Comfortable Loft in Gastown

This was our first trip to Canada, and we spent 4 days exploring Vancouver. We stayed in a cozy, clean studio loft on the 4th floor of a gated secure building in Gastown. The bed was very comfortable, and thoughtful touches like having a full filtered water pitcher waiting in the fridge made the stay feel even more welcoming. We expected rain, but were pleasantly surprised with only light drizzles during our stay. We loved being able to walk everywhere and enjoyed great food nearby, especially at Skewers Souvlaki Pita Bar and the sourdough bread at Nelson the Seagull Cafe. A magical day was spent when we walked to Stanley Park. We really enjoyed walking among the beautiful trees and then enjoying beverages at the Stanley Park Restaurant and Brewpub. We did have an issue with a window shade but hopefully it will be fixed for the next visitor. All in all this loft made a perfect home base-we'd happily stay here again & recommend it to others. Great location

The loft was great for two people. Could also sleep another person on the pull out couch. It’s a great location if you need to stay downtown. However, there are a few things that should get fixed in the place, and the cleanliness of the loft was not the greatest. Also, the parking spot is very tight even with a small car but it was manageable.

Funky loft

We love staying in Gastown and this funky loft was perfect. Very clean and fun decor. The bed was really comfortable. Temp was great. Fantastic view. Check in was easy.

Wonderful space

I will absolutely be staying in this loft the next time I’m in Vancouver. The location is exactly where you want to be, the space is beautiful, open, and big, the bed was great, truly everything I wanted it to be.

Good but could definitely use some small maintenance

Was an awesome apartment good area but was definitely lacking some simple maintenance that would have made the stay better, plug covers broken, shower head not working 100%, light in the shower not working, many missing light bulbs. Definitely could use more lighting in the room. In the Toilet area the walls were dirty.but other then that a very cool apartment to stay in and everything else was clean and tidy

Amazing loft

I absolutely loved staying at this property! Great location in Gastown, tons of room and super clean! Only negative was it took a few times of ringing the property manager to be let into the building and she seemed confused who I was when she knew the time I was checking in.

Lovely loft with all the amenities

I really enjoyed this space. The exposed brick, the open floorplan, modern yet industrial - very nice. They had everything I needed in the kitchen. Bed was super comfy. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect room

Worked in Vancouver area for 3 days and enjoyed the space immensely. Quiet at night - comfy bed - had some great dinners in the area! Pourhouse and Cuchillo both under a 10 minute walk.

Sehr schönes Loft in Gastown, schwierige Gegend

Super eingerichtetes Loft zum Wohlfühlen und mit schönem Blick in der 4. Etage. Bestens zum Wohlfühlen. Wenn man um die Ecke geht, sollte man unbedingt mit campierenden Obdachlosen und vielen, von Drogen gezeichneten Menschen rechnen.

wasn't the best stay

I didn't have the greatest stay here. It was a decent location but just to be aware it is a block away from East Hastings which is more of a sketchy area. Also the description said that there was AC but it was a portable AC unit that goes out the window and because of the inproper set up the window was open which caused the cool air to escape and not create proper air circulation so the place was hot the entire stay as well as caused flies to come into the apartment. The pictures looked very similar but it wasn't that clean and their was mold in the shower and the area where the toilet was was unclean and had a weird gross smell the entire stay. Was really disappointed because this place was expensive to stay at and it was a miserable stay from all the issues. When I did message the owner he just said no one else had issues but I experienced them.

An urban oasis!

Extremely comfortable getaway in the hustle and bustle of Gastown. Building is very secure with great urban views. Close to lots of fun shops, bars and restaurants. Hope to visit again soon!

Great spot

Awesome experience with the property manager and spot. That being said this is the first and last time i woukd ever use vrbo. Garbage app with absolutlet terrible customer service.

The Good: It's in Gastown, so there's lots to do, see, and eat. Transport options are plentiful. Architecture is varied and interesting. It's a cheap place, comparatively? The Bad: I get that a warehouse converted to apartments lets us imagine we're starving artists in the big city, complete with exposed brick, giant wooden beams, and so on, but dang, the place was noisy. The developers clearly wanted to maximize their profit, so it doesn't seem like much, if any, soundproofing was installed. The upstairs neighbors had a fondness for rearranging their furniture between 20:00 and 03:00 all while doing windsprints. There were three coffee pods when I arrived. We mentioned it, were told they'd bring replacements, yet no replacements arrived. The next point has more to do with Expedia's site than the place itself. It seemed like we were booking a hotel room, based on the site. Upon booking, I started receiving emails from vrbo. Not the worst thing to happen, but I was hoping for a front desk to at least drop my luggage off with when I first arrived. Instead I had to message the host to see if I could arrange something. They said they'd message me when the cleaners were done and it wasn't until I messaged them again hours later that I was told they'd been in meetings and forgotten. The place was clean (i.e. probably vacant to begin with), so I could finally get in. The Verdict: If you get a really good price and sleep easily and heavily, this place would be awesome.
