Raccoon Cabin @ Orange Tractor Retreat: a modern cabin on 40 wooded acres

Tucked next to the woods and built for easy, quiet stays.

Raccoon Cabin is a quiet, tucked-away option, with a patio that looks directly into the pine forest and connects easily to the walking trails—perfect for slower mornings and peaceful evenings.

Like all five cabins at Orange Tractor Retreat, it’s thoughtfully positioned around a private cul-de-sac on 40 wooded acres above the Wisconsin River—giving you both a sense of your own space with easy access to the property’s trails and shared surroundings.

Inside, you’ll find everything you need for a seamless stay: Raccoon sleeps four with a queen bed and bathroom on the main floor, plus two twin beds in the loft space. A main level queen sleeper sofa is available for up to two additional guests for an added fee. The cabin is fully stocked with everything you need: quality linens and towels, walk-in shower, well-equipped kitchen, coffee and tea, spices, games, and a smart TV (just bring your passwords). There’s also Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace should you need to keep up!

Step through the sliding glass doors to your private patio, where Adirondack chairs, a Solo Stove fire pit (with firewood), picnic table, and a gas grill invite you to settle in and enjoy the quiet.

Dogs are welcome, with durable flooring, a cozy dog bed, and lots of wooded walking paths right outside.

After booking, we’ll share our curated guide to the area—favorite supper clubs, restaurants, hiking spots, and local gems—so you can enjoy both the energy of the Dells and the peaceful escape of Orange Tractor Retreat.

Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. You’re welcome to continue enjoying the cabin and outdoor spaces during this time—just with a lower volume and respect for the peaceful setting.

Dells Escape

Immaculately maintained cabin not far from the Dells. Perfect for a family stay. On-site trails and firepit made for an excellent end of day activity. Main bedroom bed was comfortable, AC worked well, kids liked the ladder accessible upstairs. Host was very communicative.

Amazing Dells getaway

This was an amazing place to stay just outside downtown dells. My wife and I spent a couple nights here and loved the property so much. Everything was very clean and up to date. The location of the property was perfect. It was just private enough to not feel watched but the other cabins are close enough to make you feel safe. Couldn't recommend this place more.

We had a great visit, quiet cabin in wooded acreage. Wonderful hiking trails, perfect for dog walks. Well stocked kitchen. I wish the cabins were not so vlose together, my dogs barked at every person they saw. Overall we had a very nice relaxing stay. Thank you!!

Great stay!

The owners were great! Checked on us every step of the way while we were there. Property was great! Kitchen well stocked with common staples that other properties don’t usually have. Property was in a great location, close to well known areas. Staying here made for a great weekend away. And I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Kudos to Orange Tractor Retreat!

Our new favorite place in the Dells. Everything about our stay was exceptional. The cabin is immaculate and had all the amenities you could ask for. The property is a well maintained, quiet and secluded with hiking trails throughout. The owners were very responsive and accommodating of our last minute request for a late checkout. Premium cost but worth every dollar. Highly recommend if your looking for a place close to the Dells but far enough away from all the bustle.

Luxury Cabin in the middle of the woods

Just as described, this cabin has all the high end touches while in the middle of the woods. We were able to enjoy the area, go to the Dells, and then come back to comfort. Our dog also loved the grounds. It was also easy to reach the owners for questions through text. The only thing that was a little difficult was the ladder that went to the second floor beds. Even though our littlest wanted to climb it, it was a little steep for him so he slept with us downstairs. Will definitely be back!

Dells Getaway

We stayed for a family vacation in the Wisconsin Dells. We opted for a cabin 20 minutes outside of the Dells to avoid the crowds and have a more remote and relaxing environment. We loved the upstairs bunks- but be aware the stairs are a bit tricky to navigate (not a good fit for older adults with mobility issues or young children who may need to be monitored going up and down the ladder). It was nice to be able to get a fire going as well as the grill to cook. And the location was excellent for being close enough to the activities we had planned but not right on the strip. The area has about 5 cabins close together but everyone was quiet and respectful and we had no issues. They have a ton of recommendations for activities, restaurants, hiking, and more available with your stay. Hosts were responsive and helpful when we needed extra towels or had questions.

Great spot. Not to far from downtown Dells attractions but also good proximity to the lake. The property was very nice overall. Perfect size for my wife and I, our two kids, and dog. The outdoor gazebo was nice, with cornhole game and seating. The property would make a great spot for multiple families to vacation together.

Phyllip, we appreciate the great review! We’re glad you found Orange Tractor Retreat to be a cozy home base for enjoying the Dells while still having plenty of space to relax with your family, and your pup! We especially love that you mentioned the new pavilion and the opportunity for multiple families to get together. That’s exactly what we hope OTR can continue to be: a place where families and friends can enjoy their own spaces while still being able to gather and spend time together. We'd be happy to welcome you back soon!

Founded in 2019, Orange Tractor Retreat is a family run business. We’re two married couples, managing the next phase of our lives as our kids all head to college and leave us as empty-nesters. We built the Orange Tractor Retreat for people who love the smell of pine, enjoy watching eagles, the quiet, calm interaction with nature and for those who love the fun and excitement of the central Wisconsin/Dells area. Our cabins were built to be the home base for all that you want to experience in the Dells. We've been personally involved in every aspect of Orange Tractor Retreat. Beginning with rescuing our namesake - a 1961 Allis Chalmers tractor left over on the property when we purchased it. We’ve rehabilitated the forest, marked the paths, decided on cabin placement based on the trees, designed and furnished the cabins… and everything in between. We have big plans for OTR, and we hope you’ll join us in our journey!
