Located in the El Centenario neighborhood with a 15-minute drive from the La Paz BCS airport and 20- minutes to the beautiful downtown Malecón.
 
A private, bright, and beautiful modern home in a quiet cul-de-sac neighborhood with gorgeous 360-degree vistas of the Sea of Cortez, La Paz Bay, and city lights. The roof-top terrace is the perfect place to soak in spectacular sunrise and sunset vistas with your loved ones and a favorite beverage. The property is surrounded by desert landscape with an adjoining arroyo, full of birds and local wildlife. The property is well located in the La Paz area with recommended restaurants in the local neighborhood. Close proximity to all major grocery, shopping and service stores. The La Paz area is the ’undiscovered jewel’ of Baja California Sur. Many adventures await your visit!

Lovely home with everything you need. Beautiful views from the kitchen window, didn’t mind doing dishes looking out towards the Sea of Cortez. Very quiet area, the pool was fanatic as was the upper/roof top area.Don is a great host, would highly recommend.

The Casa was excellent. Best outfitted rental we've had, From kitchen ware and appliance to comfortable beds and high quality linens. Any issues were resolved super quickly and effectively by local management. They were really awesome.

We came for a week to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and also spend more time in La Paz as we plan to retire here soon. The house was perfect and super clean - we rent homes alot when we travel and I have never had one as well stocked as this one! There was not.one thing we needed that wasn't there! We loved watching the sunrise every morning over this beautiful pool and patio. There is privacy and we always felt very secure in the home. It was nice to have Troy so close by and he was very attentive. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

Our week at this La Paz rental was delightful! We loved spending time in the refreshing pool and appreciated the cozy living arrangements, which contributed to a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Casa Ballenas

To say we enjoyed our stay would be a huge understatement. The villa exceeded our expectations. Beautiful inside and out. Loved the location. Close enough to La Paz, but amazingly quiet. So well appointed. We didn't need a thing other than our clothes. Troy was great with answering questions and providing recommendations in the area. We will definitely come back for a longer term.

Beautiful, Clean and Well provisioned home

What a great experience staying in this home. It was a beautiful, clean, comfortable, well kept home. The owners had thought of everything from beach supplies (Coolers, Chairs, Umbrellas, beach towels, etc.) to probably the best provisioned kitchen I've ever seen in a short term rental. Not a single utensil you couldn't find, to an air fryer, 3 different types of coffee makers, to actually having coffee and sugar already available in the home. The view from the patio of the Sea of Cortez and El Centro at night was beautiful, as well as the pool that was the perfect temperature. Lastly, their Property management was fantastic. Troy from Prime Property Management met us at the house when we arrived, went through everything we needed to know as well as answering any questions we had about the house and the area. He even took the time to check in with us remotely during our stay to see if we needed anything. I can't thing of a single negative thing to say about this home. Great rental!

Secluded Sanctuary

My girlfriend and I stayed in March 2024. We loved this house! It's in a quiet neighborhood, and feels very peaceful. The house is decorated beautifully, and has many great touches - from the paint colors and the domed ceiling, to the inlaid tiles in the concrete, the colorful flower pots, and tasteful artwork. In addition, the house had so many things to make our stay comfortable - lots of bath supplies (shampoo etc), lots and lots of towels, plenty of kitchen supplies (plates, bowls, cooking utensils, etc.). The backyard with the heated swimming pool was definitely a highlight. It's a small pool, but it's in such a nice setting and with a great view of the hills and the bay. The house is down a fairly long dirt road, so it takes a few minutes to get even to the first paved road. It didn't rain, but I imagine when it does the road could be a challenge. Communication with the owner and manager was pretty good, not a prompt as what I'm used to with other house rentals. But they did always respond, and were very helpful. The house instructions we were provided a few days before check-in turned out to be outdated in a couple of ways. They say the manager will meet us at the property at check-in for a tour and walk-through. In fact, he just texted us the lockbox code, which was fine with us. Also that the filtered house tap water is fine and safe to drink - in fact they don't recommend drinking it, and they did provide us with plenty of bottled water. Overall great

Great little Casa. Got done what we came to do. The house was perfect for my colleague and I. We each had our separate rooms with ensuites on opposite ends of the house. The rental car outfit worked us pretty dirty at the airport and then an Independant guy hit us again in La Paz.

View, pool, cactus oh my!

I cannot find enough wonderful things to say about this property and owner. The house is wonderfully appointed, everything you could possibly need, beautifully decorated, and unbelievably comfortable beds. The view of the bay of La Paz, and at night the twinkling Lights of la Paz ate stunning. Location is perfect for many different destinations. The owner was more than willing to share any and all information she had about places, locations, grocery stores, and just basically anything you could ask she was able to answer. I would not hesitate to recommend this place!

JoEllen is the real gem

The house is beautiful, but the real gem is JoEllen’s care. We unfortunately postponed the arriving date due to the infamous storm during Christmas. JoEllen did her best to accommodate the change and reduce our loss, which was beyond expectation. Moreover she is very professional; she kept in touch with us along the way and gave us lots of good suggestions in terms of what to do and where to eat. Back to the house, it is beautiful, high ceiling, equipped with extremely comfortable beddings and a heated pool. We had no problem driving the last 5 min. to the house on the dirt road (Dec/Jan). As for La Paz, we snorkeled with whale sharks, sea lions, and checked out a couple of beaches. It was a fun stay! Can’t recommend this place more! Thanks JoEllen!

Wow!!! What a great place!

This home was exactly what we needed. If you are looking for a calm, peaceful place, this is perfect. The home is beautifully decorated and JoEllen has thought of everything you might need. She was so helpful and really an amazing host. She gave us several recommendations and they were all great. There is an incredible view of the desert, bay and mountains from the pool deck—yes a private heated pool awaits you. Watching sunsets and the stars from the roof was spectacular. We did tear ourselves away to swim with sea lions, visit Tecolate nearly every day and eat ice cream on the malecon. Thank you, JoEllen! I can’t tell you how much I needed this vacation and your home made us so comfortable. I came back tanned, relaxed and refreshed. I need to come back for Balandra, swimming with the whale sharks and manta rays and more onion and scallop tacos from McFishers. I didn’t want to leave!!!

Absolutely wonderful. Could not have been better. Exactly as pictured and more. Host communicated with detailed info before stay. Sent a text on second day to make sure all was good. On-site property manager was great as well though we had zero issues and didn't need him. Felt like home. If we can pull of another trip this year we know where we are staying!!

Perfection!

I loved everything about this house and my stay here. JoEllen was in touch just the right amount, making sure I had everything I needed, without being intrusive - I felt totally taken care of. Thank you, JoEllen! And the house! The house is super clean . . . the old "you could eat off the floor" holds here. The decor . . . lovely, relaxing color choices; beautiful tile work; interesting art pieces; yummy linens and towels; superb kitchen; and everything you need to feel comfy and cozy. I was looking for a retreat experience, and got just that! The super spacious bathroom, the pool, and outdoor areas for relaxing give a feeling of being at a spa, and the quiet seclusion is perfect for reading, introspection, meditating, yoga, or whatever it is that's your way of "retreating" and getting away from everyday life. I guess I should mention that the road up to the house is a rough dirt one, and the first couple of times on it seem long - after that, it was fine : ) Well worth the two trips it takes to get used to it. I would rent El Centenario again in a heartbeat. The pictures on VRBO truly do not do it justice. Thanks for a lovely, delightful stay at your home, Jo Ellen. I appreciate it all.

La Paz Retreat

We stayed at JoEllen’s home as part of our six-week travels through Mexico. It proved to be an exceptional choice, and lived up to other’s reviews. JoEllen and Victor did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. The house and grounds are spotless, everything works, and having a washer and dryer really made a difference for us given we’re on an extended trip. You’ll need a vehicle to enjoy all the attractions in and around La Paz, as the home is a few miles outside the city - but convenient to everything you’ll need. It’s also an excellent place to just chill out and enjoy the pool and the peaceful location! We highly recommend both JoEllen and her home for your travels!

Perfecto!

Beautiful home, perfectly decorated and equipped, incredible view, relaxing and comfortable in every way. Private patio with sparkling pool and a view of the ocean by day and La Paz city lights at night. Convenient location but away from noise and traffic. Super responsive and welcoming owner and staff.! Bonus of welcoming neighbors and a nice small bar/ restaurant a short walk away. We were there a month and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Highly recommend especially for longer stays - this house truly has it all.

Great Place

It is a great place to get away from the noise and lights of the city without being too far from town. The road is a bit rough getting there but that is not terribly uncommon for the area. It was very, very clean. I am a very clean person and I notice any little bit dirt and grime. There was none! That can be hit or miss when renting houses. It is well suited for smaller parties. The bedrooms are across the living area so it still gives a bit of privacy. All of the rooms are spacious, making luggage a lot easier to deal with than when you’re in a hotel. The outdoor area has more than enough furniture and it includes seating under a shaded patio which is appreciated if you want to be outside but need to give your skin a little recovery time. 1st time in La Paz

Great views of the bay. House is beautifully accessorized and very comfortable. Owner was SPECTACULAR - she really help us out, in an emergency. Wife tripped on the Malecon and injured her foot. Owner connected us with hospital, Doctor - all in minutes. Needless to say wasn’t our best trip, but will definitely return to La Paz. Property manager was friendly and helpful. His is a great VRBO home.

We are very fortunate in that we live in San Diego and can walk across the CBX bridge to the Tijuana airport to be in our La Paz home within three hours door to door. La Paz is the 'undiscovered jewel' of Baja California Sur! The drive down to La Paz from Southern California is a must do bucket list item! The entire Baja is full of beautiful local Mexican people.
