayed one night. It was too late to try and find somewhere else to stay and we had already paid money to stay there.

House stay

Lady was very helpful with things to do and places to eat house was clean pictures are correct to what it loks like but things are cheaply done you can tell its a mask to a proplem under the decor but still very nice. I left a day early left her key in the house she called me said she cant get in the house which a had a door code for i was sleeping instead of waiting to get ahold of me she called a locksmith and charged me for it. Other than tht everything was great. I just wish seh would of waited to get ahold of me
