Beachfront Windansea Escape ideal for families

Welcome to your dream La Jolla beachfront vacation home! This spacious 6 bedroom 5 bathroom home commands a stunning location directly on Windansea Beach. With ocean views from nearly every room, you’ll be treated to surfers and dolphins playing in the waves during the day and spectacular sunsets in the evenings.

The home features an open floor plan with plenty of space for entertaining. The home was recently renovated and re-decorated with new electronics (including NFL Sunday Ticket) and luxury Frette linens throughout.

The space
Upstairs features a spacious open floor plan dining, living, family room and kitchen ideal for entertaining and family gatherings. An ocean view and garden view bedroom share a full bathroom. A courtyard-facing office with a daybed and full bathroom are also located upstairs. All spaces have easy access to a deck spanning the entire structure on the ocean side with plenty of space to dine, entertain or soak in the views. The “inland” side features a spacious and lush courtyard with a tranquil fountain, plenty of seating areas, outdoor dining and a bbq.

Downstairs features three ocean-view bedrooms with direct access to the pool deck. A fourth ocean-view bedroom is furnished with a bunk bed and is ideal for young families. A family room with a bar and entertainment system also provide a space for gathering downstairs.

Pool gates available upon request; pool is heated to 84 degrees.

This home was perfect for our small leadership team's retreat! Everyone had their own room with a view of the beautiful ocean. The home was clean, the kitchen was well stocked, and there were plenty of linens. James was very responsive when we got locked out or had some slow shower drains. We could not have had a better trip, and Jame and his home was a huge part of this!

This property was very clean! The views and location are excellent. Super easy to get to the beach if you prefer to be in the ocean but it was great having a fresh water pool that is warm along with the sounds and sights of the ocean. Great space with plenty of rooms and very well stocked. Did plenty of cooking and there were sufficient utensils, dishes, appliances to have a great time. Overall, one of our very best VRBO experiences!

We had a simply wonderful stay at Windansea. The property is as it appears a truly special place, exquisitely and thoughtfully decorated, stocked with quality household items and maintained to a high standard. The location itself, Windansea Beach and tide pool area is a really beautiful natural retreat that you can tell is appreciated by the friendly local people who visit. Almost every evening was a beautiful sunset…very special. Thank you James for being helpful with all pre trip questions and in stay assistance. The whole check in and out process was easy and simple. We are already starting to plan a trip back in the spring! Great great place!!

Incredible Views - Terrific House

The view is second to none. The house is appointed beautifully -- wonderful glassware, lovely linens, everything you might need available. It feels like 4 separate wings the way the bedrooms are spread out -- definitely perfect for a family gathering. James was just great to deal with. Easy access to the sandy beach. Just a perfect location :)

Family Fun

Great location, great owner, and a great house. We had 10 adults and a toddler in our group and everyone loved all the spaces, deck, pool, courtyard, and beach access. Would book again with James anytime!

Incredible location, home and host!

We stayed at this property for our mom’s 70th birthday celebration and it did not disappoint. The host was so accommodating and made everything perfect upon arrival and throughout the stay. The layout of the home allowed for family gatherings but also for the privacy we needed. The views of the beach and sunset far exceeded expectations. We will most certainly be back!

Worth it!

The owner was very responsive. The view was extraordinary. There were ocean view from 5 of 6 bedrooms (a unique feature of this lovely home). Kitchen was organized and easy to navigate. Owner very thorough in explaining features of the home, nearby restaurants, and activities. Our family enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Beyond magical

I really hate to rave about this incredible place as we would love to keep it a secret for ourselves. The house is perfect as is the location — waking up to the call of gulls and pelicans each day, surfing, lazing around the pool. Everything is super clean, great interior decoration and room for people to get away from each other. Couldn’t ask for anything else!

Unbelievable

The photos are impressive but seeing this property in person for the first time is incredible. It is such a special spot. We felt fortunate to be there and appreciate the owners’ choice to share it. Having the ocean right there - the view, the sound of waves , the smell, the entertainment of watching surfers. We just loved it. It was easy to get around with a rental car. The kitchen is equipped well enough that we cooked a whole turkey dinner for Christmas. We enjoyed breakfasts with the amazing view and cocktails watching the sun set. Such a cool house - thank you!

Stunning Views--Great Time

My extended family of 10 thoroughly enjoyed our time together! James was attentive, friendly, and helpful! The house fit us all but I would not recommend anyone sleep in the upstairs office room if avoidable as it is very loud from pipes and other noises at night. Other than that, all was fabulous!

Stunning property in most extraordinary location

We held our annual family vacation week here at this spectacular property. Perched on the cliffs with views directly over San Diego’s most beautiful beach, this enormous house allowed 12 adults to have both communal and separate quiet space. If you dislike watching the best surfers on the coast on one of the largest curls, or if you dislike shimmering sunsets with flocks of pelicans flying in formation overhead, or if you hate watching dolphins and whales and sea lions swimming close to shore, this is not your place.

Family Weekend Stay

My family and I stayed at James' property for a long weekend getaway. We had an amazing time and spent most of our stay at the house because it was such a beautiful view and great weather. We visited in October. We usually have trouble finding large properties, but there was plenty of room to accommodate our family, aging from 30-80 years old. I even had my newborn son with. Our favorite place to hang was the living area and the the pool deck. James was great as a host, very responsive and accommodating. We hope to stay again soon!

Indescribable beauty

This place is magical. The view is everywhere! We loved the soothing sound of the ocean, the breeze through the house, the pool, the beach just steps away, a great spot to introduce the grand kids to the ocean. James, our host responded to my questions quickly, and was always available and very accommodating to our schedule. This neighborhood is filled with gorgeous homes and a walk in any and all directions is a must. I wish we were still there. Honestly in love with this property. Thank you James! We hope to be back soon!

Perfect Oceanfront Home for our Family Vacation!

We spent a week at this beautiful home for our annual family vacation. The home was perfect for our 3 generation family (ranging from 6 months old to 60 years old). Some of the notable highlights include:James was a great host and very responsive!Ocean views from almost every room in the house. Enjoyed watching the surfers and sunsets.Walking distance to the beach - literally the walkway is one house over and at low tide its a great clean beach to enjoy.Walking distance to La Jolla Cove, Bird Rock, restaurants, and coffee shops.Plenty of parking for our 3 large vehicles (2 full-size crew cab trucks and a full size GMC SUV) using the garage and driveway area. This is a big plus when street parking is essentially not available during busy times (e.g weekends).Resort like backyard with large pool.James offered to install the safety pool fence around the pool which was a plus for us with 4 kids under the age of 6.Great assortment of pool toys, beach toys and family games.Large private patio with so much space for kids to play and family to hang out.Well furnished kitchen with all the kitchen essentials (well stocked and all in excellent condition).Layout of the house with bedrooms in different wings provided nice privacy. Overall, the house was extremely comfortable to spend time and make family memories!
