My wife and I truly enjoyed our 3 month stay in this single family home. Originally, we chose this fine home because the owners, Ed and Lilli, advertised it as "pet friendly." We intended to bring our small Jack Russell Terrier with us for December, January, and February, and Ed and Lilli were very comfortable with bringing Gus along. Unfortunately, before we traveled to Naples, poor little Gus suffered a serious of strokes and passed way.
We have to emphasize that Ed and Lilli are 2 of the nicest, most accommodating people we have ever met. They tried very hard to make our stay in their beautiful home a great experience for us. The home is very comfortable with an excellent layout. Both of us really loved the large lanai with the large table, plenty of seating, and 2 zero gravity chairs that we and our visitors fell in love with. Sitting here in the unseasonable March cold in Pennsylvania, my wife and I constantly reflect on enjoying breakfast and several lunches on the warm lanai. Except for some homesickness, we had a very good time.
The home itself is in a very nice, welcoming neighborhood where we met some of the friendliest people we'll every meet. And most everyone loves to walk their dogs. They'll wave and stop to talk.
Palm River Estates, where the home located, has one of the most convenient locations in the Naples area. It is only a short drive to Immokalee Road that runs East and West through North Naples. Anything you need and several excellent restaurants are readily accessed from Immokalee Road. And, if you just follow it west towards the Gulf of Mexico, in about 3 miles you'll reach Vanderbilt Beach and Delnor-Wiggins State Park, easily two of the best stretches of beach that we have ever enjoyed. We went there twice a week, and even spent Christmas Day in shorts, t-shirts, sandals lounging in chairs overlooking the ocean.
If you want to experience the energy and good times available in the City of Naples, that's just a 20 minute drive down Goodlatte-Frank Road. On 5th Avenue and 3rd St, you'll find outstanding restaurants and the best shopping experience on Florida's Gulf Coast. And along the other major thoroughfares branching off Immokalee, you'll find a huge variety of dining and retail choices.
Of course, there were a few hiccups with the house, but most were quickly remedied. For example, my wife likes to watch TV in the bedroom, and so Ed immediately had an upgraded satellite hookup and a new flat screen TV installed.
