Summary:

Smallwood Cabin is a cozy, family-friendly retreat with easy access to everything the Red River Gorge has to offer. Located just one minute from the Gorge Underground, this cabin is reached by paved roads the entire way, making arrival simple. With comfortable living spaces, WiFi, a hot tub, fire pit overlooking a small pond, and room for small groups, Smallwood is an easygoing place to relax after a day of adventure in the Red River Gorge.



The Space:

Smallwood Cabin offers a cozy layout with space to gather indoors and unwind outdoors.



Main Level

- Living room with smart TV and electric fireplace

- Full kitchen with everyday cooking essentials (no perishables)

- Dining table for shared meals

- One bedroom with queen bed

- Full bathroom with tub/shower combo

- Washer and dryer



Upstairs

- Two bedrooms, each with a queen bed

- Separate full bathroom



Exterior

- Covered hot tub

- Fire pit overlooking a small pond

- Outdoor dining table with seating for six

- Charcoal grill (guests provide charcoal and lighter fluid)

- Pull-through gravel driveway right off a paved road for easy access

The Neighborhood:

Smallwood Cabin is very central to many RRG attractions! It is located in a neighborhood with other cabins and is very easily approachable.



Other Things to Note:

RRG Getaways supplies a starter amount of the following: hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, dish pods, laundry pods, and basic cleaning supplies. Any additional items needed will be the guest's responsibility to supply. We do not supply anything considered perishable or consumable, this includes but is not limited to, coffee, salt, pepper, oil and the like.



- Pets are not allowed at this cabin and will result in a $200 violation fee.

- There is a drip coffee maker, we provide filters but guests will ask to provide their own coffee.

- We do not provide firewood, charcoal or lighter fluid.

Fantastic!!! This Cabin is perfect, clean beautiful, quiet, and so close to everything. Litter 1/2 mile from the cave kayaking adventure. So close to all of the must sees of Red River Gorge

Very nice! Cabin was perfect and had everything you need. Location was great as well. Only issue is the thermostat- one almost needs a PhD to figure it out to operate ;) but just a minor issue. Would highly recommend this place. Hosts were very responsive and timely with communication.

Weekend Visit To Red River Gorge

The cabin is exactly as advertised and is in a great location. Close enough to the local activities, but also far enough away for some peace and quiet at the end of the day. Highly recommended for friends or family stays.

We enjoyed our stay at Smallwood Cabin. It was modern, cozy, and well stocked with everything we needed. The host responded quickly to messages, but we were never able to figure out the temperature control of the hot tub, so we couldn’t enjoy it 2 out of the 3 nights. The house manual only explained how you could accidentally put it into sleep or eco mode, which drops the temperature, but never told us how to get it back into standard mode. Overall, the cabin was pretty clean, minus some dust on the headboards, dining chairs, and behind the TV. The HVAC return and bathroom vents were quite dirty too. Recommend updating backyard pictures as there were only 2 chairs around the fire pit, but 4 were pictured, so we didn’t bring extra seating and the weeds we’re so overgrown you couldn’t see the pond. Overall, Smallwood was a nice, roomy place for our family and we we enjoyed being so close to everything.

Cool little cabin

The cabin was great for our stay. Only picky thing I could say would be the patio table was too big for the deck. Needs to be a little smaller. But that’s just a small thing. It was a great place!

Small Wood Cabin (Smallwood)

Friends and I reserved Smallwood for a hiking trip in the area. We loved the location so close to the Red River Byway, Natural Bridge, Double Arch, and so much more. We ended up with an extra person who stayed at Natural Bridge Resort State Park which was nice and close. We enjoyed having the visitor center nearby and loved that the person behind the desk was a naturalist author who had coauthored a book on area wildflowers. The amenities and appointments in the cabin were beautiful - natural and good quality. We were looking for a few more kitchen tools, especially needed serving spoons. Overall, we loved Smallwood and would stay here again!

The upstairs shower maybe look to make the glass longer or a door. Water was spraying out on the floor. Used a towel to help keep water from pooling on floor. Bath downstairs the drain was moving slow. Maybe an umbrella for the porch to help with the sun. The bed downstairs maybe look for a different mattress it made noises when moving. Everything else was great and we enjoyed our stay. The inside was decorated beautifully and items to use to cook. Thank you for having us!

Great location!

I was actually a bit surprised with the ease of the location! Great things to do close by. The cabin is comfortable and nice finishes. The owner has been available as needed and responsive. We would recommend it!

Great experience at Red River Gorge cabin!

This property was perfectly situated within short 10-25 minute drives from various Red River Gorge hikes, outlooks, and swimming holes — the perfect place from which to adventure. The rooms were tidy and clean, the couch and TV area comfy and spacious, the kitchen area well-appointed, and the hot tub awesome! We loved the quiet.
