Kick back at the Beach Shack and enjoy the best of the Forgotten Coast, including an amazing location in the Gulf Beaches neighborhood across the street from our award winning sugar white sand beaches, private pool, charming coastal décor, fabulous views and warm sea breezes! This beach vacation home is pet friendly, so bring your whole crew! Beach Shack is close to local shops, restaurants, nightlife, the St. George Lighthouse Museum and playground, fishing pier and the multi-use path. Spend your days soaking up the sunshine, splashing in the surf and searching for seashells, exploring the island by paddleboard, or just relaxing by the private sparkling pool with a good book and a refreshing beverage. This property puts the best of St. George Island within easy reach. Just across the bridge are Eastpoint's seafood markets and craft brewery, and the charming shops, eateries, and galleries of quaint, historic Apalachicola are just 25 minutes by car.

EXTERIOR AMENITIES
Exterior features of this home include the private pool (heated for a fee and must be requested in advance), open and covered deck spaces with plenty of seating and outdoor dining options, enclosed outdoor shower (hot/cold), fish cleaning station, private off street parking and, best of all, a primo location across the street from the beach access pathway!

INTERIOR TOUR
The charming interiors are accessed by exterior staircases on the front and back of the house. The open living/dining/kitchen area is decorated with a coastal vibe and features the comfortable seating area with flat screen TV, puzzles and games for guests to enjoy, lots of natural light and amazing coastal views. The galley style eat in kitchen with large table and pub chairs that seat 8 is a great place to gather for beachside feasts and make beach vacation memories that will last a lifetime. The kitchen has stainless appliances, colorful tile backsplash, ample counter space and is stocked with everything the chef in your crew needs!

Sleeping accommodations feature the bright and airy king master bedroom with flat screen TV and private bath with shower/tub combo, the charming queen bedroom with coastal views and flat screen TV and the bunk bedroom with coastal views that sleeps 4 with flat screen TV—perfect for the kids! The queen bedroom and the bunk bedroom share a full bathroom in the hallway with shower/tub combo. There is a full washer/dryer for guest convenience.

SPECIAL AMENITIES AND PROPERTY RULES

The pet fee is an additional $150 per pet, maximum 2 dogs with a 60 lb. weight limit. The private pool can be heated for an additional $75 per night fee excluding December, January and February and must be requested in advance.

Your beach vacation rental through St. George Island Vacations includes a beach gear credit that can be applied to beach chairs, umbrellas, bicycles, paddleboards, kayaks, beach wagons, and more.

It has everything you need for a long stay. The pool is great and the access to the beach is right across the street. One of my favorite features is the front porch. It faces the ocean and is high enough and positioned just right for a really good view of the water. Great place to have a coffee to start the day and a cocktail to end it. Also the staff at Gulf Cosst is the best. Top notch customer service.

We LOVED it !

This place is our number 1 so far ! Very close to the beach and pool is clean. Very pretty inside. I loved huge kitchen. Bathrooms are clean and all of appliances are functional and not old ! Only con about the area (which is nothing to do with the house we stayed) is … there is a crazy local couple. We ran into them at beach one day. They like to argue with visitors (not just us but other people at beach) and acted like they own whole beach… we ended up speaking with police about them. Please watch out for locals.

The porch was a great place to cool off (due to the fantastic breeze) and listen/watch the waves. I've never stayed anywhere that was so well stocked with anything & everything you need. However, be sure to bring extra toilet paper & paper towels. The pool made the hot days much more relaxing. The accommodations were clean. The staff was VERY helpful getting us into the house (written instructions were not correct/clear) & answered all our questions.

Reviewer Comments: This rental home was conveniently located across from a private path to the beach It was an easy walk and provided a gathering/storage location for beach gear for our multiple family vacation. The pool was a plus and really enjoyed by the children. The master bedroom was a good size. The other two bedrooms are small and did not have much room for suitcases. We would stay here again. We did see some roaches but someone was sent to spray once notified. As it was a pet friendly home a fur ball was pulled out from under the couch when a child retrieved a toy that was theirs. We did not bring a pet.

It’s roomy and bright and has we very comfort of home. The location is spectacular with a short walk across a quiet street to the beach. We used the beach gear credits to rent bikes. The bike path is close and a short ride to the lighthouse and more importantly to the kids... the candy store. The pool was perfect as well. We paid the extra to have it heated and it was worth every cent. Any questions I had were answered quicky by the staff at Gulf Coast. They were great to work worth. We would definitely stay here again and ehold heartedly recommend it.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Reviews were very misleading as the house was described as clean. The house was very dirty. There were at least 2 giant roaches every morning running through the kitchen and bathroom. Ceiling fan blades covered in a thick layer of dust, dirty baseboards, electrical outlet was hanging from wall in one bedroom. Front windows looking out to ocean were dirty. We had to call to ask that the windows be cleaned as well as mold and dust removed from a vent in kitchen ceiling. Cookware was the worst; food residue in pots and pans, scratched teflon pans, stainless pots were pitted, drying rack for dishes had gunk on it, kitchen garbage can lid was filthy and rusty, cooking utensils were rusty. We planned on cooking a few meals instead of going out, but after seeing the condition of cookware decided not to use it. The underside of ironing board has thick layer of dirt and dust. Pool inflatables were filthy and there was no pump or way to use them. Every hinge or door knob was rusted, shower curtain rings rusted. Filter in refrigerator for ice maker was expired, we had to call for replacement that never came. Flimsy lock on front door.The pool was clean. I have photographs of all I described. We have vacationed on SGI 3x in different homes and these conditions were the worst we have experienced.
