My family (5 adults) had a great time in Loreto Bay at Casa Maria for one week. Weather was perfect in early December, not too hot but great for hiking, golf, swimming & snorkeling. We encountered a few deferred maintenance issues on arrival that were addressed property management during out stay (see “pros and cons” below). But overall, this property is a great value for a family or small group, offering great privacy in the spacious house with 3 very separate bedrooms, each with it’s own full bath. The thick walls being very soundproof. Lovely entry garden, comfortable beds, and nice furnishings in the downstairs living area. A short walk to the beach, pool areas, mini-mart and coffee bar. Loreto town is super clean, low key with nice restaurants and shops. The locals both in town and at Loreto Bay were always extremely nice, hospitable and welcoming to visitors.
In summary, a few updates to the property could definitely enhance the experience. As other reviewers have mentioned, be prepared to buy some basics like extra toilet paper, dish & laundry soap, trash liners, etc. But being in the beautiful water, desert mountain air and mellow vibe of Loreto it’s hard to complain too much. :)
PROS: clean, comfortable, nicely furnished, plenty of bath towels and linens, private and quiet, more affordable that similar properties in Loreto Bay. The development of Loreto Bay itself, the beach and the golf course is extremely well maintained and beautiful.
CONS: fountain was inoperable (but fixed during our stay), washing machine stopped working (also fixed during our stay), TV in living room has damaged display (permanent horizontal lines and dead areas on screen), TVs in bedrooms are inoperable (suggest updating VRBO description “each room equipped with a flat screen TV”), air conditioner remotes not working, even after switching batteries, outdoor furniture on terrace (lounge chairs) and tower (table) are broken and need replacing, wifi is generally slow and spotty.
