Long weekend stay.

Great neighborhood and location. Felt safe walking the dog late at night or early in the morning. The Union Cafe and Zaguan were great and walkable. We really liked Village Bakery and Cafe which is just a two or three minute further walk from Union. We’d stay again!

Check in was seamless and stress free with clear instructions i was thankful for. I did like the floor plan of the place though i ended my stay on the day of check in, having to quickly find an alternative. When traveling, I'm courteous of other's properties they rent to me and check the condition upon arrival. One of the things i always check is the cleanliness of the mattress. I have been through my fair share of horrors with mattresses that have bed bugs and other things so i would not find this to be an unreasonable thing as long as i am not damaging the property. When inspecting it, i became uncomfortable with finding it to be mostly covered in heavy stains which appeared to be from bodily fluid. The edges or trim of the mattress did also have some dirt and light debris, which is what i initially checked for any possible critters.Though there weren't any critters of concern, i found the condition of the mattress to be less than sanitary for a shared living space such as this. I went on to reach out and inquire about the possibility of a new mattress or possible futon from the owner, though this caused him to immediately question my reasoning for viewing the mattress rather than addressing my concern immediately. I stated again that i was not comfortable with lying there and he expressed this was in this condition prior to becoming a part time rental he owned. This to me is rather concerning and that he also pointed out in the first person he had ever had to check it

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you found the check-in process seamless and appreciated the floor plan of our property. Regarding your concern about the mattress, I’d like to clarify a few things. When you initially reached out to us with the following message: "Hello and good evening! Thank you for your assistance. I was able to arrive and check in successfully. I want to inquire about a possible replacement for the mattress in the bedroom as it is very heavily stained and I am not comfortable resting in it in this condition for my stay." The mattress in question is covered with a waterproof Co-Op Brand mattress cover that is regularly washed along with the clean bedding provided for each guest. In all my years hosting my own Airbnbs and managing them for others, I have never encountered a guest who strips the bed upon arrival to inspect the mattress. This behavior is typically associated with certain scams by guests, and the fact that you thought replacing the mattress during your stay was a reasonable request speaks volumes about your expectations. The mattress is clean, although it does have a couple of minor sweat stains that were professionally steam cleaned but not completely removed. As explained to you, the mattress has been cleaned, and it was prepared with a clean mattress cover and clean bedsheets before your arrival. I also offered you the option to end your reservation with a 50% refund if you were not satisfied with the accommodations, which you ultimately chose to do. We strive to maintain high standards for our property, and we believe the response and options provided were fair under the circumstances. Hi Kelly, I want to sincerely apologize for the situation you experienced. I was extremely frustrated by how this unfolded. The entire building lost power for over 26 hours, and right after it was restored, the HOA notified me that they needed to replace the breaker boxes for half the units, including yours. I received no advance warning about these repairs, and the timeline was left completely unclear. There was no way to guarantee reliable electricity for you during your stay, and I could not risk your comfort or safety. For anyone reading this, the cancellation was the last thing I wanted to do. I immediately reached out to Kelly as soon as I had information, explained the circumstances, and did my best to find alternative accommodations. Unfortunately, the nearby units could also be affected by the same repairs, so I was limited in my options. My goal is always to communicate quickly and transparently, especially when something is out of my control. If you have any questions or want to discuss how I handle emergencies, feel free to reach out. Kelly, if you ever plan to return, contact me directly and I will make sure your experience is seamless from start to finish. Thank you for your honest feedback.
