Absolute gem! The house is amazing. Beautiful view if the mountains. The host was always quick to respond when I had questions. We did have a bear come to the property the day we were leaving, so make sure you lock all doors to vehicles. I highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the Gatlinburg area. I know if we come back, I would rent the house again.

This property is even better than advertised. The photos can’t do justice to the amazing views especially as the sun hits the mountains at different times of the day. So peaceful and relaxing! The property manager was the best to work with of any other we’ve communicated with across all our VRBO stays. Highly recommend and we can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful home with an amazing view of Mount LeConte. Lots of amenities to keep everyone entertained. Relatively close to the Gatlinburg Parkway, maybe within 10-15 minutes. Keep in mind that properties with such an incredible view require traveling up some steep and winding narrow roads, but that was part of the adventure. Owner was very responsive and easy to work with. We absolutely enjoyed our stay.

Rick was awesome when it came to communication, very prompt. Check in and out was a breeze, he sent an email with very detailed instructions. The home was absolutely amazing! Beautiful views just as advertised. Plenty of accommodations available in the house and kitchen for whatever you need. Beds were super comfy, theater room was a hit with the kids and adults and the pool was a great bonus for the kids. Couldn't have asked for anything more!

Loved this cabin!!!!

Loved the cabin, loved the location. We saw a bear within 5 minutes of arriving at the cabin (something that had been on my bucket list) The view was AMAZING!!! Grandkids loved the pool!! Although, they were all 4 and under they were sad to leave the cabin and keep saying they want to go back. WE WILL DEFINATELY BE BACK!!!

Great view

Great property with amazing views of the great Smokey’s. Lots of fun activities in the house . The only thing that we were not able to figure out was the sound system in the media room. But overall great stay.

The house has a great location and is very clean, but a few issues need attention:•The bedroom exit door doesn’t latch, and some bathroom doors don’t lock.•The main floor bathroom window lacks privacy.•The ice maker isn’t working.•I was told the pool is limited to 80F unless I pay 50 to raise it by 5F. If guests are paying for a heated pool, a comfortable temperature range should be included.•The BBQ is in the parking lot, which isn’t ideal, especially with wildlife in the area.•While the view is nice, the front-facing windows and door should have blinds for privacy.Thank you.

Absolutely wonderful place with a view!

We had nothing but great times here at this property. The house was amazing and the view was even better. The kids had a blast with the games and the pool that was available.The pool area was very clean and well taken care of, and also had a code lock on the door so the kids could not go in without the code. The amazing view from the balconies was nothing shy of spectacular, and to sit in the hot tub and enjoy the view was even better. Highly recommend this property, as I feel we would definitely be coming back in the future.

Gatlinburg in May

The property was as described. My wife does a thorough cleaning job when we arrive at any property (Clorox wipes counters, toilets, use a lint guard on the bedroom sheets, etc.) and she was very impressed with the level of cleanliness. The view from the deck was as pictured! House was decorated very well and it was one of the best houses we have rented. We would stay there again, most definitely.

Beautiful property but not clean

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was so disappointing I feel obligated to warn others. Upon arrival at Rick’s vacation home, we encountered an unfortunate state of the home. One bedroom had candy wrappers on the floor, a used sucker stick, and visible dust balls scattered around and under the bed — clearly it hadn’t been cleaned in some time or properly. If that wasn’t bad enough, the other bedroom had a feces stain on the comforter.When I reached out to Rick to express my concerns, rather than taking accountability, he blamed me — claiming that because my parents arrived early and waited in the driveway, therefore his inspector wasn’t able to properly assess the home before our stay. As if someone waiting outside the property prevents someone else from inspecting the cleaning job on the inside of the house. His response was condescending, dismissive, and downright insulting. Rather than focusing on addressing the legitimate hygiene and cleanliness issues, he implied that we were somehow responsible.A cleaning crew was sent that day and the rooms were cleaned. However, the way Rick treated me, gaslighting me, acting as if I was at fault because the inspector supposedly couldn’t inspect due to a vehicle being in the driveway is what upsets me more than anything. As someone who owns and rents out a second property myself, I can confidently say: this is not how you treat your guests or maintain a rental.

Mountain Paradise

My family stayed at this beautiful house for Christmas. The house was everything we could have hoped for - clean, spacious, and lots of activities to keep everyone happy. We loved the hot tub on the deck and the kids played in both game rooms the entire stay. The view was amazing and the location was perfect - mostly secluded! Amazing Views!

We took our family of 4 and the kid's grandparents with us for a nice October week. The views were AMAZING and the cabin was everything we needed to get away from the city and enjoy a break. There were plenty activities in the cabin and the kitchen was large enough for everyone to move around when it was time to cook and eat. We will DEFINITELY look to stay in this beautiful cabin on our next trip!

Beautiful cabin in the mountains

This is a gorgeous cabin with all the amenities you need! The views are amazing and the location is perfect! Our family stayed 2 weeks here and loved every minute! You are secluded in the mountains but close enough to downtown gatlinburg and pigeon forge. Everytime we would venture out we couldn’t wait to get back to the cabin! Oh and we saw bears and a grey fox come right through our yard! A few things to mention, internet is slow, water pressure is slow but yet plenty enough that you’ll need! If this displeases you don’t stay on the mountains!! lol. You can really unwind and relax here, and that’s exactly what we did!

Beautiful!

This home is absolutely beautiful with stunning views and things for the whole family to enjoy! The pool, game room and hot tub were some of our favorites. Sadly the major downfall for us was the internet access. Internet speed was so slow that we were unable to enjoy the beautiful theatre room that our kids (5&7) were very excited about. We also had to rely on cell service for our phones because of the awful WiFi. One of the upstairs walk in showers was filthy, but otherwise the home was clean. Limited cookware which posed a challenge when making a big meal, but we were able to make it work. All in all the property was beautiful, clean, accommodating and had an accurate online description. We will absolutely be staying here again in the future.

Very nice

The cabin is just as nice as it looks in pictures. Beautiful view from balcony. Furniture and decor was very nice and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. Theater room was fantastic , has surround sound. We had 10 people , one of which was a 7 yr old.we stayed 4 nights 5 days. Our family really enjoyed our vacation.

Beautiful view

Location is great if you want quiet mountain experience within short drive to Gatlinburg. House is nice. View from porches is absolutely beautiful. Saw bears on roads on way back from the store to the house. Fun for everyone to see cubs & mama bear 💕. Hot tub is nice. View under the stars was relaxing. We had 9 people; 5 adults and 4 kids ranging in age from 2-9. Bunk beds were great to give cousins time together. Movie theater seats were comfortable. Kitchen set up was good for fixing meals and feeding large group at once. Beds were comfortable. Charcoal grill is like one found at a campsite. Firepit was relaxing to sit around under the stars. Game rooms were fun for both kids & adults. Swimming pool is smaller than expected. Water was cold (80°) not a heated pool. Pool door has a lock but door jam has problems so attention needs to be given to make sure door locks. No board games, only 1 puzzle. Internet connection is not stable. Hard to watch tv or a movie because of poor connection. Power went out late night. Through Google search found name of power company. Also found out the hard way that water is not available in power outage due to water pump needing electricity. Limited number of towels. No extra for swimming pool. Not enough pillow cases for extra pillows. Cleanliness is questionable as we found socks & other items by bedroom nightstand and bag of garbage under bathroom sink.

Week long oasis

I wish I could give this cabin 10 stars! I come to Gatlinburg twice a year and this is by far one of the best cabins we’ve stayed in. The drive up to the cabin is a breeze and the cabin has everything you can imagine. Thank you Rick for the hospitality and beautiful cabin home. We will be back ❤️

The PERFECT Home Away From Home

We're a large family of 10 that comes back to this area year after year. While we have loved all of our stays and trying new places, this may be our return spot for years to come. The view can not be beat...the reviews are accurate, pictures do not do it justice. Just awesome. If you cook, you will not be disappointed...everything you need to prepare and store during your stay is available with enough serving ware for your entire party. They have spared no expense for comfort also, from couches to mattresses. You can tell they have guests in mind and not just the rental fees. We were never bored between the hot tub, pool, theater, and game areas. The location is on point as well...minutes from Downtown Gatlinburg but the feeling of being alone in the hills. Just wonderful.

Our family started renting STR vacation properties in 2010 in Fort Walton Beach, FL. It was always my mothers dream to own a condo at the beach. We have been fortunate enough to make this a full time business via Destin West Escapes. We are super excited to open Smoky Mtn Escapes in both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. During 2023 we will add all three cabins in the smokies. It is our goal to be a small part of your family making memories!
