Mid-century modern, Kauaian styled home provokes feelings of coziness, nostalgia and a spirit of adventure. Honoring the 60's Hawaii of craftsmanship, hand-made furniture, art and linens, this uniquely, beautifully curated home will embrace you with Aloha. Relax poolside with mai tai's from the Tiki Bar, or lounge in the retro-styled living room, or dine in the whole-family sized pool view dining room.
No parties or additional guests allowed. Noise complaint fines - As this home is in close proximity to residential neighbors, it is imperative that noise levels be kept to a minimum throughout your stay, and that you honor the noise curfews of 9 pm through 8 am. This means, any disruptive noises, such as screaming, children playing loudly, talking/laughing loudly, at any time, may solicit a complaint from the neighbors. We ask that you manage your noise levels appropriately. If there are complaints re: noise, you will be contacted and informed of the type of noise that is a disturbance. If there are additional complaints, you may be charged up to $500 (in PV, the first noise complaint, if received from the PV patrol, is automatically $200). If there are further complaints, after multiple warnings and lo you will be asked to leave the property. As this home has AC, if you overuse/abuse the AC – defined as using more than 100kWH per day (*average dailv electrical use, in this property, with AC, is 40 - 60kWH) – you'll be charged $50 per day of overuse.

The property was just as advertised and perfect for our needs. The communication with the owner was above and beyond. Everything was easy and simple. One of our best experiences in 15 years of renting with VRBO. Highly recommend for a trip to the North Shore of Kauai.

This property was perfect for our stay. The backyard pool was a big bonus...my granddaughter loved it. The propertywas clean...kitchen well stocked. It looks like the photos..nicely decorated and comfortable.

Great location!

This property is in a great location to enjoy everything the north shore offers. The house was amazing, our teenage son enjoyed the pool, while we layed back in the hot tub after long days of hiking. It's also a short walk to Sea Lodge beach. Awsome place!

Nice home for a family

We enjoyed our stay. Property was clean and well maintained…the pictures of the property show it perfectly. With 7 people constantly taking showers after the beach or pool we could have used more bath towels…we washed towel so many times. Overall a great stay and would highly recommend.

Beyond Amazing

Beautiful home and perfect location. The house was exactly like the photos and very clean and well maintained. There were boogie boards, snorkel gear, bikes, sand toys and a cooler, which was all we needed for the beach. Can’t wait to come back!

House comfortable and well appointed

Beautiful house in quiet, residential neighborhood. Fun pool, hot tub, ping pong table on the property for the times when the surf was too dangerous to swim and we were exhausted from the hikes.Great communication with manager. The kitchen could have used some larger serving platters and bowls for when we cooked at home but we improvised and had some delicious meals. Overall, great experience for first time family trip to Kauai!

Beautiful Home!

Ka Hale Nalu was the perfect place for our Princeville getaway. Ideally located, immaculately clean and maintained, oozing with mid-century charm and wonderful details from the appliances to the record player. Our kids loved the ping pong table and the pool, and we loved the layout and cool A/C on warm nights. Lauren and Midori were amazing property managers, so responsive and helpful at every turn. Highly recommend!

Love this mid century modern

This house was beautiful and fully stocked with anything you needed!! Lauren was helpful and kept great communication. We travelled with our 23 and 18 year old and they too loved everything about the home. Very clean and provided us with everything. Our 4 days on that side of the island flew by and unfortunately we did not get to enjoy the gorgeous pool. Thanks Lauren, we will definitely recommend this home to any of our friends visiting and would stay again. Also a great location to everything we wanted to see on the North Side.

Princeville stay

The house is very well stocked, clean, private & convenient. Pool, hottub, beach equipment, great bikes. The only reason that I don’t give this a five star rating is because the screen doors don’t latch which we felt was concern with a toddler’s access to the pool. We felt it would be helpful to have a bit more information About the rugged trail to the beach. We took the toddler down there in a backpack carrier and found it very difficult. Our mistake but a warning about the trail would’ve been most appreciated.

The decor of the house was extremely cute and the kitchen and garage amenities were very thoughtful. We liked a lot of things about the house, but there were various items that kept it from being quite 5 stars. On the plus side, the property manager was very responsive and promised to fix a lot of the things I brought up, such as fixtures falling out of the walls, moldy smell in one of the air conditioning units, questionable master bathroom shower head, clogged hair dryer filter, bathroom lock not working. Those might be fixed by now.Probably the biggest issue for us as parents of a small child is we had no idea there were no light-blocking shades in any of the bedrooms. The windows are covered by very cute straw thatch shades that do not block ANY LIGHT at all. In Hawaii in the summer it's light out till 8:30 pm and gets bright at 5:30 am. If you have a small child who is sensitive to that, you'll want to take that into consideration.Be warned that if you're running the washing machine while showering in the bathroom near the garage, the water randomly and constantly alternates hot and cold and it's kind of brutal. The bed in master bedroom was super comfortable! But the guest who had the bay bed said the mattress felt old and was uncomfortable.This is a VERY cute house with nice amenities, including beach chairs, sand toys, surfboards, etc. It's generally well kept. The pool is great - daughter loved it. It certainly has 5-star potential!

It's frustrating when guests wait until long after they depart to let us know of any issues they are having with the property. Our policy is to immediately repair, adjust or replace anything broken or problematic. We were not given that chance with this guest, who sent a list of "issues" the day after their departure. Upon checking on the issues, we found that the "fixtures falling out of the walls" was one TP holder turned 1/4" to the right, AC's all smelling fine (esp after having a full system maintenance/clean a week prior to guests arrival), hair dryer clogged w/guest's own hair (which was strewn all over the house), all mattresses in this property were purchased at the same time (2 years ago) and are the exact same, so any difference was interpretation by guest. It's true that the hot water adjusts slightly when using the washing machine at the same time and the light-filtering blinds do not offer black out coverage. We truly appreciate guest's feedback and input - and always respond to issues brought up during the guest's stay. It's disappointing that this guest kept her list of grievances to herself till after departure, apparently for the purpose of posting a complaint-filled review.
