We had a great time staying here. The deck was amazing and renting the pontoon boat was the highlight of our stay. We were on the water for 2 days tubing and enjoying the lake. The host thought of all the small details inside and each room has its own air conditoner. The furniture and mattresses are very comfortable and the huge ktichen island was perfect for playing family games. Thick towels laid out in every room with extra towels provided. The 3 bathrooms were a plus too. This house has been renovated inside with many comforts and thoughtful upgrades. We appreciated the mostly ramps to the dock versus the many steps it could have been. Karen responded quickly and her son who also lives on the lake was available at anytime. The lake location is perfect and minutes ride from Indiana Beach, lake restaurants and stores. Karen thought of every detail and this home makes you feel at home.

Incredible property on Lake Shafer. Beautifully decorated. 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, sofa sleeper, dish washer, washer, dryer, amazing decks. TVs in every room. 2 keurig machines. Master suite had king bed with balcony. Loved all the extra amenities (k cups, makeup wipes, snores kit) We also rented their pontoon boat. Great Lake house experience. Will definitely be back next year!

The property was great and very comforting. Communication with Kelly was phenomenal even before I booked our trip. We rented a boat and Ryan was extremely helpful during the lesson as well as helping with extra life vests. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Such a great house!! The new deck is amazing. The access to the lake is incredible. The house was so comfortable and had everything we needed! We stopped at Kroger on the way to check in for supplies but didn’t end up needing half of it. The house was already stocked with amenities! Snacks and water, check. S’mores supplies, check. Bug spray, check. Air pump and tethers for our floaties, check! Plus, there was a dispenser of cold, cucumber-infused water waiting for us on the kitchen counter when we walked in. So nice and thoughtful! Kelly and Kevin are new to the hosting game and they are CRUSHING IT! Kelly was very responsive and helpful. We never had a single problem, but if we would have, I have no doubt she would have resolved it with haste and grace. This is the place to stay when visiting Monticello!

Our stay was wonderful! Kelly (Hostess) was in communication from the day I booked until the day we left with any questions or concerns. From the moment we walked in you could feel the coziness. We had six adults, one teenager and two six year olds and the sleeping arrangements were perfect and everyone was comfortable. There were plenty towels, wash rags, pillows, blankets and sheets. She also provided detergent, fabric softener, K cups, creamer, s'mores bar, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and propane for the big grill. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook and grill with and plenty of dishware. The bathrooms were nice and big. The patio was beautiful with so much seating and very comfy. The bottom deck was a little walk but well worth it!! We fished, sunbathed, swam and she provided a large mat that you could sit and float on. So our overall experience was a great time! Thank you Kelly for being a great Hostesses!

This was the best VRBO I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in a lot of them. The host went far above most to make our stay awesome. There was nothing that was forgotten to make our stay the best possible. I will stay again.

Perfect place for great family memories!

Exceptionally well equipped and updated lake house!Kelly and Ryan were great and responded within minutes with any questions we had. The pontoon we rented for a couple days was a lot of fun especially cruising over to the island with the small beach Ryan showed us when demonstrating the boat to us. With 3 full bathrooms and the tankless water heater we never ran out of hot water for showers. The decor, towels, dishware, bedding, kitchenware, appliances etc. are all first class. The selection of games, PlayStation, and VR helped keep my 3 toddler grandsons entertained as well as the huge flat screen TV's in every room.We're all looking forward to returning.It was a great vacation with nothing but great family memories! Who could ask for anything More?

Fantastic in every way!

This place was amazing and the hosts could not have been more accommodating! Our group had 7 people with ages ranging from 11-75 and everyone had a great time! They immediately responded to every question and even rearranged one of the living rooms to bring in a recliner for my dad to sleep in! The house is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need and more. The decks are stunning and we spent as much time as possible out there enjoying the lake views and comfy furniture. We rented the boat for a day and it was also amazing. Our 3 girls really enjoyed riding on the tube and inflatable hot dog. I cannot say enough good things about this house and the hosts. You will enjoy your stay here!

Kelly and Ryan were excellent hosts. Ryan was great on the introduction to the Pontoon boat. We truly enjoyed our time on the water with family and friends. The rental came with many small but thoughtful amenities that are not typical of most VRBO rentals. Weather was excellent and Kelly made sure that all of our needs were met. We will be back !

We were really impressed with the property and the owner was very helpful and great to work with. We had lots of fun and enjoyed the lake. We really appreciated all of the extras that they provided! Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful lake retreat

We love your property! Thank you so much for having us. The lake is so relaxing - we swam in it everyday! The pontoon boat was so fun, and it was so convenient that we could rent the boat right there! Ryan was great giving us the boat tour & showing us the sandbar! Communication with Kelly was wonderful! We loved all the extras - snacks, s'mores, stuff for Mr. Boots etc. This house has everything you need & more! We will be back❤️

My favorite vrbo house so far!!!

Beautiful scenery, NATURE OH HOW I LOVE YOU, Fishing, boating, nice restaurants, and nature what more can you ask for?! Wonderful family lake vacation

Extremely clean and very nice property. The boat was great and all of the decks were lovely. The house was very well stocked and we were surprised by all of the extras like water bottles and s'mores ingredients that were included. Owners were exceptional. We had a great time as three generations having a lot of fun and also a lot of peaceful relaxation. We are already looking to book again next summer.

AMAZING!

Kellie and her son Kyle (property manager) were top-notch in every aspect. This was probably our favorite vacation rental of all time! From contacting us ahead of time and answering all our questions as we packed, to being flexible about our check-in time (we were running late), to helping us find things at the house without delay (answered texts quickly). The house is completely stocked with EVERYTHING you might need. We walked in to water bottles and ice already in the fridge/freezer. The kitchen had a huge array of dishes (crock pot, casserole dishes, baking sheets, tons of silverware, cleaners and adequate paper products - several rolls of paper towels). My family loved the smores kit they left for us - we cooked them over the propane fire pit on the back deck! The rooms were cozy and very clean. Bath towels were fluffy and numerous, they even provided beach towels. They had bug spray and sunscreen, shampoo and soap, extra razors, mouthwash and q-tips. They had wide selection of games, cards, coloring books, toys and bubbles for our 5 year-old grandson. Back deck was brand new with seating for 10 at tables and 4 more chairs at the firepit. We were all inside on a rainy day (14 people with family visiting) -plenty of room to spread out with 10 bar stools and 2 couches and big sectional (sleeper sofa - quite comfy). Master suite upstairs had small balcony overlooking the back deck, perfect for reading and lake-gazing. Pontoon rental easy and fun. Hope to return!!

Impressive Lake House

Kelly and Ryan were amazing hosts. Always responsive and checking in on us. This house was so clean and so stocked. We definitely overpacked. We were so impressed with all the amenities - even the little things that many VRBOs only get you started - plenty of shampoo, soap, garbage bags, toilet paper you name it, we couldn’t find something that was missing. The boat was also so fun - our kiddos loved tubing on the lake. Also a plus is the ramp leading down to the lake - not too many stairs. Outside and inside - lots of thought went into the details to make your stay very comfortable.

We have been visiting Monticello for years enjoying time spent with family and friends who live there and have been kind enough to share their beautiful space on the river with us. Every time we visited, we fell in love with it just a little bit more so we decided to start looking for a vacation home that would also be used as a short term vacation rental property and were blessed to find this home. We want our guests to be very comfortable and we enjoy being able to be a part of making great memories and to help create great experiences!

Our home is in a perfect location! Almost at the midpoint between the River and Indiana Beach with great views in every direction.

My favorite things about our home are the beautiful location, open kitchen, two family rooms, three bathrooms and the large decks! We also have a ramp almost the entire way to the boathouse reducing the number of stairs considerably! And we have plenty of parking spots which is very unusual for the area including a place to park your trailer if you bring your boat!

For every stay we supply little conveniences that make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable in the hopes you will consider staying with us again the next time you visit Monticello!
