Welcome to The Northwoods Nook, a cozy ski-in/ski-out studio condo located at Caribou Highlands Resort in the heart of Lutsen, Minnesota. With Lutsen Mountains right outside your door and year-round resort amenities, this is the perfect home base for exploring Minnesota’s North Shore.

Parking: One designated parking space is included.

Pets: No pets are permitted.

Check-In: Self check-in directly at the unit. Your access code and arrival instructions will be provided approximately 48 hours before check-in.

Important Information

Resort Amenities: Pools, hot tubs, and other shared amenities are HOA-managed and may close without notice. Availability is not guaranteed, and refunds are not provided for amenity closures.

Ski Access: Ski-in/ski-out access is dependent on Lutsen Mountains operations, weather, snow conditions, and trail availability and is outside the host’s control.

Rental Agreement: A short registration form must be completed after booking and before check-in details are released.

Cancellation Fee: A 3% cancellation fee applies to all cancellations.

Weather: Refunds or partial refunds are not provided for weather, environmental, or air-quality conditions, including snowstorms, icy roads, wildfire smoke, travel delays, flight disruptions, late arrivals, or early departures. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

Professionally managed by Escape Vacation Rental Management.
This unit is operated outside of the resorts rental pool. Please do not utilize the front desk and reach out to the unit owner/manager (posted inside the unit) with any questions or inquiries.

Very clean condo with awesome views of Lake Superior and Moose Mountain. Well stocked with pots, pans, and kitchen gadgets. Host was great to work with too.

Love this spot... super close to Bridge run and right on moose access.... I did learn one needs to check the web site on a windy day to see if the gondola is running BEFORE you head down the access to moose mtn.

Wonderful views and great location to explore Lutsen, Grand Marais and the incredible trails nearby. Enjoyed the nearby winery, restaurants as well the pool and whirlpools on site.

Everything was great

Me and my two teenage children stayed for two nights. It is very cozy, but still better than a hotel room. The kitchen was convenient so we didn’t have to eat out for every meal. The ski in/ski out access was perfect and made it so easy.

A nice place to stay

We enjoyed our stay. We especially enjoyed the views and the wood fireplace. Shayla was extremely helpful. Everything was nice and clean.There is no closet or dresser. That was really the only issue, but not a huge problem.

Relaxing and Rejuvenating - We loved it!

Upon our arrival the room was cute and cozy! We relaxed on the corner deck where we could watch people swim and take in the beauty of the mountains. The room was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed listening to live music after dinner on the grounds of the Lodge and even played some cornhole. Just one little glitch was the lock on the door but the owners were prompt to help us through that (the lock may need to be changed though as it took a few tries each time with the code). Minor inconvenience that was not a big deal. Overall, excellent place to stay and we will definitely be going back!!

Excellent VIEW in end unit! Ski in/out!

We have stayed at several condos in the Caribou Highlands building. By far, this unit had the best VIEW because it is an end unit. Views out our balcony were of Lake Superior & from the side window a view of the mountain. The ski in/out access is just steps from the unit. We have rented from this property owner several times in the past and every time have had a top notch experience. Very organized with all the info you need to access property, use of amenities, etc. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy Lutsen! Enjoy the amazing view from this condo!

This was a well-appointed condo, and I was very excited at first to stay here. The condo had everything we needed and was clean. Unfortunately, the mold was another issue. When we walked into the hallway to the condo, there were fans blowing in the hallway. There was a musky smell, and you could tell the carpet looked wet. The door to this hall was propped open. When we went into the condo, there was a large water stain in the corner by the couch. I could tell I was reacting slightly with ear itching and scratchy throat. We had the windows and sliding glass door open and spent most of our time outside. But on Tuesday, it started to storm, and we had to shut everything up. I then had a huge mold reaction. I slept in our van that night. I am very concerned that someone with a compromised immunity or lung issues would have a serious issue on their hands if they stayed in this building. The mold and water damage have to be addressed.

We truly appreciate you communicating this to us during your stay — it allowed us to address the problem right away. The previous guest hadn’t reported anything, so your message was the first we heard of it. After you reached out, resort maintenance discovered a leak from the AC unit in the condo above. The issue was fixed, the ceiling was opened, checked for mold, and repaired. Guest health and comfort are incredibly important to us, and we truly appreciate your feedback in helping us resolve this.

Caribou Highlands is uniquely positioned on the mountain as a ski-in/ski-out resort as well as it's proximity to everything outdoors. Located close to some of the best hiking trails the north shore has to offer, biking trails, golfing at Superior National, the North Shore Winery is 1/2 mi down the mountain, and some of the north shore's best restaurants all within a few miles.
