Conveniently located on a quiet tree lined street, houses away from lookout overlooking Lake Mi and two community beach stops, park w/ playground, volleyball, basketball & tennis courts, 9 hole full size golf course, pro shop with ice cream, village hall w/ rentable event space overlooking the golf course, & more. AC in house and huge screened porch with lots of screened windows capturing frequent Lake MI breezes and soothing sounds just houses away. 6-night min Memorial–Labor Day, 2-night min otherwise. Neighboring home also for rent.

This house was everything I wanted for a weekend away. The Grand beach community is very nice, quiet and clean. Beach access is easy. The yard was great for my dog and the fire pit was awesome. I would say the upstairs is better in person than in the pictures. The stairs are steep though. I highly recommend a stay in this house and the area.

The host tried very hard to arrange games, kids toys, etc. to make things special. They were also very accommodating for check in and out. We really appreciated that. While the cottage was very nostalgic for the Grand Beach cottage where I stayed in the 1960's, it was equally rustic. Do not expect hotel level accommodations. There have been some upgrades, but more are needed. This is probably a great spot for two families with lots of kids or a multiple young person stays for folks going to the beach or area casinos. It was very pricy for what you got for the three folks who ended up staying there. Also, it is NOT for seniors or individuals with mobility issues. The stairs to the second floor were incredibly steep, barely as wide as half my foot, requiring either holding on to the steps (up) or the railings/walls (down). The cleaning crew also needs to step up their game. While the rooms were clean, there was an open food jar in the kitchen cabinet and there was trash in the bathroom cabinets from prior renters.I will say though that we pretty much acclimated to the place by the end of the two days. Sitting out on the porch was very nice.

We really enjoyed our stay at Oak Lawn! The location is hard to beat, just a couple of blocks from the beach, making it an easy and enjoyable walk to the lake every day. The sunsets are AMAZING and the house has a charming, rustic lake cottage feel that fits the Grand Beach atmosphere perfectly. It was very clean when we arrived, and the air conditioning was a huge plus during the warmer days.The home has plenty of seating, especially on the large front porch, which was a great place to relax. However, the wicker furniture and cushions are showing their age and could use some updating. A few simple improvements, such as new cushions, rugs, and refreshing some of the indoor and outdoor spaces, would make the property even more inviting.The kitchen worked well for basic meals but is on the small side, so it’s difficult for multiple people to prepare food at the same time. The washer and dryer (bonus) are located in a separate room off the back deck rather than inside the main house, which is worth noting but not a big deal.Overall, we had a wonderful stay. If you’re looking for a clean, classic lake cottage in an excellent location within walking distance of the beach, Oak Lawn is a great choice. We’d definitely stay here again.
