If, at this moment, you were standing on our deck, with the gentle rapids of the Toccoa flowing beneath you, not only the tranquility of the setting but also the charm of an original A-frame would beckon you to stay. Imagine there being
crackling wood in the woodburning stove, or fresh caught trout frying on the stovetop, preparations being made to tube down the river or enjoyable peaceful moments in the hot tub. The firepit is ready to toast marshmallows, tell tall tales, or spin some yarn, as they say here and warm the soul.The sounds of the river will heighten your senses in the morn and lull you to sleep at night. Just breathe, relax, and enjoy.

For our fellow adventurers, We are .1 miles away from the Aska hiking trails and only mins. from Dry Branch Rd. on Lake Blue Ridge providing access to the lake.

A few people have asked why we don’t have many reviews. The answer is that we have just listed our cabin online. We have many wonderful hand-written reviews in our visitors book and look forward to many more stars online. We’ll gladly share details thereof.
Our cabin is air-conditioned, heated with wood burning stove and central heat. Kitchen is fully stocked with all of your cooking and dining utensils and then some. Refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, coffeemaker and dishwasher for your convenience. Outside Weber charcoal grill for barbeques on deck. Laundry provides washer/dryer, sink, shower and facilities easily accessible to river. Main floor Bathroom includes shower/tub combo.

Such an incredible location and a beautiful place. Thanks for the wonderful weekend. One of the potential issues we ran into was that could effect future visitors. We didn't have internet access, due to the mountainous terrain, and couldn't find out how to get the key holder unlocked without referring to the vrbo app. Might be possible to put the wifi password on the welcome message via the App. Thanks again!

You cannot beat this stunning location on the river. Cabin is cozy and rustic and I do believe it has the best river bank on the road!

My family had the most magical getaway at this charming riverside cabin. We played in the river, warmed up in the hot tub, saw fireflies dancing in the yard, rested and repeated each day of our stay. It was wonderful!

A lot of conditions were not disclosed. Such as the long stairs in which one must carry all of their belongings down to just begin their stay. Quite difficult not to mention dangerous for 70 year olds.also it was not mentioned that the upstairs bedroom is connected to the loft sleeping area.one must go through the loft area to get to the bedroom.

Cozy cabin

The cabin is great. We loved the coziness of it. It’s very close to the river so you hear the rushing water so well it almost puts you to sleep. Sitting in the hot tub in cold temps was nice. It is also one of the easiest mountain cabin to drive to.

Nice place, very homey cabin vibe.Bed mattresses, pillows & linens could be upgraded for better night's sleep.Laundry Room is accessed from outside basement level door, so a bit inconvenient.

Not great for elderly or young children, otherwise good. The winding stairs to the loft and upper bedroom are tight and dark, making it kind of scary to get to the downstairs bathroom at night. The 2nd bathroom is outside under the house, which isn't great with little kids in the winter. But that's probably a great feature in the summer. Overall, the cabin is way too dark in the winter. I will say that the host was incredibly friendly. It also appears that some concerns from previous reviews had been addressed. For example, the toilet seemed new, the fire pit was in great shape, and the cabin was clean (desperately needs a new couch though). All appliances and electronics worked. We enjoyed our stay!

We were there from the 23rd-26th not a single a Christmas decoration to be had. Stairs to the loft weren't safe, banisters lose, no lighting, twenty-eight years old & fell down once. Hot tub not clean, slimy, leaves & debris. Beds uncomfortable, pillows flatter than a flitter. Couches are in desperate need of replacing, no comfort to be had. Parking situation is the pits. Lighting throughout wasn't great. Bathtub slippery, bathroom pretty dark. No carpeting or rugs, floors pretty dirty. Thankfully it is located in such a stunning area, spent an awful lot of time enjoying the quiet solitude.

We don’t want to leave!

This cabin is perfect! Very close to the river and gives total summer camp vibes with the bunkbeds in the sunroom and a great fire pit! Joann, the host, was a delight to work with. We will definitely be back!

Very nice weekend getaway on river

A frame home is located on beautiful river front lot. Very well maintained and kitchen has what you need for cooking. 15 min from downtown Blue Ridge.

A True River Retreat!

The River Retreat is a true gem of a cabin. The A frame cabin is full of cozy character and we did not find a reason to venture out much, what with the roaring river and beautiful scenery! We look forward to coming back! Highly recommend!

Family retreat

This home is a simple home on the beautiful river. The location was excellent. We loved being close to Blue Ridge but far enough to be close to nature. My teens and dog spent most the trip in the river. The fire pit was nice to have s’mores and sit on the river. We also enjoyed lots of the nearby hiking trails.

Clean and comfortable oasis!

River Retreat is spectacular! Everything from the cleanliness, the amazingly comfortable beds, of course the setting and scenery, the cozy (yet spacious) atmosphere and the location! What a relaxing, peaceful, serene place, I didn’t want to leave! The description is accurate and the host was easily available for communication.

We had a wonderful stay host were very responsive with any issues we had check in and check out was a breeze. There was anmole amount of dishes and cookware in the kitchen nice thick towels in the bathroom and even toiletries for us to use. This is a very pet friendly place so if dog hair is not your thing, this is not your place. There was dog hair all over the furniture and other places. Be aware of copperheads, as I was almost bitten by grabbing a piece of wood off of the wood stack outside.

Great place

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Location and view are absolutely stunning. A few things we didn't realize: The second bathroom is outside below the house, the main bedroom upstairs has a window cut out so not completely private, and there was a bit of an odor but nothing a few store-bought plugins didn't fix.

The cabin and the river was just perfect ! ❤️

Very neat, clean, and beautiful cabin and we enjoyed the wonderful river time with the roaring waters , We had stick fires and hot tub times and relaxation ! Grilling and wine time ! Nothing negative to say 👍❤️

Toccoa Treat

Loved the location on the river. This is the spot to be for Mountain biking and kayaking. Life on the deck was so refreshing and relaxing with the sound of the river rushing over the rocks. Wi-Fi was great. Hot tub much appreciated for soothing weary bodies after a day of kayaking and biking

Definitely a river retreat

A vintage gem in the Aska area. The river views and access are exceptional. Few steps, easy parking and some wonderful updgrades (e.g. appliances, deck steps, nice dishes/glassware). Cozy and nice towels that are plentiful for both the hottub and inside use. The firepit is a bonus to enjoy relaxing by the river. Perfect size for the two of us and having our dog welcome was a pleasure. Our stay was so pleasant we can't wait to come back!
