Make your vacation dreams come true at South Colony Cottage! This adorable 4 bedroom, one level, newly renovated South Nags Head cottage is just a short stroll to the beach. If you enjoy outdoor living, this is the spot for you. There is a ground level tiki bar, putting hole, grill, plenty of seating, private outdoor shower, fish cleaning table, screened and sun porches! Enjoy spectacular sunsets over the undeveloped wildlife refuge from the back porch or backyard.
The 'H plan' layout inside is perfect for families and/or friends - 2 Jack and Jill bedrooms on each side of the open concept living/kitchen/dining space in the middle. There is a TV in the living room and each bedroom. South Nags Head is arguably the best location on the Outer Banks for a family vacation. It is a residential only area surrounded by the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Although it is quiet and non-commercial, it is only minutes from restaurants, retail and recreation. There is a 4.5 mile long multi-use path throughout South Nags Head that is perfect for running, walking or biking.

We had a great stay. The only downside was not knowing about the beach restoration project that caused our section of the beach to be closed off. Thankfully, there are many beaches nearby so it was still an amazing experience.

We're so glad that you had a great stay, thank you for the positive review! We totally understand your disappointment about the beach renourishment. Due to the very unpredictable nature of these projects it is impossible to know when/how they might affect a particular area of the beach. Luckily, the project was completed this weekend and now Nags Head has big, beautiful beaches for all to enjoy. Thanks again!

It was a nice place to stay. The air conditioning works great! The area under the house was set up really nice. It’s basically like a covered patio with a bar, games, hammock and plenty of seating. The only thing that kept us from enjoying it were the bugs. They do spray the area for bugs but nature is tough. I loved the location which was a really short walk to the beach. The neighborhood was quiet and perfect for walking or bicycling around. It was hard to leave the wonderful beach cottage.

A good value, however it is a little run down and poorly maintained. The amenity area was probably great at one point in its life and lawn needed to be cut, areas cleaned and couch was stained and gross. Bugs are bad- not their fault. Pros- Pretty clean and functional sleeping for 6 people. The AC worked great. Easy walk to the beach. Liked the foot washer and outside shower.

My family absolutely LOVED this rental beach house. It was the perfect size for me and my husband, our three kids, and my mom. It was very clean and in a great location to beach access. The neighborhood was quiet and family friendly being in close proximity to activities such as: Bodie Lighthouse, Nage Head Pier, Jeanettes Pier, ice cream, local eateries, the outlet mall, mini golf, go-karts, Manteo...a convenient location for all.The house also included a very, very nice outdoor area under the house. Great usage of the space with a great outdoor showe4 and several places to hang towels and swimsuits. My kids enjoyed the little putting green, hammock, and the outdoor tv. It also had horseshoes and corn hole. We would rent this home again! 5 out of 5 stars for us!

Great little house, very close to beach!

Very cute little place perfect for a family of four to 6 max. Great safe neighborhood, which in a quite part of nags head. About a 2 1/2 mile flat and easy bike ride to some restaurants and also the fishing pier nearby is the best. They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights and a bar and restaurant which is really fun. The only negative is we found tons of tics in the house and on our dog and us on the last day of the trip. I think it’s because we left our dog in the backyard roaming attached to the provided extended leash. I would suggest people avoid letting your dog in the grass in June and let folks know this is a concern at your property. Also, the showers in the house have low pressure, apart from the outside shower (which was very nice)! Otherwise, we had a great time and would recommend this rental to others. Also, I called the rental number provided a hand full of times and only reached someone once. They did address my concern, but I could never reach them again.

Yes, all variety of pests are prevalent outdoors throughout the Outer Banks and pet owners in particular should be vigilant about flea/tic medication and checking their pets carefully before bringing them inside if they have been exploring outdoors. We do not have any unanswered voicemails or emails from this guest - guests must leave a message if they need help or expect a call back. We are working every day but very busy so we cannot always pick up every call.
