When we arrived, we were surprised to find the home in a typical Costa Rican neighborhood. Some homes are rentals, similar to this one, others pieced together with metal, without windows or doors. The home is well-protected by high walls and a pretty gate. After a day or two, we were more comfortable in our surroundings and walked to restaurants and the grocery store at the bottom of the hill. The neighbors were outside visiting most evenings, kids playing ball or riding bikes in the street. They were all friendly and we wished we knew more Spanish to be able to communicate with them. The home was great! A beautiful jungle view from every window Antonio does a great job keeping up with the pool and landscaping daily. He was always near if we needed anything. We loved waking up at 5:15 to see the monkeys. The first morning a family of monkeys came and ate an egg on our roof. We also got to see toucans, hummingbirds, agoutis, a giant iguana in a tree, adding to the enjoyment of our stay. Two negatives- if you leave any food item out in the kitchen, you’ll draw tiny ants. Quickly. Second, the master shower is open and water sprays all over the floor.
