Beautifully restored cottage

Interior of this cottage was wonderful! Light and bright, the rooms were decorated modern but not austere. Beds were comfortable, more than enough for our family. The exterior does require some work. Walkways are uneven and do not extend to the parking area. The dock needs repair.

Lilac Cottage Belle River

Lovely property. Highly recommended. Our host was very nice and responsive. Many (mostly minor) issues. Some examples: need for a bedside table and lamp in main floor bedroom; no chest of drawers in main floor bedroom (but lots of room in the wardrobe to hang things up); no wastebasket in upstairs bathroom; no full length mirrors; no towel racks in main floor bathrooms; filthy outside windows in the screened-in porch (cobwebs, dead bugs); Air conditioned on main floor only. Fans provided to help cool upstairs did an inadequate job, and main fan in upstairs hall ceiling was very loud. No blackout curtains in upstairs bedrooms, so very bright from sunrise onward. Other than the air conditioning, all of these items are easily fixable, and if properly addressed, could result in a 4 star rating.
